Here’s How Your Ideal Customer Profile Will Help You Grow
You are probably very concerned about your business right now and wonder if and how you can make a recovery when Covid-19 blows over.
This is my 7thdisaster and what I learned is that you must remain focused and work on things you usually do not have time to do. One of which is – get your customer profiles, your Avatars figured out.
One of the big problems in finding new clients is the lack of clarity of whom to pursue. Would you like to find a way to make this easier and more successful? Watch this video below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAp57ps9kzU&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=business_developmentVideo can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: Learn To Create Your Avatar For Business | How Your Ideal Customer Profile WIll Help You Grow (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAp57ps9kzU&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=business_development)
Often, we struggle finding a way to secure a steady supply of new customers to increase the size of our business. It is important to replace those that we lose and while retaining a maximum amount of our current client base as possible. It is always critical to bring on new clients.
The easiest way to find new customers is to know EXACTLY what makes them your best customer. One of the most effective ways to do this is to build a ‘customer avatar’. Customer avatars are created with a detailed list of their attributes to comprise a very specific profile that describes your best client in abstract. Identifying other companies and/or individuals with some of the same attitudes—therefore making them great potential clients—is the smart way to target your sales and marketing efforts. This is where you will get the most return on your investment of time and budget.
The really good news is that I’ve built a FREE training on this – for you– called the Airtight Avatar. Watch the video and, if this is coming at a good time sign-up using the link I provide. In less than an hour you’ll be ready with your own customer avatar, allowing you to sift through the ocean of prospects to find those great new customers who will help you build your business!
The goal is when we go back online – you will be ready with your ideal client list you want to approach.

Diversity of Thoughts In A Crisis
First up. How are you? Hit reply and send me a quick hello and I will respond accordingly. Let me know how this is affecting you so I can see what information I can provide.
COVID-19 is not my first disaster—I’ve experienced earthquakes, riots and more. We all went through 9/11 together which affected the global economy so profoundly. I’ve learned that some things are predictable, based on those experiences.
More importantly, though, this is a disaster like no other. The entire world has come to a screeching halt. This feels surreal, particularly when everything has been moving so fast these last few years. For the world to come to a dead stop is unthinkable and yet it is happening.
In this video, I walk you through the three stages you will enter and then exit as you move through this disaster. I think you will find this helpful and I’m happy to share. I’m stressing out on how important it is to take this pandemic seriously! And then I try to help you understand how important it is to bring in every voice on the team. I stress how much more effective it can be, at this critical moment, to utilize the diversity of thoughts available on your team. Watch the video for more thoughts regarding this, subscribe to keep learning and stay safe.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAwhB4ijOS8&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=gender_equalityVideo can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: 3 Things That Happen During The Low End Of The Business Cycle | Responding To Covid-19 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAwhB4ijOS8&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=gender_equality)
You will find yourself trying to strategize about how your business will move forward. Being successful under these new circumstances will require creativity, adaptability and innovation. A diverse and high functioning team can make this work, and you, as a leader, need to encourage the input and ideas from the broadest set of team members possible.
If you are not sure how to encourage diversity of thoughts in your team nor on how you are going to get out of this, let’s spend 90 minutes together and get your plan mapped out.

Does Ageism In The Workplace Exist?
Do you see examples of age discrimination around you? What do you know about ageism in the workplace? Is it real? Yes, no question. And the situation at IBM is a huge, public –dare I say it, notorious—example. Allegedly, IBM let go of 100,000 older white male employees in the past several years.
What was the reason for that?
They wanted to have a workforce that was ‘cooler’ and more attractive to younger ‘must have’ job applicants. They didn’t want to be seen as that ‘fuddy duddy’ company that no one wants to join.
I kind of get what they wanted to do, but what will this actually accomplish? If they get rid of middle aged white guys (of which there were so many because IBM employees stay in the company a really long time) and just hire young white males, they will just repeat that pattern. Great thinking on their part….
Oh, and they will have a class action lawsuit on their hands, too. Now 100,000 white men can rightfully say they have been discriminated against.
What if they had worked to recruit a more diverse employee base over the past few years and put a plan in place? What if they could retool the look and feel of their workforce to be both younger but also more inclusive? They could have made a better effort to hire more women, more minorities, more colorful people.
Watch the video and let me know–via your comment– what you think about ageism and what you have observed in your own company. And share this link with those who lead companies or teams, so that they can learn and do a better job of dealing with these issues.

Why We Should Be Encouraging Father’s Parental Leave
What’s important about a father’s parental leave? What does it offer that is critical and valuable?
I believe that maternity leave for men—which I like to describe as ‘parental leave’—is truly important especially when we look at equality from the other side. Equal means equal all the way around.
I believe that businesses should move toward offering this as soon as possible. There is a huge benefit when men have an opportunity to be part of those early days –for them to bond with their child, to be able to hold that tiny infant, to nurture it and be part of those first few months when there is so much change and development. Watch this video below to learn more.
Connection to family allows a father to be more centered emotionally and reduces his anxiety about his wife and child. Once they become fathers, the men I know are so incredibly focused on providing for the families. You hear it all the time; it is constantly on their minds–“I just want to be a good provider.”
Contrary to when I was born, today men participate in all the wonderful drama of being in the delivery room. But, within a day or two, mom and baby are settled at home and they have to go straight back to work. I can only imagine how difficult this must be. For both their emotional well-being and their productivity, maternity leave for men is the right thing to offer.
I hope that, if you are a manager or company owner, you agree and have instituted better policies. Even if you are not in a position to make this change at your workplace I’d like to hear your thoughts about parental leave. Is this a good thing? Should employers offer it?

Re-Ignite: A Unique Back to Work Program
In this video, I will introduce you to a program, developed by Johnson & Johnson that is called RE-IGNITE. This is a ‘back to work program’ that is specifically aimed at the many women returning to the workforce after they’ve been out for maternity leave.
What excites me most is that Johnson & Johnson has a 100% success rate with this program! They have figured out something that not many companies have. And they benefit from having very qualified women—and men—enter the program, succeed and come to work for them.
How do they do it?
Johnson and Johnson put their money where their mouth is. They are a family company after all. They do it right and the program is working well. While it has a strong focus on working mothers who have taken time off to care for their children, it is also offered to fathers. And –not surprising—it has been made available to veterans who are entering the workforce after their military service is completed. Reignite has proven to be a powerful new source of strong, successful, dedicated qualified employees.
Watch the video to learn the details. Perhaps you’ll be able to suggest a program like this where you work, or where you are in management so that your organization can benefit from this very successful new way to integrate workers back into careers.
It’s wonderful to see how well the program is working. My hope is that other organizations can learn from this and create other back to work programs offering new opportunities for the moms, dads and our servicemen and women.

How to Hire the Right Business Consultant
At some point in the lifecycle of your business, it will plateau and you are going to want to look at enlisting outside help. Perhaps now is not that time in your business or perhaps it is. With my clients, I often see that getting to the realization that ‘it is time to get some outside help’ is a huge step, and the next big thing will be choosing the right business consultant.
Many consultants have great consulting skills but are they right for you and your business? How do you choose the best fit for you and your business? The right consultant is the one that will help you understand how you can take your business to the next level. The one that can help you realize those goals you’ve set and worked so hard to achieve.
Watch my video to get the three questions you must ask when you are hiring a business consultant. In my world, we call this first discussion the ‘Uncovery Process’.

If you use these three questions that I share, it will become clear to you whether that consultant is the right one for your business.
If during the discussion, you realize that this person or persons can really work with you and provide what you need in terms of process, expertise and guidance, then, you’ve found your consultant! The relationship will be great. You’ll work together, explore ways to grow, and then together you will make it happen. This is the terrific outcome we all want!
So please watch the video to learn more. And, if you are interested in seeing if I may be a good fit for you, please go to UncoverySession.com and get started right away. I’d love to hear from you!

Why Women Supporting Each Other Is So Important
There were thirty-three women CEOs of Fortune 500 companies in 2019. And though it is a record, I explore the data more thoroughly in this video and the news is not what you’d expect. Actually – to the contrary.
How are we ever going to get a larger number of women to represent us in the boardroom? Why aren’t the numbers moving more faster when topics like equality, diversity and inclusion are so ‘top of mind’? Why haven’t all the women’s support groups, associations, seminars and conferences made a difference? Why does gender inequity in the workplace still exist?
First, as I point out in my book Happy Woman Happy World, we have to see women supporting each other, collaborating together and standing strong on the topic of women leadership. Why? Because there are so many contradictory–and often negative–biases around women as leaders. Find out what the single biggest obstacle is that prevents women from being promoted into the C-suite.
This is nothing new to me, I spend a great deal of my time coaching women to provide them with the tools and the take-charge-attitude they need to advance their careers. I also help companies build more balanced teams because it has a positive impact on their bottom lines. And this is what I share in this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUJxyr99TK4Video can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: Why Women Supporting Each Other Is So Important | How To Fight Gender Inequality In The Workplace (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUJxyr99TK4)
We must come together because 33 out of 500—that is less than seven percent. And yet, we are 51% of the population. Shouldn’t that number be around 250? Watch the video to see how we can get there. Then ‘Like’ and Share it to spread the word.

Are You Headed Straight Toward Burnout? You NEED A Self Care Checklist
It’s no secret, and the data proves it: We women are doing A LOT for others. In a typical 24-hour day, we are cramping in 36 hours of work and still there seems no time for ourselves. Too many of us are spending every moment of time and every bit of our energy on those around us and nothing–nothing–on ourselves.
If you are too busy to read this further, go to my complimentary Balance Planning and get the self care checklist I designed just for you here.
I joke about this, because if you think that 30 minutes is going to magically open up at the end of the day for you to finally do something for yourself – you will be waiting for a long time. This fantasy is something I myself keep chasing, but really what will make self care happen is when we pay attention to some self care basics.
Because if you don’t, you are likely to be headed straight toward burnout. That is why I recommend a self care checklist.
In this video I share some of the things that I have learned, both from my own personal experience and as a coach to other women. I not only have identified some of the ways you can start to change to include self care in your life (Spoiler Alert: start making your calendar your best friend!) but also have developed a tool that you can access online—for free!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj4ceOCVUeA&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=career_mappingVideo can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: Self Care Essentials | Why You NEED A Self Care Checklist (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj4ceOCVUeA&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=career_mapping)
In 10 minutes you will be ready to build a self care checklist of your own. Make that small effort now and get the big payoff of feeling relaxed and taken care of. When you steer yourself away from the inevitable burnout of no selfcare and toward a healthier life the results are more balance and a healthy mindset.
If you find this helpful, ‘Like’ and share this with your friends. Trust me… we will all be better off if we include self care into our busy schedules.

How To Survive As A Single Mom | Single Mom Support
There are over 9 million single moms in the US. Given this huge number, we SHOULD be doing all we can to provide ‘single mom support’. But sadly, they are often the social outcasts in society. Even more, men blame women for being single moms, which is unfair, hurtful and just wrong. Which woman sets out to be a single mom? Yet it happens, a lot. This is often due to circumstances beyond our control.
As a single Mom and immigrant this topic has always been very close to my heart. This video therefore will help you understand how difficult it is to become a single mom. I’m also giving you some ideas on how you can help other women who bravely took this role. In the video I will also share some ways to make things fun without spending money and create a support network—things I learned that were essential to my survival when I was a single mom.

We need to encourage and push each one to reach their goals in life, whatever that may be. Let’s support other single moms and fight towards what you really want for you and your family. I want to help everyone learn how to survive as a single mom—and to THRIVE!

Essential Tips For Being On Camera To Build Your Brand… And Business
Using video to build your brand and sharing your message to the world can be very powerful. I’ve learned a lot about what to do and some things about what not to do, too. My director, Ramon, whom I adore has not just been very helpful but also willing to share his thoughts on how to get started with video marketing. Watch the video to listen to his great tips for being on camera.
You’ll learn things like what to say and get some insights on which gear you need to get started. Ramon and I also discuss how to make your videos stand out from all the ‘white noise’ out there. How do you make yours compelling? What makes yours get noticed and maybe even go viral?
We are talking about why being different is good and while copying other people might be tempting, but you should do something more creative.
It may feel daunting to go from writing a blog to being in front of camera, but there is urgency. YouTube is the number one search engine in the world. Once you have watched this, you’ll be ready to get started and hopefully soon you’ll have your own successful videos up on your You Tube channel, Facebook, Instagram, your website and anywhere else you think will help you build both your brand and your business.
Let me know if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to run them by Ramon.
