222868 This was FREE today for everyone and it had great reviews so obviously I had to have it, now all I have to do is find time to read it :) Bite Me the top review does give me cause for some concern but seems to be in a minority

222868 If you are looking for some REALLY good urban fantasy I can truly recommend Blood Kissed immediately followed by Hell's Bell only 20% into the second one and already totally hooked into the story.

222868 re: Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon if you have not read the first 2 books I am going to guess you can't get the full enjoyment since they do build loosely upon the previous books.

Now that would be truly embarrassing. We should all calculate our annual ratios of read:bought."

I refuse to do this because I might be more shocked than I already suspect :)

222868 I take some drugs for mild RA but they do suppress your immune system a bit so with the this flu epidemic I have been reducing my exposure with all kinds of things like grocery delivery and Walmart pickup where you don't have to go into the store (and a lot of hand washing) and so far been able to keep healthy. When you work you don't have a lot of those options sadly and kids bring it in (remember those days well, they brought every disease that was going around home for us)

222868 I finished Blood Kissed and it really was great, almost 5 Star but a bit short of that , good 4+. I hope to start the 2nd book Hell's Bell in the morning but I have a rain lamp I have to take apart and work on first :)

222868 The series sadly ended with Acheron for me, tried to read a few more but they were largely forgettable and just versions of "tortured hero" and got tiresome and boring IMHO. For a series I thought was one of the best being written it was sad, still is .....

222868 @LAB - Thanks for mentioning Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon I had been waiting on it but oddly it was already approved (you usually have to request books from St Martin unless the publisher sends you a pre-approved widget). Anyway I grabbed it, so far I am really liking the series with some very minor complaints.

222868 That is like the dark turn that last Drake Sisters book took, was not expecting something so dark when I started it compared to the other books in the series.

222868 Well it might be a bit early but so far Blood Kissed is VERY good :) This is at the 35% mark

222868 re: Christine Feehan - I have never been able to enjoy any of her books after the Drake Sisters series, IMHO taken as a total series it is still heads above anything else she has written (even with the horrible change of tone in that last book). It has been maybe 10 years since I read that last book and I still remember huge parts of it and the unique solution to the "evil guy" was kewl.

222868 Well to prove that once again I have no willpower, saw this one being raved about on one of the authors FB pages and since it was 99 cents I had to have it, hopefully it will be as good as the hype :)

222868 Just got an email notice that the (last?) "grave" book Summoned to the Thirteenth Grave (Charley Davidson Series) has been pushed back to 1 Feb 2019, not sure what the original date was?

222868 I have a good bit of time for "my" books after the first week of March so looks like Tairen Soul series will be on a marathon unless they fail to excite :) I can't wait to start Lake Silence and Burn Bright (which oddly has 81 reviews for a book not released yet???) seems on Goodreads people post a lot of crap about books they have never read or they hope to read in the future.

222868 Well since I had already promised Keri Arthur that I would review Hell's Bell my OCD required me to buy Blood Kissed so I could read it first so that will be the reading for tonight and tomorrow

222868 Finished Cajun Crazy and it was a 3.5/4 Star reading. Great story and told wonderfully but the places she could have really added to the story by adding some needed drama she failed a bit IMHO. Also some very minor plotlines were never really closed out. Still enjoy the series and will read them but when you have to tell people her books about Viking Vampire Angels are her best work they think you are crazy :)

One of the things I hate when reviewing is a plot that is largely (or even totally at times) based on a "Character A does not tell Character B something that is not really that important but could end the story in a few paragraphs"

I have seen this used to write whole novels and then the truth is told and the book ends in a few paragraphs.
