Which book did you read? ParallelDid you enjoy the book? The story was interesting, with some great ideas about parallel universes, but overall the story was just good.
What kind of love triangle was in the book? There are several, but the main is 2 boys, 1 girl (and, wonderful, she dated both of them).
What do you think about love triangles in books? I'm ok with them when the characters aren't dating. If they are, it's just really weird to see a stubborn person stalking his/her love interest.
We are halfway done with Week 36! You're stuck in a triangle love story and even if you want to run away, you can't!This discussion thread is solely for your progress. (Book discussions go in individual threads.)

Which book did you read? NiourkDid you remember the story before starting reading? Not at all, I just remembered that there were mutant monsters :p
Did you enjoy the book? Yes, it was a pleasant read.
Do you think you'd have enjoyed the book if you have discovered it only as a grown-up? Probably, but I would have been disturbed by the fact the 1st part is dystopian and the 2nd part is sci-fi. The change is a bit weird when you're an adult, but for a child it's probably not obvious.
I'm looking forward to choose books for my 2016 plan too.For this batch, I'm interested in 10 of the topics. Some others will be really too much out of my comfort zone.
They are different. I think I liked more the characters in the TV show. Overall, a Stephen King I didn't enjoy! In France the book is sold as 2 books, I never read the 2nd (and stopped the TV show after the 1st season...). Maybe they never succeeded to go outside the dome, I'll never know :p
I see people put this in steampunk and it's short so, with your opinion, I'm totally sold. Don't forget to give a feedback for the sequels :)
Anastasia, it would probably be a nice read for Halloween with the monster's parts, but it's not a spooky book :)I finished my trilogy, it was a huge one as all the books are over 700 pages! It was a good adventure, with characters I liked a lot (thanks, there are several prequels to read with them). The 3rd omnibus was my favorite in the series, it was more balanced and well paced and, of course, lots of things were finally revealed, which was very interesting. I liked a lot the use of the elves and dwarves here, even if I'd have preferred to see more with them and less about politics.
I'm reading lots of graphic novels but I've problems to decide which one I'll use for the challenge! For the moment, Nimona was the best this year.
Side-reads:
- book: Toby and the Secrets of the Tree, the sequel of the book recommended by a friend (and the end of the series). Written as well as the 1st but I was a little less interested in the story, more focused on romance and with less balanced characters.
- comic books: Encore Mafalda ! (#2), not as good as the 1st but entertaining; Descender, Vol. 1: Tin Stars, a good story about a young robot (reminded me, sort of, of AI) with lovely graphics, I'm really curious to see what will happen next; Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood which was very interesting and helped me to learn things about Iran; Hawkeye, Vol. 3, disappointing with stories I found dull regarding the much better previous volumes.
Which trilogy did you read? The Riyria RevelationsWhat is the title of the 3rd book? Heir of Novron (3rd omnibus, 5-6th books)
Did you enjoy the book?
Yes, a lot, it was far better than the previous ones, which is very nice for a conclusion (and really not the rule for series).
How was the trilogy? Is there another series you're very interested in?
I wasn't appealed by everything and the pace wasn't the best for me but I found the series overall pleasant. It was a nice work with very likable and interesting characters and a good world building.
For other series, Mistborn is high on my list.
Hi!Can you add the week for your book (edit your post and choose the week in the list) or tell us the week so a mod could move the thread? Thanks :)
I've never read this one but Ronia from this same author is my favorite childhood book. It's nice to see you enjoyed Pippi, it's a good motivation for me to start it at some point. Don't forget to say how the sequels are too :)
I just finished the 1st book. I was too very interested in learning how the things evolved in Iran as I knew few things about this country. Marji was funny and realistic, and I liked the fact she had an almost normal childhood even if the world collapsed around her. It was nice too to follow a revolutionary familly, it's sad they lost so much freedom over the years, just because of extremists and war.I'll wait a little before reading the 2nd book, but I'm curious about it.
It's possible too to create a special shelf for "a book chosen by another member", and you'll ask that someone picks a book in your special shelf.17 so far :)
Stacey, it would be better/easier if you create your own topic for your reading plan (so you can comment it or have comments from members). Some of us use ours as reading journals. To do it, there's a "create a new topic" in the top right corner (copy-paste your plan inside the text box). Thanks!
Welcome Stacey!I don't think we'll do a "top 10" for each week as members read different books for most of the weeks and have different tastes (so a book can be a 2 stars for one and a 5 stars for another). However, we'll do a topic where members can list their favorite books from the challenge.
10 sor far.Sophie > yes, I use the feature but I prefer to look at the listopias when I search by genre.
