thoughts while reading:"When he slept, he dreamed: dark disturbing dreams of blood and broken promises." I wonder if he's referencing his promise to Lyanna.
"They are quite a pair, Stannis and Renly. The iron gauntlet and the silk glove." I'm really curious to learn more about both of the remaining Baratheons.

I just finished rewatching season one and I love it! I see why it was so easy to get hooked. I think the casting was pretty spot on.
I find it interesting that they get those last names based off of where they were born and not who the father was.

Better to be ahead than behind! lol I can't wait to start the next book.
Right?! I think too many people still respected him. He was quite known and definitely a good guy. Like he said-being in the Kingsguard was his only goal in life.
thoughts while reading:Wow, Lord Slynt was totally bought! lol
I wonder why they wanted to boot Ser Barristan out. I mean there have been a few kings who died on his watch, but one of the Kingsguard KILLED a king and they want him to be the leader?
Kind of impressed she's putting herself out there for the sake of her family. Way to step up Sansa!
thoughts while reading:I think that the clansmen are kind of smart in letting everyone get a voice. It is a bit of a time suck, but it's not a horrible idea.
This inn is definitely a focal point for things happening.
"They followed me home, Father... May I keep them? They don't eat much." lol
Tywin is seriously sneaky.

I love rereading them. You get so much more out of them the more you read them. I've noticed more this time around than previous reads!
thoughts while reading:Moat Cailin sound really interesting. It would definitely be a spooky place to visit.
I kind of like that Robb isn't 100% confident of what he's doing. He is only 15 and trying to lead an army. He has good instincts though!
Catelyn really likes to slyly convince her guys to do what she thinks is best (not that what she thinks is best is necessarily wrong).
And she still is putting other people ahead of her getting back to her younger children. It's understandable to want to see her dad and brother, but poor Rickon!
thoughts while reading:So Drogo goes off to hunt "the great white lion" and Robert went off to hunt a "white hart". I wonder what it is about white animals that is so mystical and sought after. Is it because they're unique/rare/different? (probably.)
He only acted impatiently so why did Dany think Jorah was acting odd?
I'm curious about Hodor as well. I think it's interesting that they call him Hodor even though that's not his real name. Maybe we'll learn more about him and why that's the only word he says later on in the series.
thoughts while reading:I can only imagine the struggle Bran has had dealing his injury. Like he said, he is basically more helpless than Rickon who he considers a baby.
"A man's worth is not marked by a ser before his name." This is the second time someone has implied that being a knight does not mean they are honorable.
I still feel so bad for Rickon. He keeps getting left behind by everyone!
I find it interesting that Bran points out Sansa lost her wolf when Robb is questioning her logic/actions/words.
I wonder if any Stark will ever return to Winterfell after they head south. They don't exactly have a great track record with this yet (Brandon, Ned's father, Ned, Lyanna, etc.).
"The old gods have no power in the south. The weirwoods there were all cut down, thousands of years ago. How can they watch your brother when they have no eyes?"
I think that's part of Varys's mystique. It's hard to say who he's really rooting for. He doesn't seem to be straightforward about much.
thoughts while reading:I wonder what happened to the other 5 men that are missing (including Benjen).
"The things we love destroy us every time, lad. Remember that." Mormont is kind of on the cynical side, but I do see where he's coming from.
Jon questions how Ned would dishonor himself and commit treason, but yet he dishonored his wife by committing adultery. It definitely makes me question whether or not Ned really did. Everyone talks of his honor and how he's very straight laced.
I seriously don't like Alliser Thorne. He needs to give Jon a break already!
The hand that was still moving after being cut off makes me think of the Addams family. lol
♪ Leslie (aka Basesloaded32) wrote: "Yeah Sansa wants what nearly every young girl wants - A rich, cute, Prince/King. I am willing to cut her some slack. I was once young and naive too."
I agree her age has a lot to do with it. I just wish she was more aware of her family.
thoughts while reading:I wonder why they waited so long to ring the bells about Robert's death.
I wonder why Cersei didn't want Jeyne in the same room as Sansa. And why does Cersei want Jeyne out of the city?
"Her prince loved her. Nothing else mattered." UGH
I'm still not sure about Sansa. She is seriously obsessing over marrying Joffrey and basically throwing her own family under the bus!
thoughts while reading:And again with a Stark kid saying things aren't fair. lol
I wonder why Renly left so suddenly. All because he didn't get the answer he wanted from Ned?
Cersei just really really wants to be king.
Littlefinger!!!!! I knew I didn't like him.
