The art was pretty interesting, with the shapes and the colors. It was a little puzzling at the beginning but easier to read when I knew the characters.

Just finished my bad reviews book and I need to wash my eyes. It's the worst book I read this year, with disturbing things for a 3rd person POV.
Side-reads:
- Legend, a nice dystopia with too much perfect heroes but a good world building; Les Demeurées, lent by my mom and a nice read; Nine Princes in Amber, an old fantasy book, short and with gentlemen-like characters, something I enjoyed a lot :)
- comic books: Revival, Vol. 5, always nice on the paranormal/zombie side; Asterios Polyp, a strange graphic novel but interesting; Soulless: The Manga, Vol. 2 which I enjoyed more than the book (Changeless).

Did you enjoy the book? No, I would have stop after the 1st 100pages if it wasn't part of the challenge. Perhaps to enjoy it you have to consider it's a second (third?) degree humour or a satirical book?
What is your rating? One star!
What parts, according you, are the biggest reasons for the bad reviews?
3rd person point of view sexist (look the women in the breasts), uninteresting story (it's wonderful to read pages about being drunk...), the characters are supposed to be VERY smart but they have all the time stupid and boring discussions and the heroes are jerk (and I won't talk about the female oriented insults).

I'm not sure the group will help you to decrease your TBR as, obviously, everybody here doubled or tripled his reading list because of what other members are reading. Anyway, it'll help you to decide what to read next.

What did you read this week? The Annotated Peter Pan
Which place did you visit? Neverland!
Did you enjoy the book? Peter Pan was as great as ever and the annotated part was nice.
Does another destination interest you? Lots of them! I travelled in all continents with books except Africa, so it will be interesting to read some stories happening there :)

2 spots left :)

Maybe some short challenges too.

This discussion thread is solely for your progress. (Book discussions go in individual threads.)
Which trilogy are you reading and what is its genre?
What is the title of the 1st book?
Did you enjoy the book?
Do you typically prefer series or standalones?

I re-watched the movie this week and the differences with the book were really obvious. Sophie has a more interesting character in the book and the stories around Howl and the king (etc) are more complex. Anyway, the movie gives a good idea of the atmosphere, so it's interesting to watch it before reading the book.

I'm happy the drink/food finally did it, because I want to read Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe and it will be perfect for this topic :D
