I don't know if any of you read Louise Bay but I have read a couple of her books (all contemporary romance) just as kind of something to refresh my mind and I loved these 2, well done and enjoyable:
The British KnightDuke of Manhattanand since I am in a rut I think I will buy one of these tonight, got a few dollars in saved shipping credits:
King of Wall StreetPark Avenue PrinceIMHO they are very well done, since I bought them myself just for enjoyment I did not write any review, wish I had now since
The British Knight was really a great book

I was sent this by an author who I reviewed another book for over a year ago and really did not expect much but it was AMAZING, really loved it and stayed up way past my bedtime reading it. Has a good ending spot while leaving a ton of things to look forward to in the next book. I think I liked it so much because it was similar in tone and theme to "Vampire For Hire" only better written (hence the $5 price tag). If you have $5 to spend I would really recommend this one NOTE: At least at this time there is no romance, she is just a really good "Dirty Harriet" type of heroine. Kicks ass and takes names :) She has a great teenage kid who is driving her crazy and another kid staying with her that I can't say a lot about to avoid being spoilerish. This is book 1 and it can only get better :)

re: Mark Lawrence
The Broken Empire Trilogy: Prince of Thorns / King of Thorns / Emperor of Thorns I actually bought each book as it came out and waited until they were complete until I started it and glad I did, the wait would have been agonizing. I am doing the same thing with the "Sisters" I already bought the first 2 and now I have to wait until the final book is published, I have to say I did the same thing with his "Red Queen's War" trilogy and at the end I was a bit disappointed and found it somewhat forgettable where "The Broken Empire" will be with me until I am 6 feet under :) I can only hope the "Sisters" come close to that level. Even with that being said "The Broken Empire" is NOT for everyone, very violent and dark (something I usually hate) but the reasons behind everything and his ultimate goals make it unforgettable.

That whole Disgraceful Dukes series was very entertaining

I can't believe it, what I considered to be one of the best reviews I ever read (not one of mine) has been removed from Goodreads :( I should have copied it into a Word document :(

Well, I spent the last 30 minutes looking for a review of
Stung since it had one of the best reviews ever but it looks like it has been removed, anyone have a link to that review or a copy? It started out with a quiz which I loved :)

re: Heather Graham - I have read several books by her and they were all good but for some odd reason I get them and everything looks more "shiny" and they end up in my TBR for months.
(Still think The Witness is one of the best things Nora Robert has written in years)

Just finished this and poor artwork and instead of the ending being rushed the beginning felt rushed BUT once it gets into the story I loved it, it is on KU and you might want to give it a shot. You might love it :)
Torn Asunder: A Supernatural Action Adventure Opera

Well I am truly addicted to this Immortal Highlander series and started on the 4th book but I neglected to mention that the bad guys here (cursed vampires) are VERY dark and brutal so while I enjoy the story I almost hate reading some of these parts, the author must have gotten some feedback since it seems that the violence and cruelty have lessened a bit in those scenes with the vampires. One of the things that I am a sucker for is dying/diseased people that are healed in the process of magic/vampires/etc and each of these books allows a dying/sick person to get completely healed in the trip back through time (which is a bit different for each one). So I will be reading
Tormod (Immortal Highlander Book 4): A Scottish Time Travel Romance and trust me I seldom like time travel book at all but these have captured me :) I hate there is only 1 more book at present and so now I will be frustrated to wait on another book in this series and the Junkyard Druid series which I also fell in love with but still waiting on another book.

Well I had a break in my reading schedule and if you have Amazon Prime there was an decent short story/novella called
The Victims' Club which was a good quick read but nothing to brag about. I grabbed the 3rd book in the Immortal Highlanders series (FREE on KU) and still loving this series, I was wondering how the author was going to take the most unlikable character from book 1 and redeem him and she did a good job in this 3rd book
Evander (Immortal Highlander Book 3): A Scottish Time Travel Romance , just so you understand, this guy was so bad I almost just quit the series than read about him. The fact that this 3rd book was one of the most popular in the series made me curious, only 15% into it and already liking it a lot.

@Vinity - "where the ancestors of her series meet and see the initials of their great great? grandparents in the oak tree?"
That was the final chapter of her last historical
The Legend of Lyon Redmond which looked like it would start a new series with the descendants of the characters in the Pennyroyal Green series but it never happened.

@Vinity - "I finished Hot in Hellcat Canyon, it wasn't terrible but it didn't live up to her historicals."
I was afraid that would be the case, I think I already bought that one and it lives in my TBR someplace.

Well I was never a big fan of all those "highlander" books with kilts and swooning wenches (much less time travel) but this one was great and a quick read, I liked it good enough I got the next one. If you have KU it is a good choice for a quick entertaining PNR read
Lachlan (Immortal Highlander Book 1): A Scottish Time Travel Romance

Buddy was a Brazilian Sun Conure and was about 15 years old, I had him for almost 14 years and thought he would live at least another 8-10 years or more, still have no idea what happened but for anyone who is not familiar with birds, they will hide any illness if possible which is why so many bird owners are shocked when their pet suddenly dies. Still not sure if I want to get another one or not, very mixed feelings but the house seems much too quiet without him :( He pretty much hated everybody but me ....

re:
Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon actually was the best so far IMHO but I tire of reoccurring bad guys also but seemed like that was going to be the story until the last book but this book gave me hope we may see something a bit different

Well I guess I was expecting something a bit more mediocre from
Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon but turned out I loved it and it really did lift my spirits a bit. Gave it 4 Stars since I felt there was a hint of a rushed ending which left a plot hole I thought. Still can't wait for the next one.
