Yeah, I don't think I'll be buying any more books this month, either. ;-)

22225 Danie, here's a thought. Could you keep buying and just store your new purchases at your finace's place until you two get your own place together? I just hate to think of a fellow book buyer going through withdrawal. :-)

If you haven't read it already, you are going to love The Body Finder. I just got and started reading my copy of Desires of the Dead.

22225 Man, it looks like my store isn't wasting any time. They're Going Out of Business sale starts today. A sale that I'm sure to go to, but a lousy reason to have to have it though. :-(

22225 I was right, unfortunately. My local store is one of the ones being closed. :-( This really is bad on so many levels. Loss of jobs, loss of business for the town, loss of the bookstore itself. Well, every cloud does have a silver lining, even if it is slightly tarnished. No more town bookstore is likely to increase use of the public library where I work.

22225 Seen the headlines? "Borders files for bankruptcy, to close stores" http://www.chicagotribune.com/busines...

Think Borders is going to survive? To be honest, I've got a bad feeling about this. At the least, I think my local store is going to be one of the closers. How about yours?

22225 I've got more evidence I am definately a Book Buying Addict. Normally I don't like to drive in the dark or drive on snowy roads, but tonight I did both in order to get the last copy that my local Borders had of Blood Wyne (Sisters of the Moon, #9) by Yasmine Galenorn . With my 40% off coupon and my 10% off membership, I got this $7.99 paperback for $4.71. Not bad to pay less than 5 bucks for a new book. :-)

22225 I bought a couple of books at Half Price over the weekend and discovered after I got them home that one of them My Soul to Keep was signed by the author Rachel Vincent

22225 On to the second month. Share what you buy in February.

Sue, if you haven't read it yet, you will love Darling Dahlias, it is a great new series from Albert, and I believe the second in the series is coming out sometime this year.

22225 Carmel wrote: "I just ordered Empress of the World by Sara Ryan and Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. And I promised myself not to buy any books this month :( I suck at making promises to myself."

A promise like that is a pie crust promise, easily made, easily broken, but delicious to do so. ;-)
22225 Tricia wrote: "I agree, Joseph! What's that saying? I buy books first and if there's any money left I buy food. Something like that! lol"

You're thinking of one of my all-time favorite quotes, words to live by said by Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus, "When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes." Smart man! :-)
22225 Tricia wrote: "I've never counted how many books I buy, but I was curious a few years ago about how much money I spent on books. My husband and I were discussing who spent the most money on their 'hobbies'. (I do..."

Funny you say that. About a year or so ago I started keeping track too of my book spending each month, and I ended up spending a total of $1,442.48 on books last year, about an average of $120 a month. But for a necesity for life, money should be no object, right? :-)

"Melody didn't look much like her mother, or her brother and sister. From what Jane could tell, she took after her father's side of the family, both in appearance and temperament. Jane had never actually met Eddy Dumont- he'd been living in Florida for the past seven years- but she'd seen pictures."

Plain and simple, Tayla, a true book buying addict can't resist nor should you want to, really. :-) Library sales are awesome places to fill in your collection for cheap prices. And don't feel bad about owning so many books you haven't read. The great thing is that when the right time comes to read a certain title, you'll have it right there waiting for you.
