222868 I am REALLY trying hard not to make this one a DNF I Am Justice but the heroine is kinda psycho and the hero is kinda boring. Still reading but it needs to pick up, the first couple of chapters were good but the parts between 25-50% were either full action or boring (including the most boring and totally unreal conversations before/during sex ever) . It has promise but I am losing interest fast.

It takes a few chapters but you should love it :) The rest of the series did not appeal to me but that one was great !

222868 OK, WAY back in the past shortly after I joined the Amazon group a few of us were reading a series called Paladins of Darkness - stories written by Alexis Morgan that was dropped by the publisher (back before I even owned a Kindle) and she finished the series on her web-page but I stumbled across this today and looks like Simon & Simon bought up her idea of a new series based loosely on the original series, I preordered it

222868 @HBW - I was wondering if the rest of the Devil Riders series was well done since it represents a good sized financial investment :)

222868 Well I have been doing a marathon of The Summoner series and starting book 5 The Sacrifice and I have REALLY enjoyed the series, got a little of everything and the sex is pretty much "closed door" with it left open a crack :) The story keeps changing and keeps you on your toes and makes you mad/glad/sad/happy/etc IMHO that means it is well done.

222868 For those who like pools/contests Grace Draven shared this link for best romance ever and this round you can choose as many as you like. I found many of them did not fit my idea of romance but this list was produced by fans writing in but the 2 biggest on my personal list were there "The Kraken King" and "Angel's Blood", lot of historical romance on the list also and I clicked a lot of those :)

UPDATE: I read the rules closer and these are just the write in nominations, they have a "50 Best" list they will combine with the winners of this list to get to the next round. So if you don't see something you are sure should be on the list it may show up next round.

222868 @Mindy - YES! She is not the only one, I have read many books where the h is supposed to be some near genius but behaves like an idiot most of the book to the point the biggest fantasy in the book is her supposed intelligence.

222868 I am usually the same but so far (starting book #3) it has been done very well and no pain or sneaking around and the 2 guys really like each other but I think the triangle may end in this book, one seems to be moving more and more into the "friend zone" :)

222868 @Mindy - re: Lacklan - once you get past the 50% mark or so the book gets better but it really sets up the world for the next 4 books which I really liked but you are not alone in a lot of people (including me) don't care for time travel plots but I did like this series (5 books) and I am reading the spin-off series which the jury is still out with me because each of the first 5 books were pretty close to stand alone but the spin-off leaves some future females in a very bad place which I did not care for and felt too much like "carrot/string" type plot but I might feel differently after the next book BUT I am really loving the The Soul Summoner Series: Books 1-3 much better than expected since getting 3 really good books for free seems impossible :)

It is action packed almost from page 2, you can clearly see that she was writing this as a finale and then had to turn a corner after the book was almost done due to her publisher deciding they DID want 2 more books but all things considered it was great and you learn a bit more about her past. It also is the first book in the series to have mild cliffhangers (2 of them actually) which can probably be attributed to the story line that this was the last book and then things changed. BTW, when I say mild I mean more of "You can't stop there!" rather than screaming, throwing your Kindle and sending hate mail :)

222868 Best line I have read in awhile :

h - "Why do you carry TWO guns?"
H - "because I don't have 3 hands"

222868 It is more urban fantasy but a bit of romance and don't let the love triangle throw you, it is well done which is a rarity and one of the guys actually has a girlfriend (who our heroine HATES) it makes it all fun and no overdone alpha male crap after the guys get to know each other a bit :)

222868 I finished The Soul Summoner and it was great plus it did something no other book I can recall has pulled off, had a love triangle that did not just piss me off. The 2 guys have kinda love/hate thing going but both wish the other one would find a job someplace far away :) minimum romance and what little (almost none) sex was pretty much closed door. I would highly recommend this one, moving right on to book 2 The Siren and BTW you can read book 1 and never read anymore, has a pretty solid ending.

All free on KU but this is the best way to get first 3 books The Soul Summoner Series: Books 1-3

222868 OK, this is another of my "I think this is gonna be really good" alerts :) You can get books 1-3 for free on KU and I have started it tonight and I may have a problem getting to bed if it does not get boring pretty soon. I was just looking for something to get rid of my book hangover from reading Dark Queen until about 2AM last night, I think I overshot the runway LOL this is really good so far
