Saw this today, just released and the story, book length (about 220) and it was on KU made it a good choice for those days/nights you just want a quick read before you start something more time consuming. No reviews yet so it was a total gamble but it was free with KU

@Vanessa - I don't think you need to be caught up to enjoy the Irin story but if you have not read the original 12 Kingdoms trilogy the Jeffe Kennedy story will leave you wondering a bit since a ton of background is missing and then after reading the book you will wonder WTF she wrote this story kinda undoing what we all thought was a HEA LOL (anyone that has not read the 12 Kingdoms trilogy needs to read them, exceptional series IMHO)

I had read one of the earlier books in this series and enjoyed it and this popped up in one of am Amazon "You Might Like This" emails and with 150+ reviews and 96% of the 4-5 Stars I thought I could not go wrong so there went $4 and I have no idea when I will read it
The British Knight

Odd thing I read that book almost EXACTLY 4 years ago, 31 Dec 2013

And we have a WINNER!!! LOL thanks Chele :)

If it helps, I am pretty sure it was book 2 of a series. Both start in a bar in Las Vegas if my memory has not deserted me BUT in my searches you would not believe how many authors churn out stories that start with a drunken night in Vegas

It is driving me crazy, I know we discussed it and now I can't remember the name!!!

Stumbled up on this, if you have ever sent a Kindle book as a gift that was never claimed, you can get the money back as a Amazon credit (mine was only 99 cents but that is ok)

The turning point for Hollywood is when they stopped trying to make entertainment and started trying to tell us how to live/think, almost everything coming out of Hollywood has some social message it seems anymore (subtle or otherwise)

I am trying to remember a contemporary romance I read some time back, some sort of Accidentally Pregnant type where she shows up in his office in the first chapter or so and immediately throws up in his waste basket. Anyone remember this?

You have to keep telling yourself she never had a social life due to her illness so she really does not know how to interact with people as a healthy person.

Heroine has to grow on you, she is more likable by the end with a couple of near TSTL moments :)

Also read
A Meddle of Wizards which was really good but left me wanting more, looks to be the start of a trilogy but no cliffhanger at least but I did feel a bit of a Tolkien vibe in places but I think this is going to be a great series/trilogy.

Just finished book 2 of a series
The Billionaire's Unexpected Baby and it did not live up to book 1 IMHO.
Let me start with saying I loved book 1 in this series
69 Million Things I Hate About You and hoped this one would be equally entertaining with a challenging romance , witty banter and a great story ......... it was SO close .
Could have been 5 Stars so very easy with a wee bit more reality and just let Brooks be the Daddy instead of bringing in a 3rd party for some weird mental "ménage à trois" which ruined the story. I know this is fiction but this was some rainbow fantasy that did not hold up BUT since I did read it all hoping for a better ending than I got I am giving it 3 Stars instead of 4 mainly because it left me feeling cheated with the ending.

I have no interest in seeing Star Wars. I lost track of what was going on a few movies ago. Although according to my nephew none of those movies are par..."Uh, what she said :) I stopped at Star Wars movie #4 and should have just stopped at the first 3 IMHO

Just to repeat
The Highwayman is on sale for $1.99 (I paid $8 for it) and is a steal at any price, it was the first historical romance I found worth reading in many years when I got it but be warned, you will be addicted to this story (the books in this series are are all linked loosely to each other) and the next one
The Hunter may be one of the best historical fiction ever IMHO but they will all cost you $8 :)
The Highwayman can be read as a stand alone since each book in the series does have a complete story but you get to see past characters in the subsequent books (another thing I like)
Vinity wrote: "Gabapentin..."I had no problem with Gabapentin (took it for about 2 years after my bout with shingles) it was the time release formula called GRALISE that cost X10 and all it did was allow you to take it once a day instead of 3 times. If any doctor ever tries to prescribe GRALISE unless you are really lazy or covered in money Gabapentin is the same thing in a non-time release formula and costs about a tenth as much. I don't remember it making me sleepy but it has been awhile
HappyBookWorm2020 wrote: "Could someone tell me what the background is for Thea Harrison's story in Amid the Winter Snow? What is the country of Ys? Is this referencing a location from another book of hers?"Not sure if it links to any of her other stories, seems to be a stand alone but it might be using her Elder Races universe loosely. I want to say I read that someplace

For those who enjoyed
69 Million Things I Hate About You (which I did) the next book in the series is up for preorder
The Billionaire's Unexpected Baby
