Matthew’s comments from the Reading List Completists group.

You can tell he was thinking series, but I only ever read the first one. And, in general, I have not heard great things about the books after the first two or three.

War and Peace has gone to a dark place . . . lots of hopelessness now. At the beginning, the people seemed to look at war as a glorious thing for the emperor and Russia.

Now, with the fall of Moscow . . . the people are desperate and are willing to turn on each other, back stab, etc.

Great! I read The Time Machine years ago, but I am willing to get into the discussion (I probably wont re-read since my TBR list is out of control!)

Ugh - I wonder if this is part of the new Goodreads settings. I added a picture today to change the group photo and it made me delete the old one first. I am pretty sure it didn't used to do that.

Looks like we will start Les Mis on April 1st then, since it was so close, we will start The Stand on July 1st.

I have given up keeping track! I think I may be in this part now . . .

Soooooo much war now - for a long time there was soooooo much peace!

Here is how the book breaks down to far (estimated)

75 pages of peace followed by 75 pages of war followed 250 pages of peace followed by 250 pages of war.

Been stuck at 24 votes for a few days . . . anyone out there waiting for the last minute to vote because we are getting close!?!?
