I made it to the end of part II! My favorite part of it was the last 10 pages or so . . . why did that part have to be only 10 pages while there was a 94 page rambling party I could not wait to end earlier in the section!?

Holy cow - I think the party is finally over! Yes, amusing at points. Still very confusing, though!

Longest Christmas party ever!

This was a quick and enjoyable read. It did not blow me quite as away as Dandelion Wine, but it was still very good!

Back in business! Just got the book back from the library. No chance I will remember what was going on, so just gonna dive back in!

Just started listening to the audiobook today. Finished the "prequel"
Dandelion Wine over the weekend - it was great!
I do tend to picture the actors that have the roles in the movies, even if I haven't see the movie but I am aware of what actor had the role. Also, my view of characters is skewed by the time period. I have "typical Victorian woman", "50's greaser", etc. in my head to reference as needed. I will say that usually if I see fan art after I read it does not reflect how I pictured the character.

Until this won and I added it, I did not realize that this is the second book in a series! If you want to read the first one first, check out
Dandelion Wine

Well, my checkout and renewals ran out at the library. So, they have to send it back to the library it came from and then that library has to send it back. Needless to say it will be a few weeks before I make more progress . . .

I think it is weird how society back then would consider Rabbit's behavior somewhat acceptable, maybe a little odd, but that everyone is pretty much sure his wife is certifiably insane.

Yeah - looks like Rabbit is into getting freaky. Also, I can really feel the 1950's/early 60's in the writing. I feel like I am watching an old movie.

As I try and never read ahead of time what a book is about, I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. So far it seems like a mid-life crisis story.
Fino wrote: "Kinda cool, yes. But unexciting too, no?"Excitement is definitely a word I have yet to associate with this book.

The section on counterfeiting money is kinda cool

I pushed through 25 more pages today! At 50%!

Getting closer to starting this - next on my list! Hold on Jennifer - I'll be here to discuss it with you!

I don't DNF - but at only 50% - it is oh so tempting!
Michael wrote: "I read 91 on that list but there are tons of repeats and there is no fucking way that The Hunger Games is on the same list as Ulysses. That would be like having Donald Trump in the damn White House..."Meh - its Amazon . . . probably based a lot on sales. I was actually intrigued to see how different each list is and I bet a report on the demographics that decided each would be interesting.
