ARGH! For some reason Goodreads still wont let me add The Recognitions as a to be read for our group Jan-March 2017! Everytime I do it it looks like it worked, but it is never there!

Story is starting to come together - I am still trying to create the town of Fingerbone in my head.
Well - just read a chapter about beating people - men beating women, women beating men, and watching the main female character going from being defiant about being beat to accepting of it . . . kinda twisted!
Started this a little early as my library hold came in. Not mach happening story-wise so far - just getting to know the characters - about 15% in.

This was okay - could be skewed by the fact that I am reading this as an adult and the last time I read Dahl I was a kid.

Just finished up part 2 - book is going quicker than I expected. Romantic element still not too apparent - still wondering about how Claire's marriage "back home" will affect that.
