They did have Muse of Nightmares in hard back but book 1 Strange the Dreamer was in paperback, and I couldn't do it. If I am going to buy them I want them to be the same. So I guess I will wait until book 2 is in paperback. Meanwhile, I still have $59 left in giftcards....maybe I will look at their site after all....

Becoming A Vincent
Going Wild
Strange the Dreamer
Muse of Nightmares
Diamond Fire
Phoenix Unbound
Dark Queen
Storm of Desire
Clash of Storms
Magic Triumphs
Iron and Magic
Lake Silence
High Voltage
Burn Bright
The Thief
Hot and Badgered
Ride the Fire
The Kingpin of Camelot
That Guy
Shadow's Bane
Series I binged on: Virgin River, Louisiana Longshot

One line that did crack me up:
Cookie: "If I was a guy, would you think I was attractive?"
Charley: "Hon, if I was a guy, I would be gay."
Cookie: "Yeah, me too."

I was literally just scrolling through my facebook feed and it was right there about a character dying. First sentence of the post. Sigh. I normally do read favorites as they come out, but after I read the first book when I could barely remember who these people were (set up from last Immortal Instruments book) I thought I would wait until the last 2 came out and read them together. But the flaw in that plan was that I read the first book 2 years ago now.....
Anyway, I might not reread the first book again. OR maybe I will just do a complete TMI reread and then go right into these.
I have only read TID once. The ending to the last book wrecked me. I don't know if I can go through that again..... hahaha

I think I read somewhere that she is going back to the time period after the Infernal Devices to the new generation, Tess and Will'..."
I have to reread the first book I think. I was waiting until they were all out to do these 3 together. Or maybe I won't bother. That book was L-O-N-G. But on the author's facebook page there was a huge spoiler posted in the promo for last book, so that kinda made me mad. It was the first sentence in the post.
Yes, I know the previous book came out a year ago but some of us haven't read it yet!

A lot of it is scam. People have their friends go on and upvote their reviews. Doug had quite a few stories in the past of shenanigans that go on with reviews.
Doug also has a facebook page for reviews where he posts the link to his review on amazon and asks for likes/upvotes if his facebook friends find the review helpful.
I used to review on Amazon and will still occasionally if I get a rare ARC (its only happened like 4 times). I prefer to review on goodreads, its not as strict or painful to post a review.

One of the books that won was that author that accused Nora Roberts of plagiarism for a similar title.
*I so wish you could do eye roll emojis on goodreads....*

Yeah, a bit surprised by some of those winners...but whatever. Funny thing is 2 books I marked as never to read were winners. hahaha

So now I again don't know what to read after such an amazing book. I think I will start a reread of the Charley Davidson series, since there are so many books and the last one is coming out in January.

So I finished Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares. I did not realize there was a tie in with the Daughter of Smoke & Bone series until the 2nd book. I did read DoSaB series and enjoyed those books, though I don't remember a whole lot of what happened. You do not need to read them to read Strange the Dreamer/Muse of Nightmares.
Anyway, I gave both books 5* and marked them as favorites. I will reread them at some point. The writing is just that amazing. The only thing is that these are dark books. Bad things happen. I cried. But that's how I judge a book - how it makes me feel. And
I was totally caught up in these books and the city of Weep. These are YA books technically, but not really. Most of the characters are younger 16-25 years old, with a few older characters, but there is very little of "boy/girl/teen" problems - just some parts to help develop the characters and help you connect with them. The book has multiple mysteries going on that come out as the story progresses. It's told from multiple POV which sometimes can irritate me when it flows from one person to another within a chapter, but this author did it masterfully as if you were being told the story. It was such an experience reading these books, that I have no clue what to read next. I'm totally unprepared to read anything else that might be just mediocre. I might do a The Kraken King reread.

And thanks for your comments on Wild Hunger. I was hesitant about reading it, but I'll give it a try.

Not sure what is up next. I got the first 3 books of the Soul Summoner series from Prime reading for free, so I might try those.
