158858 This section is much better than the previous section. It is not dragging quite as much.

158858 This book is weird. This is my third Gaiman book and I am starting to think that Gaiman may not be for me . . .

I am maybe finally starting to see a full plot. Seems like it is mainly side stories that Shadow encounters and I am trying to figure out if they are supposed to just be interesting anecdotes or relate to the story as a whole.

158858 Yay - I made it to Book III - now, time for some more Flagg. I have about had it with Free Zone Committee meetings!

158858 Grrrr - for some reason, Goodreads will not let me add The Recognitions as an upcoming read! I will try later and see - but we are definitely reading it starting in January!

158858 Outlander did just squeak past The Recognitions - what a battle!

To compromise (and because I am such a nice guy), Outlander will be our October to December Big Read. The Recognitions will be our January to March big read!

Hopefully this compromise will be well received. Close battles and ties have been resolved this way in the past and everyone seemed satisfied! :)

158858 Way too many pages have gone by with only talk of Flagg and no more Vegas scenes. Having read the abridged and seen the mini-series, I know we will eventually get back there, but I want more action and less Free Zone Committee! At least something just blew up . . .

158858 I enjoy strange, but sometimes feel like Gaiman is getting too STRANGE strange for me . . .

Or - since we have more than 100 members who haven't voted yet - you should take you campaign on the road!

158858 As we have done in the past - to accompany the start of our next BIG read, we will be reading a shorter book (Under 250 pages) in October. Please stop by and vote in both polls, even if you don't think you will be able to participate. We love to see what the group mind thinks!

Books without votes after the first 24 hours the poll is up will be eliminated from contention.

158858 Reached a milestone - I am on page 818 of the unabridged version and there are 817 pages in the abridged version.

Also interesting to note - page 818 in the unabridged version corresponds with page 541 in the abridged version .

I see at least one vote has changed to Recognitions - looks like your campaign is working!

158858 I have not been a big fan of other Neil Gaiman books I have read - but this one is starting out pretty good!

158858 Very close right now between 3 titles! Vote even if you don't think you will participate. I want to see how this group feels about these big books!

158858 Hey now - I gave Atlas Shrugged 5 stars. I know it is controversial, but I really enjoyed it.
