Another good name - Agnes Deigh
Question - perhaps I missed it earlier in the book, but it suddenly became a big deal at the end of the chapter I just finished: Is Otto black?
The referred to him as the Moor at the party.

I am at page 188 - but only reading about 10 pages a day

Just finished today - not sure if you saw my review yet.
One thing that stood out to me was his introspection on some of the terrorists being females (in the movie, they were all male- no females until Die Hard 3, and then it was just one). I feel like the idea of being concerned about the terrorists being females is a bit antiquated now.

Recktall Brown . . . really?

Please vote in the February 2017 First Book in Series Poll
I have created a poll from all our lists where a must read book is the first in a series. Please vote on which series you would like to start, reread, etc. Participation in the actual read is not necessary if you vote - we just want to see where the group mind is!
Reminder - any books not receiving votes in the first 24 hours will be removed.

A little over half way - enjoying it, but mixing it up with my other books.
Carol wrote: "although many books are repeated http://betterbooktitles.com/"Oh! This is great! Hilarious! Thanks for sharing!

Amazed at the specifics they kept for the movie and how accurate they are - including some of the dialogue.
TheLongWait wrote: "The plot does develop, however it does so slowly. Hang in there."Oh, actually I am not minding it . . . it is just interesting how much time the author is spending on this relationship.

Lots of Esther and Wyatt not getting along . . . setting changed from Paris to New York

Up to 100 books now - takes awhile to make it through this list.

Now 18 from the Board list and 35 from the Reader's list

Hey! I upped my total to 6 in 2016!

Yeah - the Little Tony nickname is distracting. Actually having a hard time really feeling his leadership like you got with Alan Rickman.
I am kind of surprised by the extensive life introspection Leland goes through every few pages. You get lots of action and suddenly . . . deep thoughts.

In what I would call "Chapter II" we get a short introduction to Paris at the time Wyatt has moved their to paint. I am curious to see how much it was just setting the tone and atmosphere as opposed to actual story advancement. It seemed like a lot of large descriptive paragraphs interspersed with short bits of actual prose related to the storyline.

Good ol' ANTON Gruber!
The speech about terrorists sounds like Harrison Ford in Air Force One.

Trying to figure out the role of The Town Carpenter - important or just a passing symbol. For me, his role and story seemed conspicuously mysterious in part I.

Surprised by the departure of Aunt May so soon.

Gotta love the dated references - Leland's daughter makes $40,000 as the assistant to the head of an oil company!
