A nurse came in with a change of bandages, "So how you feeling? Any better?"

In the shadows of a room someone looked out at them and let go of the long dagger they'd been griping, "That was close." they said, "For a moment I'd thought she'd figured it out." then they disappeared down the hallway.

He scowled and as they started to move he stuck his tongue out at her.

((oh boy I had to laugh when I read. . . try to be a man. . . because that's like a blow to the gut to someone like Driden.))
Driden gave a sour look, as if his pride had been hurt and held the stretcher steady, "How would I know. No one tells me anything. I only train with the old hag." he gave the other nurse a pained look, "She's one scary mistress."
The other nurse started to get an annoyed look. "If you don't stop complaining I might get scary."

As she walked down the stairs a pair of curious eyes were pinned on her. A blue haired skinny boy stood in front of her half carrying a stretcher, "You listen to that old hag? If I were you I'd never let her boss me around like that." One of the nurses passed him and gave him a knock over the head, "That's because your a senseless little twirp, Driden." he said. He took the other side of the stretcher. "Now miss it'd be better not to irritate your wounds anymore so it would be best if you would ride in this."

Naomi turned to her, "Don't be a fool, Derey. None of that is your concern until you are properly healed and have started your training. Now go back to bed."

The nurse rushed forward, "Miss you shouldn't be out of bed. I'll tell Miss Naomi you were looking for her but you have to come back!" the woman turned away and yelled. "You! Driden, get me a stretcher."

Naomi was in a tower overlooking the city. Soon the medical staff showed Derey where that was.

Taylor had screamed herself into a frozen state. She was in a very small place, she could practically feel the walls closing in on her. Her arms were covered in bruises from her violent seizure of rage. Even now she could feel herself growing evermore frantic. People. . .if she didn't get out people were going to die.

Naomi was brooding as usual. She'd just heard disturbing news. Their fighter Jo had been found, dead. Her body had been dumped into the spider forest outside the tomb. They'd barely been able to identify it.

He smiled, "As you wish." then he was gone.

"Just being yourself you did that." he smiled. "Promise me that you'll get better soon, kay?"

He bowed a little bow towards her and said, "No, thank you."

He smiled, "Well you better keep that promise." he stood up and in an afterthought motion he turned to face her a warm smile on his face, "We're all rooting for you." he stumbled a little but caught himself, "I'm still a bit tired so I'd better get back to wasting time in my room." he smiled again and started towards the door.

He laughed along with her in a quiet ringing laugh, "Now I know I'm not that good of a joke maker but I really hope you're able to do your best. Naomi may not be the easiest person to get along with but when she says that she'll make you the best you can count on it. She won't fail you." He smiled a quirky little smile, "By the way, how did you convince Naomi to let you stay? Usually she has a will that would make cast-iron look soft."

He smiled and lifted his right uninjured arm, using it to thump on his chest, "Don't worry I'm as fit as stone. They'd already be chiseling away at my tomb if I were gonna die." He looked around cautiously, "Now we just need to be careful of Naomi or else she'll drive us into the ground."

His smile widened and he sat down besides her, "How you feeling? I'm a bit worried. That lady was nasty."
