I'm actually rather excited about this book. I haven't read a lot of YA fiction recently, and it's been the 'big one' of last year.
Inkeri: I'll probably change the title to something more formulaic so it has a bit more information in the title when we have a date and some more people. If that's okay?

It's exciting to see our first buddy read being set up!

I'd personally love to do the 50/50 challenge, but I'm more of a TV person :) good luck to you!

I would advise to place any possible spoilers in the spoiler brackets. This will keep things tidy and means people won't be spoiled without intending to do so!

I'm glad it cleared things up!

I really loved this book, and the period it was set in. I'll definitely be reading more of this series!

We generally avoid discussing the books in detail until half way through the month, so people have time to read it without the story being spoiled on the thread. Once half the month has passed, then discussions generally get deeper, as everyone has generally read it by then. This minimises the possibility of spoiling the book for other members.
I would recommend reading it. I personally don't label it as a YA book, even though it is classed as one. It's definitely not a 'typical' YA book, and the 'modern' history of it is dealt with very well. I hope you stick by the discussion, and that one day you'll read the book.
I hope this clears some questions and confusion you may have had. We're trying to minimise spoilers, so deep discussion probably won't commence for another few days.

After enjoying the time period of The White Queen so much, I've decided to stick with the period and read Shakespeare's Richard III. It counts towards the genre challenge, and it ticks off another Shakespeare!

Can't praise the novel enough though, especially as an introduction to Dickens!

Up after that will probably be a shorter one (Looking into doing Jamaica Inn or Doctor Faustus), before starting Catch-22!

I read Pretty Little Liars (the first book) and didn't like it a lot. I think the characters are better developed in the show. Especially since the first book only dealt with like the pilot! :L I just feel a lot more for the characters in the TV show!

After finishing it, I'll definitely move on to Catch-22, to give it another attempt.

I can vouch, A Tale of Two Cities is an amazing read!

Welcome to the book club, and I hope it lives up to your expectations!
