Kimberly, I don't know if this will help or hurt your "argument" with your fiance, but I'm going to be 35 in November and I currenly have over 4500 books. Think you can another 3000 or so in about 15 years? :-) (Another reason I am kind of glad I am a bachelor, no one to really stop me from my love of buying and reading books. Although mom and dad do still tend to nag.)

I kind of know where you are coming from. I too am a librarian and love to buy books. When I was in school for my Masters I designed my own database using Access so I could practice my cataloging using my own collection. I still do it for the fun of it and considering I have been doing this now for about six years on a collection that has almost doubled in size from its original 2500 to about 5000, I still get plenty of practice. :-)

Lucky you. :-) I just finished reading it myself, an interesting book.

"The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake" is a very interesting read, it's kind of a bizarre story but still interesting.

New to this group and I definitely am a book-buying addict. I'm currently trying a book buying ban since my birthday was recently and my TBR pile nearly doubled. I want to last till H..."
Shauna, I just finished "Sweetly" and to be honest, it wasn't any special. It was a good read, but waiting for it to come out in paperback would not be a bad idea, I don't think it is worthy buying hardcover anyway.
Regarding books I want to buy but am resisting, my list is about 150 books long. I have a special list of books I would like to get, but only if I can buy them used for a good price or new for a used price. They're books I'd like to have, but I can survive without them until I can get them really cheap.

At the moment, yeah, but a child should behave the same way in a library as in a bookstore and a parent should be the one to make sure they behave.

"Please don't go, Madison," Dodie said in a soft, pleading voice.
