22225 You know, if one doesn't get you, it seems the other will. I was able to get by the ubs without getting anything, but I couldn't resist stopping at the library to see what they might have for sale. I ended up walking out with: Mr. Was by Pete Hautman The Hippopotamus Pool (An Amelia Peabody Mystery, #8) by Elizabeth Peters The Laughter of Dead Kings (Vicky Bliss, #6) by Elizabeth Peters The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien Five-Minute Mysteries by Ken Weber Further Five-Minute Mysteries by Kenneth J. Weber

22225 Anyone else ever feel like used book stores are like whirlpools or black holes? They just suck you in? :-) I went to the mall to do some clothes shopping and instead of clothes I ended up stopping at Half Price and coming home with: What Angels Fear A Sebastian St. Cyr Mystery (Sebastian St. Cyr, #1) by C.S. Harris Why Mermaids Sing (Sebastian St. Cyr, #3) by C.S. Harris The Snake, the Crocodile and the Dog by Elizabeth Peters Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson

Well that certainly trumps the two I got for four dollars at Half Price. Nice haul! :-)

Absolutely right. In fact, I just got back from there, again. I went on Saturday as well, but this time I brought in some old magazines and a couple of books to sell. I thought I'd only get a buck or two and was pleasantly surprised they gave me $10! So of course I had to go and spend some of it. :-) I picked up two more books,

One Bite With A Stranger (The Others, #6) by Christine Warren & Naked Once More by Elizabeth Peters , for four dollars. That brings me to a total of 15 new books so far this month.

lol, thanks Petra. To be honest, I never expected so many agreements so quickly to my question. :-)

Anyone who wants to add a vote to the list, just go here: http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/67...
22225 I was just wonder if there are any super popular titles currently out that even though it seems everyone else loves them SO much, you don't want to read them at all, much less buy them?

For me, I've just heard so many people gushing over Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series and Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series that I am just totally turned off, I have no interest in even trying them now. How about you? Got any like that?

22225 Only 2. I have a rule that I won't spend more than five dollars on a used book from Thriftbooks, and there were only two on my wishlist that were under five bucks, otherwise I probably would have bought more.

22225 I couldn't help it, I felt like I was going through withdrawal. I've hardly bought any books this month, I just had to place an order with Thriftbooks to relieve the suffering. But no more for the rest of the month, really! :-)

Petra, now there you've got a bookstore I would love to visit, one that can act as a sort of social hall for the neighborhood as well as a place of business. :-)

22225 Just to confirm, are we looking for a list of fiction read in college or nonfiction to learn things you would in college? Or am I completely wrong? :-)

Ladies, you do know there is a book supplier that can be just as relaxing place and not cost you anything, right? It's called a public library. :-)
