Listen to Shielding Ember now! 🎧
Happy AUDIO release week for Shielding Ember!
Yes, the audio releases this week and you can get your listen on!
Every release, I have people complaining about the audio being released before the ebook. So I wanted to explain WHY I do that.
Usually audio listeners have to wait months and years for the audio of their favorite authors to release. That's because it's very expensive to produce an audio book, and (of course) you have to have the manuscript done to send to the narrators months ahead of time. Because of the cost, many authors can't afford to have their books put in audio at all.
Because I am "ahead" in my writing schedule I'm able to get the narration done in time to have the audio released around the same time as the ebook. But to reward my loyal audio listeners, and to give them a "gift", I release the audio a week before the ebook.
I know it can be disappointing to wait an extra week for the ebook if you aren't an audio person, but think about how disappointing it would be to have to wait YEARS to get the book in your preferred format, or not to get it at all! Also, there is such a thing as an "audible first" where the audio comes out 6 months before the ebook. There might be a chance in the future I do that, or use some other platform to deliver my books before the ebook. It's all to try to gain more readers, to try to bring more people over to the Stoker-Zone. HA!
I try my best to please everyone, but it's literally impossible. Some love Kindle Unlimited, some hate it. Some of my books are on all platforms, others aren't. I wish my paperbacks were in every store you walked into, but they aren't. It's just a part of doing business in this crazy book world.
ANYWAY...so...Shielding Ember is out in Audio! I'm mailing the paperbacks that were ordered through my online store this week as well. And next week the story will be available on ALL the ebook platforms. I hope you love Doc and Ember as much as I do. She's kick butt and I wish I was more like her. And Doc...well, you know, he's a Stoker Hero so he's protective, alpha, and ALL about Ember.

A teaser and a freebie!
My heart goes out to everyone suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. And the earthquake in Haiti. And the families of those killed in Afghanistan. And to everyone who is having a hard time dealing with whatever crap life is throwing at them. Stay strong...even when you don't think you can take one more thing. You can. You've got this.
Only ONE week until Shielding Ember comes out in Audio! I know not everyone is an audio listener, but if you are...yay! You might notice that this one isn't narrated by Virginia Rose...that's because I wanted to be authentic so I found a POC to narrate this one since Ember is Black. Does this mean the story is different from my others? No. Ember is still strong, Doc is still alpha and protective, and you'll see glimpses of the whole team. :)
In news in my world...we had our deck rebuilt using composite instead of regular wood and I'm so glad it's done! Because...bark bark bark bark...the dogs didn't like people in THEIR yard. (And Callie wasn't happy she couldn't go out and bask in the sun (we didn't trust that she wouldn't jump off the edge of the deck! HA))
In case you missed it and you don't already have it in your library...Rescuing Harley is currently FREE, but only for another few days, so if you haven't picked it up, be sure you do before the price goes back to normal.
I'm sharing a teaser from Shielding Ember below...and I love this one so much because the model looks exactly how I picture Ember in my head! I can't wait for you to see her kick butt (and for you to find out if she wins a medal in the Olympics or not! :)

Finding Lexie is LIVE!

Hawaii is a perfect place as a setting for a series and I love Lexie and Midas together. And as always, it's fun to bring in the other characters from the series, Mustang and Elodie, and the entire SEAL team. And in case you haven't heard...YES! Baker Rawlins is going to have a story of his own...but first you have to get to know the elusive former SEAL in the other stories first. :)
I appreciate each and every one of you and I hope you continue to love this series.

I feel like I say this every time we hit a new month, but how the heck is it AUGUST already?
Anyway, I've had a busy July and I'm happy to be at home, sitting on my couch with the doggies, and writing another book!
BUT...good news for today! The AUDIO of Finding Lexie is now LIVE! That's right, you can listen to the story a week before the ebook comes out! I've also mailed the paperbacks that were ordered from my online store. I hope hope hope you all love the second installment in the SEAL Team Hawaii series! I love these guys so much, and their women are a hoot!
I realized that I forgot to post the first chapter of Finding Lexie on my website (I was too busy sending you excerpts! lol), so I've done that now, so if you're still waiting for the ebook you can go and get a sneak peek of the story before it goes live on the 10th!
For everyone else waiting on Lexie to go live, I wanted to share that I'm in a romantic suspense box set with 9 other amazing suspense authors...and the best news is that the book is FREE! It's on all the platforms and I encourage you to download it now as after August, it will no longer be available. My contribution is Shielding Gillian, but even if you've read that, there are 9 other full-length books you can get for FREE!

Get a Sneak Peek
Are you guys ready for Lexie and Midas? Their story will be here SO soon!
How about another excerpt? This book starts out with a bang, with a desert rescue, then a chase, then hiding from the bad guys, then finally getting home...but like any Stoker book...the danger doesn't end there! :) This except is the beginning of the "chase" part.
I know I said last week that I love having this series set in Hawaii, but that also presented some challenges. It's hard to get the heroines TO Hawaii in the first place if they aren't already there. People don't just up and move to Hawaii on a whim. lol So I had to get creative on how to get my heroines there. but once there...they're hooked! On the sun, the food, the men... ha!
The audiobook comes out in ONE WEEK and once again I've got a male and female narrator. Emma Wilder is back (because she's SO awesome at "acting" a book out), and this time the Hero is voiced by Teddy Hamilton, who has a very sexy voice!
There's still time to get a signed paperback from my store...and I'll be sending those out NEXT week as well, so you'll hopefully get them a few days before the ebook comes out.
In other news...I start writing another book next week! EEK! I've taken about a month off and I'm ready to dive back into the Eagle Point Search & Rescue Series! I hope you're all safe and healthy. Take care of yourself!!

Free books inside!
We are less than a month until the second book in my SEAL Team Hawaii series releases! Where is time going?
In the meantime, thank you to everyone who picked up Trusting Molly last week. As of the writing of this newsletter, it's still in the top 10 of all books on Amazon! Love seeing romance in the top! I think EVERYONE should read romance, but I might be biased. HA!
This week I've got 2 more FREE books for you!
First up is FREE ME by USA Today Bestselling Author Grahame Claire. There's a creepy ex in this one, who causes all sorts of mayhem. Right up my alley! HA!
The second book is by my author friend Sawyer Bennett, The Revelation of Light and Dark is the start of her paranormal series and looks completing intriguing!
As I said earlier, Finding Lexie will be here before we know it! Midas and his SEAL team go to Somalia to rescue two people who've been held for ransom and Midas is surprised that he knows one of the captives personally. After her rescue, Lexie takes a job in Hawaii and thus starts the two getting to know each other once again. But someone isn't happy that Lexie survived her ordeal in Somalia and is determined to see her dead.
You'll see Elodie and Mustang again as well as all the others on the SEAL team. And once again we're in Hawaii...which makes me want to go there all the more! HA. (I need a malasada and maui onion potato chips!) I've got the paperbacks up for sale in my online store (and they're shipped a week before the ebook comes out) and the audio comes out the week before as well. This book is on all the platforms and is up for preorder (remember that you aren't charged for preorders until the book is released!)
