How Building Workplace Equality Affects The Male Culture Of Entitlement At Work
With all the advances women have made recently towards building workplace equality, some men have been complaining that women get all the attention. They even claim that they’re being discriminated against because they are men. This comes from their culture of entitlement at work.
Understanding the Male Culture of Entitlement
Male entitlement in the workplace lets them feel like they can pursue any woman they want under any circumstances. They think they can say whatever they want, whenever they want. They feel it’s their male privilege to make sexual comments and unwanted advances towards their colleagues and subordinates. Now that they can’t do that anymore, they try to play the victim. They blame everyone else for their problems instead of looking within and admitting the part they played.
They feel like the feminist movement has taken their privileges away. Well, no one has the right to act like a bully and an idiot. Companies have cracked down on sexual harassment because it’s costing them millions. A widespread male culture of entitlement at work has led to many cases where dozens of women reported harassment and HR did nothing, leading to huge fines being levied against the company.
Building Workplace Equality at Work
Building workplace equality is just good business. Gender equality, which supports the leadership qualities of both sexes, is the wave of the future. The male culture of entitlement at work is going the way of the dinosaur.
Watch my video below where I discuss if workplaces are still equal or if there’s a need to start a movement for men because there’s so much for women that they don’t get anything.

Equality at work means just that – women and men are equal, with neither sex dominating the other. Building workplace equality requires that every person of goodwill needs to pull up their socks and adapt. The world – and the market – is changing so rapidly nowadays that we need great leadership wherever we can find it.

7 Business Strategies for Success | Don’t Let Perfection Stop You
I’ve failed so many times in my life. And that’s fine! Just don’t start thinking of yourself as a failure. Don’t let your desire for perfection stop you from living your best life. The best business strategies for success take into account that life is complicated. People are flawed and things don’t normally work out the way you want them to.
7 Business Strategies for Success
In spite of all this, you can still find ways to grow your business and succeed in life. I like to call myself a “13-year overnight success.” In all those years of trying and failing, I’ve come up with 7 principles of success in business that have really worked for me. Why don’t you give them a try? I bet they’ll work for you, too.
WORK HARD. I know… Big surprise, right? You’re not working just for the sake of working. You’re honing your craft. The more you practice and put in the hours, the better you’ll be at your job.
HAVE THE AUDACITY TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. Even if you have excellent business strategies for success, you’ll have a hard time getting support from people if you’re full of doubt when delivering your ideas.
EXPECT OBSTACLES AND DON’T LET THEM SLOW YOU DOWN. They’re normal. Just keep moving through them.
SET ASIDE TIME TOM ACTUALLY EXECUTE THE PROJECT. Don’t linger in the other stages of planning, networking, and so on. Make sure you’re actually moving towards your goal.
DON’T LET PERFECTIONISM STOP YOU. Embrace your quirks—they make you stand out. You should own your imperfections because they’re unique to you. Don’t think of yourself as “defective.” You’re authentic and interesting! It’s truly one of the best marketing strategies out there.
FOCUS ON YOUR TASKS. It’s so easy to get distracted nowadays, so set a timer for 75 to 90 minutes and just focus on your work during that time.
COMMIT TO FAILING —fast, often, and hard. A failure is an opportunity to change your strategy and direction.
If you’d like to hear more about the business strategies for success that I live by, watch this short video I recorded below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erjy-WeLo_Q&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=12232018Video can’t be loaded: Don’t Let Perfection Stop You│Business Strategies For Success (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erjy-...)
Don’t Let Perfection Stop You
Don’t let perfectionism stop you from giving your best. I’ve found that the most effective business strategies for success are those that support progress. Worrying about perfection stifles creativity and innovation, leaving you at the mercy of your doubts and fears.

What Creates Brand Trust? | The Factors Affecting Brand Image
Let me ask you this… Whom do you support as an organization by giving them your buying power?
A recent study on factors affecting brand image for young Americans ages 13 to 36 revealed some interesting findings. You can read about the study here. A group of 27,000 young people were shown a list of over 200 brands and asked which ones they trusted the most.
The Findings: Factors Affecting Brand Image
For Generation Z, the top 3 brands were Oreo, Nike, and Hershey’s. For Millennials, it was Nike, Hershey’s, and Amazon. What creates brand trust for them? It’s no surprise that kids like sweet treats, and apparently Millennials do too.
Most of those surveyed (80%) said they felt the most trust and loyalty towards brands that had been in business a long time. Familiarity seemed to be one of the major factors affecting brand image. Nike sponsors practically every sports team out there, so it’s no surprise that Nike made the top 3, while Amazon dominates the online marketplace. Respondents said that customer service was also very important.
What The Results Tells Us
It’s a bit disturbing how few of the top brands are known for their corporate values. In this list, only The North Face really makes an ethical stand. Clearly, we’re not moving the needle hard enough on things that matter. Watch my video and gain some insights on how you can support brands that focus on what matters to you.

Put our trust in companies that deserve it
Before we buy from any organization it’s a good idea to do some homework first. Are there any women on the board? Is the company involved in environmental causes? What about their labor practices? If they use child labor and sweatshops, they don’t deserve our customer loyalty. The website Purse Power can help you make the right decisions. Visit them here.
There are more factors affecting brand image than cost and marketing. Be clear as a company about what you want to be recognized for, and make the decisions that get your message out to the right people.
Ultimately, what creates brand trust is INTEGRITY. Let’s choose brands that support our values. That is how we move the needle.
So let me ask you this again… Whom do you support as an organization by giving them your buying power?

Do Investors Have Gender Bias?
If you are a woman looking for venture capital as a female entrepreneur, then you already know: The gender gap in regards to investment money for women is huge. In 2017 alone, $85 billion in venture capital was invested in businesses of various kinds and most of them had male-only founder teams.
The Ugly Truth About Women’s Access to Venture Capital Revealed
Only 7 percent of those looking for funding had female founders, and they only received $1.9 billion out of the total—a measly 2.2 percent. Abysmal as the numbers are for white women, it’s much worse for women of color. In all the years investors have been funding startups, only 26 women of color—EVER—have been able to get funding over $1 million. Watch this video to get all the numbers.
So, Do Investors Have Gender Bias?
So the answer to “Do investors have gender bias?” is “Yes, they obviously do.” Ironically, when they refuse to step up with venture capital for female entrepreneurs, they’re just shooting themselves in the foot. Investing in women actually has a lower risk than investing in men. If they bothered to look at performance, they would see that female-led teams, or at least teams that include women, outperform male-only teams by 63 percent (Check out this Forbes article written by Carrie Kerpen).
Team intelligence goes up significantly when women are included. Listening to different points of view always leads to more creativity and a more well-rounded plan of attack. Watch this video to get all the numbers.
What Can We Do to Close the Venture Capital Gap?
So what are women to do? There might be an answer! I was contacted recently by the founder of RateMyInvestor.com, a website that lets startups review their experiences with different investors. It has the potential to streamline the process of finding venture capital for female entrepreneurs.
We can reward investors who support us, and tell our fellow women how to avoid those who don’t. With enough of us participating, more and more VCs will see the advantages of investing in women. Eventually, asking “Do investors have gender bias?” will become a thing of the past.

Why Are Women Treated Differently?
When Nike supported Kaepernik, many thought it was a ballsy move. I think it was a diversion from the real issue that plagued the company — that is, the gender discrimination lawsuit lurking in the background. Yes, gender discrimination. At Nike.
Why Are Women Treated Differently?
It once again raises the eternal question: Why are women treated differently, even at some of the largest and supposedly best corporations in the world?
Learn more about this by watching my video below and tell me why you think women are treated differently even at some of the largest and supposedly best corporations in the world.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dhoFz17qL4&feature=youtu.be&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=12162018Video can’t be loaded: The Gender Discrimination Nike Lawsuit | Why Are Women Treated Differently? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dhoF...)
The Back Story
Way before Nike chose Kaepernick as the face for their campaign this year, they were hit with a federal lawsuit by multiple former employees. This gender discrimination Nike lawsuit was aimed at 12 of the 13 members of the Nike board of directors. This is huge. And, it is why more companies should keep one eye on the situation.
Nike’s stockholders are rightfully concerned about the rampant sexual harassment and gender discrimination that’s been going on for over 20 years within the company. Former employees are now seeking a total of ten million dollars from the board of directors and another ten million dollars from the former Nike brand president, Trevor Edwards. With this being a federal lawsuit, it is guaranteed to get even uglier.
What We Can Do About This
With lawsuits like this, why are women treated differently than men in this day and age? You don’t need to be a feminist to see that the times have finally caught up with American businesses, and discrimination isn’t tolerated anymore.
Nike may be trying to divert our attention away from this gender issue with their Kaepernick campaign, but we shouldn’t let them.
This gender discrimination Nike lawsuit is a perfect example that females are still being discriminated on the basis of their sex and gender.
However, it is also the perfect opportunity to send a message to the company and to all other businesses in the Western world that we won’t stand for this.
Are you also wondering why are women treated differently at every intersection? Please join the fight for equal rights.

The Role of the CEO in Gender Equality Programs
Promoting gender diversity in the workplace is still a big issue today. Many companies say they have a “gender equality program,” and you’d be amazed to find out how little money some organizations put behind it, if any at all. That is why the role of the CEO in gender equality programs is crucial to success.
Here is why executive buy-in is critical for the success of diversity and equality initiatives. Watch this video to get the numbers as well as insights as to how you can make these initiatives in your organization more successful.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9Kd4jXZO_I&utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=12092018Video can’t be loaded: Promoting Gender Diversity In The Workplace │ The Role Of The CEO In Gender Equality Programs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9Kd4...)
Empty Promises
A plan with no financial or executive backing is just empty words. Appearing to do the right thing and paying lip service to feminism might look good for the sake of marketing (if your customers don’t do any research), but you don’t actually reap any of the benefits of diversity in the workplace.
Yes, there are many advantages to having a diverse workforce. Basically, you want a team that reflects your customer base. A business that hires and promotes people of different race, gender, and background sees an improvement in the bottom line.
Promoting gender diversity in the workplace isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s the profitable thing to do.
Buying Bagels Isn’t a Women’s Program
As a leader, you owe it to your stockholders to implement a diversity initiative in the workplace. If you want it to succeed, you have to carefully consider the role of the CEO in gender equality programs.
The CEO needs to make gender diversity a part of the company mission statement and back that up with money and executive support. Make your position clear, and keep an open door policy to get regular feedback from your team on how things are going. If you hire a consultant, pay her. Free bagels won’t cut it. And if you think I am making this up all I am going to say it happens within Fortune 100 companies more often than you think.
Promoting Gender Diversity In The Workplace
The CEO Action For Diversity initiative is a group that’s committed to advancing equality and inclusion in the workplace. Find out more about them at https://www.ceoaction.com/. The hundreds of executives who signed this commitment know how important the role of the CEO in gender equality programs is to creating actual change.
If your CEO is not on this list, ping me and I’ll send you the Insights Paper to share so you can make a case for equality.
