I've been on vacation but sick - always happens this time of year:( so i've been working on the tbr pile and read three SWAT were pnrs (To Love a Wolf,Wolf Trouble,In the Company of Wolves or which ever ones were 3,4 and 5 in the series) they were pretty good considering there is 'the one' for every wolf since they still have to work for their HEAs and even though guys are alphas they aren't the stereotype pushy kind that completely annoy me now days.

Frisco, I just finished Dragon Blood. Can you believe that this is book 14? And that she is finally pulling in Michael and Molly? I liked learning more Dragon secrets and more about Grandmother - still want to know more though about the dragon and the tiger.
Still working through a Cfusie collection, today was Bet Me. I enjoyed it, but boy were their families awful.

Been looking for light fun reds with good ensembles of supporting characters so I read Meet Me at Beachcomber Bay by jill mansell - she is always good for a slew of HEAs in for the main and side characters - Welcome to Temptation and Faking It by Jeniffer Crusie. Faking It was fun con man meets his match in an art forger and her family is great.

I finished the 2nd Blackthorn and Grim, and enjoyed them very much - they are developing nicely. I still had nits with the unfolding of Galais' part if the story - I didn't end up feeling sorry for her, she was still a spoiled child even at her age.

I finished my audio Bite Me, the reader really made this. I did have a bit of trouble with the smexy times, reading it is one thing listening to it ... Just doesn't work for me. The ending was a bit abrupt. Now on to the Soulwood book, i've been really looking forward to more of Nell:)
Well my away kid is done with finals and my husband went down and picked her up so now she's home. yay, i dont have to worry about that now! Thanks for all your well wishes. I read a jennifer crusie book last night to try to keep my mind occupied, i know some of you were fans. I liked a previous story by her - this one was okay Getting Rid Of Bradley. Its in a set so i will likely read another.

More often though it's a decent set and wham, the conflict melts away or there's instalove and bam, it's over. It's kind of a Bummer when the set up is really good and you like the author and the story that could have been will never be told.

I saw you talking about McMaster's dragon story and discovered that she had another story - not connected- in this collection
Myths and Magic: An Epic Fantasy and Speculative Fiction Boxed Set. This story was also good but more fantasy. I do like her stories. This collection is free on KU. I haven't read any of the other stories yet.

It is unusual to get them so late, we normally get a bit of rain in November which would have helped. Everything is very dry due to years of drought and we've had intense winds which causes things to spread quickly especially at night and the areas have difficult terrain which makes it hard for the ground crews and leaves no places to really establish fire breaks. They are expecting it to be several weeks before the fire is contained.
I am fairly far from the closet edge of the fire at this point, but we are in the path of all the smoke, and the air quality is bad enough that they are distributing masks telling people to stay indoors and suggesting that people with health issues leave the area.
I've been MIA, spending a lot of my time tracking the fires just to the south of us in CA - I started out really worried because they started closer to my kid who is away at college without a car. Now it is just between her and us so it might be challenging to get her home after finals. But my worries are paltry in light of all the people displaced right now.In my little bit of book time I am nibbling at my audio tbr pile Prophecy which was okay, steampunk and magic with a thin romance, and now Bite Me which is zombies and werewolves - promising so far. After i finish this i have Nell's book too. Glad that you all are liking it.

I am not a super fan of historicals, but then that calls to mind regencies with the clothing descriptions, marriage marts...
I do like the steam punk twists to histories though they are like historical UF. I just read an inferesting one Breath of Earth set in San Fran at the time of the big quake it had magic and action and a touch of romance.
