Feature Friday – The Girl Most Likely

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

We’re back with the Anderson High Wolves for this week’s Feature Friday.

Lane and Matty. Lane. Lane. Lane.

That poor girl had a lot to deal with (accidentally committing arson leaves a social stigma on a person. WHO KNEW?!?!) and her way of dealing is to have her bag packed so she can make a run for the big city the moment she graduates.

She never counted on big, quiet Matty Bridges looking at her like she was something special. OH MY HEART.

Yeah. Lane and Matty. I have an idea brewing in the back of my head for another story for them. I just have to find the time to write it.

Genre: New Adult, Paranormal Romance

Lane Tennyson’s greatest wish is to finish out her senior year and disappear into the big city where no one will know her name. Because this town won’t let the girl voted Most Likely to Commit Arson (again) escape her past even though she’s grown up since then and moved on.

Matthias Bridges is content with his place in life. As the second in command to a future alpha, he can see his path laid out for him and it’s a bright one. The only dark spot is the way the girl who intrigues his wolf avoids him like the plague.

So what if she once set a local trailer park on fire? Accidents happen and Lane has grown from a gangly, angry girl into a beautiful, sweet young woman.

Finding out she has every intention of leaving and never coming back after graduation is unacceptable.

Because when a wolf finds his mate, there are no limits to what he’ll do to keep her.

Looking back on January

What a long, strange month it’s been.

Seriously. January felt like it was at least 412 days long. Probably more.

Not much to report on the KA front. I’ve been crazy busy with my day job. Two special projects with insanely close deadlines have left me exhausted at the end of the day, which means my writing has taken a backseat until these are off my plate.

Bluntly put, because of the day job I also haven’t had time to work on updating the Heart of Stone covers. At this point, I’m leaning toward releasing HoS 4 with the old style cover and updating the entire bunch when I have room to breathe. (Oh, look! A plan of attack for this weekend. Or next weekend. EITHER WAY!)

Not a whole lot to report, but there it is! Until next month!

Feature Friday – Buried Bodies

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

I’m feeling a little nostalgic for Jenny and her accidentally murderous ways, so let’s start our first Feature Friday of 2020 off with Buried Bodies.

JENNY AND EVAN.

What’s a body or two between friends, right? Except Jenny isn’t exactly Evan’s honey when things happen. She’s just a high school girl holding onto her sanity by a thin thread.

And when she snaps, she snaps hard.

Fortunately for her, she has a wolf who knows how to hide evidence who takes an interest in her and her plight.

Evan might not have known who Jenny was until the day he smelled blood and death on her, but once she’s in his sights, he’s hooked.

WEREWOLVES, MAN! So possessive. (In the best possible way, of course!)

Jenny Reynolds may be a mere human, but her life is anything but ordinary.

She’s juggling her senior year of high school, a sick mom, a brother who depends on her, and, oh yeah, there’s the matter of a body in the trunk of her car. As if that isn’t enough, the werewolf quarterback of her high school’s all-shifter football team has started sniffing around.

Evan Carmichael never noticed Jenny as more than the cute girl in his class until the day he smelled blood and death on her. Now she’s all he can think about. And when a werewolf becomes intrigued, he’ll do anything to keep the object of his fascination safe.

Even hide a body.

What’s a girl to do when the most beautiful boy in school wants to help her out of her jam? If she’s smart, she takes him up on the offer…

Happy New Year (and looking back on 2019)

Guyyyyyyys. I’m dealing with a pretty brutal cold and am kinda hopped up on cold meds so I can pretend to be a marginally functional human being, so this might make NO SENSE.

But here we are. Doing it anyway.

First off…HAPPY NEW YEAR, FOLKS! 2019 is out the door and I’m expecting great things from 2020.

Well, good-ish things, at least.

But let’s talk about last year, first.

2019 saw the release of 7 books.

Monstrous Reasons (Monstrous Revelations #6) – January 6
Monstrous Momentum (Monstrous Revelations #7) – March 10
Monstrous Changes (Monstrous Revelations #8) – April 16
Monstrous Revelations: The Complete Series – May 27
Rock Hard (Heart of Stone #1) – September 9
Grit and Bear It (Heart of Stone #2) – September 21
Rock and Road (Heart of Stone #3) – October 27

The rest of Heart of Stone is on tap for 2020 and then…well, I’m not sure. I have the 2nd Monstrous World book (Wild at Heart) in progress, but I also have a few other books I’d REALLY like to put out that are already written, so I’m torn on what the release after Heart of Stone will be.

BUT…that’s another story for another day. For now, rest assured that the rest of Vane and Cin’s story is coming (just as soon as I update those darn covers!) and there are PLENTY more stories in the pipeline after.

Here’s to a crazy and successful 2020!

Feature Friday – Demon Restrained

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

Would you look at this? We’re going back to the beginning with this week’s feature.

Demon Restrained. Bas and Evie. My first published book.

Oh, the memories.

Bas and Evie are close to my heart simply because they (a) were the first book I felt confident enough in to publish and (b) I got to play with one of my favorite scenarios which is a big, strong hero-type who has to rely on someone who seems very fragile and breakable, but who ends up being strong as heck once all is said and done.

Did I ever tell you guys that Bas and Evie’s story isn’t over? I have most of the second part of their romance written (technically the 3rd book in the series since book 2 focuses on Evie’s sister and her dude), so while they certainly get a Happily For Now at the end of book 1, rest assured that they do stick together and grow into their relationship.

*heart eyes*

Want to see how it all began? Here you go.

Bas wants out.

Held captive by a crazed Alpha, demon Bastael hates all those he’s come across on the mortal plane. When a damaged werewolf falls into his path, he’s determined to use her and find a way to escape.

Evie wants to be safe.

Abused by her Pack and afraid for her life, Evie hides in the dark corners of the basement. The demon that’s already down there? He’s better than the Alpha upstairs.

But neither of them expects the connection that sets them both on fire.

With the Alpha’s lust for power escalating, Bas and Evie will have to find a way to break free or die trying.

Warning: This book contains one cocky demon and one werewolf who’s stronger than she looks. That’s right, folks… If the basement is a rockin’, don’t come a knockin’!

Feature Friday – Laid Bear

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

Guuuyyyyyyys. It’s Ivan and Callie’s turn to be featured. IVAN!

Yes, I’ll freely admit I have a soft spot for quiet, but growly heroes. Especially when they find their special someone in their opposite. In this case, Callie’s a sweet, somewhat shy hybrid cat shifter who is UTTERLY OVERWHELMED by the bear shifter she’s been quietly crushing on for weeks when he turns his formidable attention in her direction.

OH, MY HEART!

The baker and the bear, my friends. GOOD TIMES!

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Being a bear in cat territory isn’t easy, but Ivan Hearne is determined to put his best foot forward and show the people of Oak Haven that bear shifters aren’t the rampaging beasts everyone believes them out to be. Scouting the perfect location for the restaurant his clan plans on opening gives him reason to wander around town and show everyone just how non-threatening his people can be.

And if he happens to meet a beautiful, tongue-tied hybrid who bakes the best salmon biscuits he’d ever tasted, that’s just one of the perks.

Convincing the shy beauty to give him a chance is Ivan’s new mission in life. Showing her she’s the treasure he believes her to be is a task he’s glad to focus on.

Introducing her to his clan? That’s when things start getting hairy.

Looking Back on November

Looking Back on November at KellyApple.com

Okay, people. I have THANGS to share.

First off, the next installment of Heart of Stone has been paused so I can put together a cover overhaul. To make a long story short, while I realized the original covers were very similar in appearance (which is not a bad thing because I want the covers to have a cohesive look so a person could tell the books were from a related series), they’re so similar even I’M having trouble telling them apart.

So. New covers for the 3 parts of the story already out and new covers going forward.

Which means I need to put together covers (I have an idea of what I want, I just have to find the time to sit down and CREATE!) before part 4 comes out.

While I have every intention of getting this done in December, it honestly depends on how crazy things get with the holidays and family. And my day job. Because, yes, I have a day job that is currently hitting me up with ALL THE DEADLINES.

So that’s the bad(-ish) news.

On the positive side, I NaNo-ed my way through November and absolutely didn’t write on any of the things I thought I was going to write on. (For the record, November was supposed to be dedicated to writing Wild at Heart, the book after Heart of Stone. I’m about a quarter of the way done with it at this point, so that’s my other focus in December and going into January.)

There you have it. Some writing, some (future) creating, and some…deadlines?

Yeah.

Feature Friday – White Collared

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

Kane and Carrie!

So. Kane and Carrie’s story was written after rereading books 1 and 2 SEVERAL MONTHS after I’d finished them and realizing I wanted to spend more time with these ridiculously oversexed cats. After all, the alpha of the pride needed his own happy ending and who better to give it to him than the brave human who’d stepped in to make sure Sam wasn’t abducting Luna from a bar.

Yeah, Carrie has some serious lady balls on her. Which, as you can guess, makes her the perfect person to challenge Kane and his sometimes autocratic (and sometimes asshole-ish) ways.

A full human and the alpha. HECK YEAH!

Release Date: July 26, 2017

Pages: 121

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Kane Mayhew, Alpha of the cat shifters and all around surly guy, has never been one to walk away from a challenge. So when a full-human walks into his business and asks for help, he gives it to her. He never expected to find himself in the middle of a possible inter-species war. Or trying to figure out how to keep the pretty human with him once he’d done as he said.

He was a cat, after all, and cats looked after themselves.

But Carrie Sato is intriguing. She calls to his beast and she’s fierce enough to stand up to him when he’s at his worst. When the help she asked for leads them into the territory of one of the meanest shifter breeds around, Kane knows he’s going to have to be as quick and deadly as his kind are known for.

Not only when it comes to keeping her safe, but also so he can stake a claim on her heart.

Because when a lion finds his mate, nobody better get between them.
