Second installment of Thursday R.E.A.D.s now up
Hello, Write Edge readers. I hope wherever you are that you’re enjoying a bright, sunny day. We’ve had gray skies that keep threatening rain but don’t really follow through on the threat. On the upside, days like this are great for reading and writing.
Today I’ve done both (of course) and am sharing my second installment of Thursday R.E.A.D.s with you. This month I’m taking a closer look at Lunar New Year Love Story by Gene Luen Yang and LeUyen Pham. Find out what I thought of the book as an Editor here.
Have a great night, readers, and remember to tell a loved one you care about them. Life is too short not to.

New book review now up
Hello, Write Edge readers. I’ve posted my latest book review for you. Today I share my thoughts on The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley. Here’s the opening to my post:
A civil servant discovers that all is not as it may seem in a pioneer government program that involves time travel and helping historical figures assimilate to the 21st century. As the woman begins to make inquiries, she discovers a larger plot at play. Debut Author Kaliane Bradley tackles several weighty topics and handles all of them with aplomb in her first book The Ministry of Time.

Hello, Write Edge readers. I’ve posted my latest book review for you. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on Real Americans by Rachel Khong. Here’s the opening to my post:
Three generations grapple with identity and culture through life challenges that pull them apart and push them back together again. Along the way, each person must decide whether they will embrace the complications of their lives or denounce everything. Author Rachel Khong’s plot of three main characters offers prose with gravity but the wrong story order in her latest book Real Americans.

Last two days of April
Hello, Write Edge readers. It’s hard to believe, but this week brings us the last two days of April. Time truly does fly when you’re absorbed in other things.
It’s the last Monday of the month, which means I take a break from posting my own writing to share with you some of the writing I’ve enjoyed by others from across the web. Check out those works now on The Write Edge Writing Workshop.
On Friday I shared in my #bookreviewpreview that I’m currently reading Real Americans by Rachel Khong. Want to know what I thought of the book? Find out on Wednesday on The Write Edge Bookshelf.
This week is the start of a new month and the return of another feature that I’ve enjoyed in years past: Thursday R.E.A.D.S. In this quarterly deep-dive, I share my thoughts on a book that I read and enjoyed outside of my weekly reviews. On Thursday I’ll share the first installment, as a Reviewer, of what I thought of Lunar New Year Love Story by the dynamic graphic novel writer-illustrator team of Gene Luen Yang and LeUyen Pham. I took a break from this closer look at books last year, but I’m so glad to be bringing it back in 2024. Look for it toward the later part of the week.
And, of course, it’s back to Instagram on Friday for bits and pieces of my writing and non-writing lives. If you’ve missed previous posts, find them now on the app with my handle, @EktaRGarg, or on my Facebook author page.
Have a great week, readers, and remember to tell a loved one you care for them this week. Life is too short not to.
