Hello from the Galapagos 🐢

Anyway, I'll make this week's NL short and sweet...Only 2 weeks until Searching for Elsie comes out on AUDIO! EEK! CJ Bloom and William Peters (which is a pseudonym for a male narrator who you already know and love!) knock this one out of the park! Next week I'll be sharing the first chapter, so be on the lookout for that!
To tide you over, I've got another FREE
I'm missing my doggies, but know Mr. Stoker is taking good care of them while I'm frolicking in the ocean and enjoying my vaca. I'll be back at cha from my comfy recliner next week. In the meantime, read on and be kind!

Get a sneak peek of Searching for Elsie 📚
Elsie and Zeke will be here before we know it!
I know not everyone lies to read excerpts, but I love sharing them. So for the people who love getting sneak peeks, I'm including an excerpt in today's Newsletter. There's just something about a man who takes care of his sick woman that gets to me every time! :)
The Eagle Point Search & Rescue series has the same thing as all my books do, a group of men who have a strong bond, a background with the military, and they're totally into their women. It also has a close-knit town full of quirky characters, lost citizens who need to be found by our guys, and of course a kidnapping or two! I know it's hard to get into a new series, but I'm hoping you all love book 2 as much as you did book 1.
Next week I'm heading off on a trip that's been in the planning for quite a while and I'm finally getting to do it. My mom and niece and I are headed to the Galapagos Islands to look at the huge tortoises, turtles, blue footed boobies and generally enjoy a 3 generation female bonding trip. :)
But don't worry, you'll still be hearing from me, because you know, the Internet is everywhere! Stay safe out there everyone!

Thank you for making Finding Monica a #1 bestseller!
Good morning, afternoon, or evening, depending on when you open this email! :)
First of all, thanks to each and every one of you who picked up Finding Monica and made it the #1 bestselling fiction book in the US in its first week! It hit #1 on the Wall Street Journal list and I couldn't be more grateful to all of you! I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little more about Baker and seeing more from the Hawaii SEAL crew. (And YES, Baker will be getting a book! lol)
Next up I return to the Eagle Point Search & Rescue team in Fallport, Virginia with Searching for Elsie. Elsie is a single mom, working her butt off to try to raise her son. She's not sure about starting a relationship with her boss, but of course Zeke is very persuasive...and all in when it comes to making her life easier from here on out.
But before I get into teasing you more about Elsie and Zeke, I wanted to share another FREE book with you! This month it's Janie Crouch's book, Conceal. It's got a fake marriage trope and a stalker! What more could you ask for?
This past week I went on a ghost hunt in a now-closed penitentiary near me and was up way past my bedtime! (and we heard one scream and a clink on one of the bars of a jail cell). I totally wore my Bigfoot shirt too, I figured it was good karma. HA!
I hope everyone's end of the school year is going well, the beginning of your summer (or winter if you're in Australia) is shaping up, and you are happy and healthy as you can be. Always remember to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you because tomorrow is never guaranteed.
Read on!

Read Finding Monica now! 📚
It's here, It's here, It's here!
I'm SO excited for you guys to read book platforms. I think this heroine is different from many of my heroines in that she doesn't want to be saved. She wants nothing to do with Pid and the SEALs who show up to save the day. And then she's forced go to back to Hawaii. So not a very good start for her and Pid...but you know she's going to be won over not only by our Hero, but the rest of his tribe as well. :)
And for those of you who keep asking "Will Baker get a book?", you'll be thrilled to see more of him in this book!
I hope you enjoy the next installment of the SEAL Team Hawaii series! Finding Monica is available on all the book platforms, in hardback, paperback, audio, and I've got Hawaii swag on my web store as well.
Thank you all for being awesome. I love what I do and it's because of all of you!

Finding Monica Excerpt
Monica lashed out so quickly, Pid was unprepared. She jerked her hand out of his and hissed, “Don’t touch me!”
Pid held up his hands in surrender. “I’m sorry.”
“I mean it. No one touches my hand. No one.”
He nodded. “I’m sorry again.”
They stared at each other for a heated moment before Monica dropped her gaze, her cheeks flushed once more.
“I was just trying to help you grab hold of my waistband again.”
“You don’t have to manhandle me. All you have to do is use your words,” she said caustically.
Surprisingly, her words and tone didn’t turn Pid off. But he didn’t dare smile. He had a feeling she’d incorrectly assume he was laughing at her. He wasn’t; that last statement just sounded as if she was talking to one of her kids. He wasn’t seven, but she had a good point.
“You’re right. Sorry. Please grab hold of me again, Monica. I need to know you’re at my heels at all times.”
She stared at him with a look of confusion.
“What?” he asked.
“I just— You apologized.”
It was Pid’s turn to be confused. “Yeah. I shouldn’t have grabbed you like that. Especially since I don’t know you. Hasn’t anyone ever told you they were sorry after doing something they shouldn’t have?” He meant his question to be lighthearted, but when she didn’t immediately roll her eyes and say “of course”…he realized perhaps no one had ever apologized to her.
“It doesn’t matter,” she mumbled. “Can we go? The last thing I want is to end up in the middle of a crazed mob.” She reached out her right hand and lightly took hold of his belt once more.
There was so much Pid wanted to say at that moment, so many questions he wanted to ask, but she was right. They needed to get off the streets and to safety. He headed in the direction Monica had indicated and quickly caught up to Slate, who’d been not so patiently waiting for them.
“If I’d known you were going to stop to have a chat, I would’ve left your ass,” Slate grumbled.
Pid shook his head. “Always so impatient,” he chided.
“Whatever,” Slate said under his breath.
The threesome continued through the streets, moving away from any sounds of crowds before finally arriving at the back of a dark cinderblock building. It was on the edge of the upscale neighborhood, and with one glance, Pid knew it would be the perfect place to hole up for a while.
There were scraggly looking weeds all around the building and most of the glass in the windows had long since been broken out. The doors were missing and the vibe of the place was actually quite creepy.
“Kids come here to play?” Slate asked in disbelief.
To Pid’s surprise, Monica actually looked amused. “That’s what I thought the first time I saw it. But when you want to play soccer and the weather’s crappy, it’s pretty perfect.”
“I bet it’s haunted,” Slate said.
“Now that you mention it, I did hear strange noises when I was here, but I dismissed them,” Monica said.
The look on Slate’s face was priceless. Monica obviously thought so too, because she giggled. The woman actually giggled. Pid didn’t even care that he wasn’t the one to make her laugh. He was too blown away by how the smile on her face changed her whole countenance. And for the first time, he realized she had a dimple in one cheek.
A fucking dimple.
Fuck. He was such a sucker for dimples.
“Shit, woman, please tell me you’re kidding,” Slate begged.
“I’m kidding,” Monica said obediently, but it was clear she was humoring him.
An explosion from a street over spurred them into action. Slate immediately entered the menacing-looking building, with Pid and Monica at his heels.
“Which way?” Slate asked.
Pid heard Monica’s subtle snort before she said, “You’re asking me? You’re the big bad Navy SEALs.”
He couldn’t help but smile. There was that prickly attitude. He didn’t think her lightheartedness would last, and he’d been right.
“A big bad Navy SEAL who’s never been in here. You have. Which way?” Slate asked again, no irritation evident in his tone.
“There are a bunch of boxes to the left. Last time I was here, checking to make sure the local kids were all right, I saw a young boy who wasn’t playing soccer making a fort with them,” Monica said.
Without another word, the threesome headed that way.
Monica had been right. The old factory building was a perfect temporary hiding spot. Rioters would have no interest in the place because it was abandoned, nothing of value inside for them to steal. Their attention was focused on the houses of the government workers.
Within five minutes, Pid and Slate had rearranged the empty boxes to give all three of them space to sit, protected from being seen at first glance if someone decided to enter the building. They wouldn’t be protected from bullets, but Pid was fairly confident they were safe from that sort of threat at the moment.

Read Chapter One of Finding Monica 📖
It's getting so close!
It's almost time for Finding Monica! I just love this story...it's a little different because Monica doesn't WANT to be rescued. She doesn't WANT to go to Hawaii. She doesn't WANT to help Pid and the military with their "little" issue.
And yet...she can't help but be sucked into the girl tribe and fall in love. 😊
Next week you can get the Audio, and the ebook will be out on May 10th, which is right around the corner!
I've posted the first chapter on my website so you can check it out if you want (I know many of you don't like to read the sneak peeks, and that's more than all right). But for those who do, I hope it'll make you even MORE excited for Pid and Monica's story!
I've still got some cool PURPLE T-shirts on my website to celebrate the Hawaiian SEALs, along with cool new ace shaped emory boards, and signed Finding Monica and other paperbacks.
I even formatted a special edition paperback/hardback copy of what I titled "It was Always You". This is Annie and Frankie's journey all in one place including Rescuing Emily, Protecting Kiera, The Gift, First Kiss & Rescuing Annie. There is NO new material though, just so you know. But it's a beefy book and I love having their complete story all in one place. It's only available through my store, not on any of the online platforms.
Anyway, the weather here is warming up (A little too soon for me, I'm a cold weather gal!) and the grass is growing quickly. I hope you're all safe and happy. Read on!

Get a sneak peek of Finding Monica 😍
It's getting closer!
Finding Monica will be live before we know it! I thought I'd give you a little glimpse into how Monica and Pid meet in the excerpt below. She's prickly, doesn't trust anyone, especially military men, and finds herself in the middle of a coup in a foreign country when Pid and his fellow SEALs appear out of nowhere to get her to safety.
I really love this story because it involves Monica overcoming the baggage she's carried with her all her life. I think many of us are in the same situation...trying to figure out how to get through life and open ourselves up to love when all we want to do is hide under our blankets and be safe. But no worries...Pid manages to break down her walls brick by brick, and Monica learns that while it's good to be cautious...not everyone is out to get her. :)
For those who like paperbacks, I've got them in my online store (and I mail them the week before the ebook comes out). I also have purple SEAL Team Hawaii t-shirts that I love so much and custom book sleeves (padded fabric doohickies that you can put 5x8 paperbacks or electronics in to keep the same while you're out and about). Also, the audiobook comes out a week before the ebook as well, so for my audio listeners out there, be sure to preorder!
I've spent the last week visiting with my mom and even though we didn't do a whole lot while she was visiting, it was nice to just hang out with her. I hope you all had a happy Easter (if you celebrate) and a safe and healthy weekend if you don't.

A HUGE thank you + all the book news!
Is Baker finally getting his story?
Thank you to everyone for your messages and emails about Searching for Lilly. It's always tough to start a new series because they're brand new characters that you have to get to know. I realize this series has a little bit of a different feel because it's in a small town, but the Heroes are still alpha and protective, and the heroines are still brave and strong.
But you know what's coming soon? Finding Monica! That's right, the fourth book in the SEAL Team Hawaii series! I'll be sharing excerpts and teaser graphics in the next few weeks. Many of you have asked me if Baker is going to get a story (he is!) and you'll see a LOT more of the mysterious former SEAL in this book! I just love having a series set in Hawaii because it's one of my favorite places in the world.
In other news with me...my husband is now addicted to lego sets (after putting together the lego typewriter for me), my mom is visiting this week and next, I just got back from PA where I was house/kid/dog sitting for my friend, and I finished writing the first book in a new series that will start next year with my publisher, Montlake. I've been busy, but it's been a good busy.
I know this time of year can be hard for many people...hang in there. Take things one day at a time. Stay strong. Read on.
