118012 They were the ones left over from 2013, so only really 1 book (half left of each). They were good novels though!

Doing a rather easy read next, to ease me in :)

118012 Thank you, Kassandra! It's going to be a very interesting year reading-wise for me!

2. The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner by James Hogg

118012 Lucy, I really need to finish the MaddAddam series. I loved O&C so much, and I have The Year of the Flood out of the library. Should really read it!

There's some really amazing lists here!

118012 Narin, I completely understand. I watch like 12 shows, most of which I'm not up-to-date on. I've watched like a whole series of PLL this Christmas, with a series of Lost Girl and The Fosters. All of which are coming back soon...

118012 There's no Isaac. There's Paige instead, who's awesome and totally my favourite character!

I feel like that with the show. I can't watch anything else until I get up to date...

118012 I guess I relate to her most out of everyone. Her character is really awesome in the show, which is so addictive it's put a serious damper on my reading! From what I've read about the book series, they change Emily a lot in the tv series. Instead of being bisexual, she's gay, so her storyline is almost completely different.

I've just downloaded the first book onto my Kindle. Might try it out!

118012 There's so many people from Canada in this group. I'm really jealous. Canada is like my dream place to live!

118012 Narin, I see you've been reading the Pretty Little Liars books! Do you watch the TV show? I've been meaning to read them, but I really love Emily the show, and I don't particularly like the sound of her in the books...

118012 Good luck, Tara! We have the same goal!

I hope you read some interesting books!

118012 Don't get me started on release orders jumping about the place. I'm in the process of reading the Ender's Game series by Orson Scott Card. It's the most confusing thing ever.

118012 Danielle, it's up to you. I'm personally going to place them in both, while I'm sure others will keep them separate, numbers-wise. It's your choice.
118012 I hope everyone enjoys it. I bought it the other day, even though I've already read it, because it's one of those books that you just need to own...

118012 Faye, believe me, I'm the exact same. My reading for the month wholly depends on how much TV I watch. I am a sucker for a good show. Pretty sure I have OCD when it comes to them...

I definitely base what I'm reading around what I'm doing overall in the year. For example, I know May and June are going to be manic with exams, and September will be moving-into-Uni time. Hence, I know I need to read a lot in the first half of the year. Luckily, I'm hoping to study an English Lit degree (providing my exams go alright), and that means a lot of reading!

So I'm trying to get as much reading as I can done in Jan/Feb before exam pressures start happening.

118012 I'm sure we all have really long to-read lists, I sure know it's the bane of my life.

But there are some you really really want to read. The ones that are accomplishments or friends favourites, or something that's been sitting on your shelf for years.

What are the 5 books you really really want to read this year?

118012 Trying to finish Confession of a Justified Sinner today. Picked it up on a whim at the library and it's rather interesting, the writing is lovely . It's taken me a while to get into it though...

118012 Thank you! It's odd thinking that next Christmas and New Year, I won't be living at home full time, and things will be so different. I frankly can't wait, but it's odd that this year will bring so many changes!

118012 I've got 4 offers, but my plan is Loughborough. It's odd, because its like the 'sport' university, and I'm not at all sporty. But I just got a vibe when I went there that made me think I want to study there :)
Jan 02, 2014 05:01AM

118012 They definitely will when I get to university. It averages about 3 to 4 books a week when studying English. And that's not including secondary texts :3

118012 Clare, I know what you mean. With going to Uni this year, and exams and everything, I somehow doubt I'll hit 100. But there's no problem with dreaming :)

Good luck to you!
