222868 Sometimes when accepting books to review you get books you really are not in the mood for but you took the book so you need to read it so instead of reading A Meddle of Wizards I am starting one of those promised reviews on Kiss Kiss Bang which starts out kinda gross and depressing but I did read book 1 in the series and it was really good.

222868 @Karen - everything I have read says it will only be 13 books but there are always spin-offs :)

222868 I finished The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride and it is a great book from KU and I polished it off in 1 day because it was so addicting and enjoyable. Highly recommended (should write a review but feeling lazy) I thought I might like the series but see that each book is a different author and none of the others looked as appealing. Now got to see what is next, couple of authors twisted my arm and I bought Uprooted and hope it lives up to the hype they gave it, I have found that many times authors fall in love with the writing and don't notice the story sux sometimes :)

222868 Well I finished Murmurs of Insanity and it was exceptional as expected but a bit dark and tragic so I was supposed to start Kiss Kiss Bang but I needed something a bit lighter (or a LOT lighter) so I grabbed one recommended here The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride for some laughs hopefully

She is really generous about giving out ARCs to almost everyone, :) I read those reviews after your post and it makes me want to get to it but still plowing through my murder mystery Murmurs of Insanity which is too good to scan or sit aside LOL

My car is my 2nd biggest expense, these 3 dogs are breaking the bank in vet bills :) Blue Cross was very unsympathetic to my plight when I asked about claiming them as dependents LOL

222868 I assume (and should not) that my extended warranty will cover most if not all but it is a 3rd party warranty so that is never a clear cut thing. Already had to go get it from the dealer who claimed it needed $6000 worth of repair (even I knew that was BS) which the warranty people refused to pay and took it to the place the warranty people said to take it and looks like I might not be out any money at all. I did have a software update done at the dealer and cost me $411 and seems to have made the Blind Side function worse so I will have to go back there when I get the bearing fixed (soon as they figure out which bearing it is) and I found out as great as they are hyped to be EVERYTHING about a Volvo costs 2-3 times more, my oil change today (usually about $50-60) was $124 and took 2 guys to do it (that was NOT an overcharge) but I can go 6000 miles on it since it required me to use the most expensive oil they had in the shop but divide that in half (since my other cars get changed at 3000 miles) I guess it is about the same but it shocked me. NOTE: I should mention this car holds almost 8 quarts of oil (expensive oil) so again, price is not as bad as it sounds at first LOL

222868 I have been busy and having car troubles and STILL am reading Murmurs of Insanity which is an exceptional book but I have been reading it in snips for 3-4 days now. Want to finish and move on but you can't scan in these books or you miss something important.

222868 Well I live and vote in Alabama and a win by less than 1.5% when a LOT of people stayed home they were so disgusted is not exactly a big win and the fact that neither of them got 50% in a 2 man race should give you an idea of the quality of both candidates :) (the write in of other names of almost 2% is a record LOL) We heard a lot about Roy Moore but his opponent is a bit of a joke also and was nothing but a name on the ballot until Roy Moore's past surfaced (or the allegations if you prefer). You should have seen the commercials for both sides. What we know here in Alabama is that even with the media and people all over the country telling us crap we know is not true, the real election will be in 2 years when we will have (hopefully) 2 actual candidates. This was once again another race of who was worst not who was best and again, the fact that neither candidate could get 50% in a 2 man race to me says volumes.

First and last political post for me here.

222868 I am reading Murmurs of Insanity tonight and I have read a couple of the other Moriah Dru/Richard Lake books and I always am amazed that I forget how really excellent they are until I start reading them again, kinda sneak up on you and if I remember correctly they have the tiniest bit of paranormal in them (she finds lost/dead/kidnapped kids usually) so if you want a great mystery grab one of them but since the romantic parts happened in order it would be best to start with The Devil Laughed the first 2 books were with another publisher and twice the price, I stated with The Devil Laughed and had no problem (this and the rest of the books were $3.99

222868 Since The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride: A Fantasy Holiday Romance was free on KU and I had some slots I grabbed it but looking a the other books in this series they looked a bit less enticing than this one.

222868 @Carol - you can binge on The Blood Prince series for a long time and do it cheap if you have KU

I finished The Black Tide and loved how she ended the series up but I needed something with humor so I went ahead and grabbed A Duke in Shining Armor and chapter 1 was fun, more like insanity a bit but I am really enjoying it.

222868 I hate it when you are reading a book and you just know something terrible is going to happen, I am at a place like that with The Black Tide and I love the trilogy (this is the last one) it has played havoc on my nerves :) One of those where the heroine better damn well have an HEA because her life has kinda sucked (Keri Arthur assured me it does or I might have skipped this last book)
