Book 2 is already picking up and holding my interest much better, the only thing being you don't know who she can trust in regards to some of the secondary characters but I guess that will all be revealed eventually :)

Starting on book 2
How to Claim an Undead Soul and hoping the action picks up, I was not that impressed with book 1 but it did lay out a whole new world and gives this whole series some depth but I am ready for her to kick some ass, I was never a fan of heroes/heroines that lost almost every battle but in this case there are reasons which hopefully will be resolved soon.

The book I want to read today:
How to Save an Undead LifeThe book I am SUPPOSED to read today:
Mark of the Fallen (life is so unfair)

And in important news, reading
Wolf Rain and still loving her writing. In addition to "end of the world" plots the romance seems just as interesting and she writes romance in such a manner it seems to strike a chord with me even in the books many people were not that crazy about. This one seems better than some of the more recent ones but that may just be my bad memory :)

In all my friends on FB and RL there is a total of ONE person that I can discuss opposing views with in an intelligent manner. I am not sure exactly when we become such a nation. Hence another reason I tend to stick to my books LOL, I can pick something that fits my mood and enjoy my fictional world. I watch about 30 minutes of news in the mornings to make sure I am not clueless and check some headlines from Google at random times but I am more interested in dogs rescued from hot cars than any political battle since both sides lie through their teeth.
TINNGG wrote: "I've noted the more time people (in general) devote to politics, the less productive they seem to be."Truly, it becomes an addition with some folks. Every conversation has to have politics injected into it and the one conversation thing I hate because it makes me have to be rude
"Politician X did XXX which is horrible , don't you agree?"
and too many times I have to say "well actually I don't" which just turns ugly most times. Why is so hard for some people to just realize that it is ok for you NOT to agree with me and not make us mortal enemies LOL

@Vinity - A few of us were complaining about how expensive vet bills were and Ann Silvernale replied with this which I thought you would agree with :)
"Ann Silvernale - Douglas C. Meeks honey you can’t be in the vet bill hall of fame until you’ve owned a horse"

I think I need to block Elizabeth Hunter from my twitter feed, seems like 90% of what she puts out these days is political crap and as her involvement grows her writing seems to be suffering IMHO. I used to be one of her biggest fans but her writing has gone from exceptional to average at best. If I want politics (and I seldom do) I can turn on the TV and have a professional liar tell it to me.

I just grabbed book 1
How to Save an Undead Life yesterday, sounds like a great series

After reading SF/Fantasy/Urban Fantasy I needed a break so I grabbed
A Week to Be Wicked she seems to be consistently good in my experience.

. It was good! 4* for me. Next one is out in October, I believe."I liked it also, it was not exceptional but it was entertaining and NOT what I thought it would be and even though I gave it 4 Stars she took some shortcuts in the training I thought, her learning curve was pushing my acceptance. Still can't wait until the next one.

Well watched the GoT finale and it wasn't terrible but in comparisons to the previous seasons it was weak and disappointing.

@Diane - If it is a trilogy I buy the books and then wait until they are all released before I start reading them usually. Series I try to let it stay ahead of me if possible but that is not always possible, especially if reviewing.

I finished all the Game of Thrones except for the finale (saving it for tomorrow) but this looks rushed IMHO and I am getting prepared to be disappointed.

OK, I had to give it up and get an HBO subscription so I can watch GOT all together over the next few days, could not believe the finale was already here, I am sensing a real disappointment

re: Patricia Briggs, picked this off twitter tonight
"In case you missed Anne Sowards's Tweet
dear readers, Patricia Briggs's STORM CURSED debuts at #2 on the NYT Combined list thanks to YOU. Thank you so much for reading and recommending her books!! @Mercys_Garage

I see most people did like me and used FictFact as the best way to get "nest book" info :)

@Kristi - Thanks for the offer but I am a total snob now and pretty much have to have it on my kindle LOL, I will catch it on sale or save up some "No-Rush" credits.
Funny how just a few years ago I was telling people how I was going to stick with my DTB since this new Kindle thing was not the same LOL (the death of the 4 for 3 deals helped me along the ebook route)

Apparently you can download your info until June 1st, but I couldn’t get it to work."I had a feeling it would be going down, I have to admit I have not really used it much in the last year or 2. I used to send them donations I used it a LOT, things change sadly. It was good about notifying me about new releases in series I had listed.

Somehow it just seems like thievery to charge $10 for an ebook of a novel published in 1926 but I am told it is exceptional so sooner or later I will get it :)
