Feature Friday – Rock and Road

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

Awww, yessss. Making new friends while road tripping with your boo.

I honestly adore lonely supernaturals who want to connect with someone, so throwing Calliope into the mix (sirens! yay!) made for some fun times. Well, fun for me when Cin went all growly on her. Ha. Cin. So fierce.

We got a little deeper into the road trip AND the crew made a new friend (a new friend with a camper where sexy times can be enjoyed in relative privacy. Yessssss!).

And the road trip continues!

Release Date: October 26, 2019

Pages: 56

Genre: Monster Erotica, Paranormal Romance

Their road trip thus far had been rather uneventful and Cin was hoping it would stay that way. After all, looking for a lost gargoyle was more than enough adventure for one little human.

But strange things can happen while adventuring and meeting new friends is one of them.

So, as it turns out, is having your mate go all gargoyle-protective over you when he thinks you’re in danger.

Cin doesn’t mind Vane’s protective instinct, but it’s going to take a little time to adjust to their newfound friend. Which is fine. Because every mile brings them closer to her mate’s lost brother and Cin will do anything to help her gargoyle achieve his dreams.

Even make friends with a siren.

Warning: This book contains a lonely siren who just wants to reconnect with the supernatural population around her. Don’t worry, though, a true heart can’t be swayed and Vane’s heart belongs to Cin.

Looking Back on August

Looking Back on August at KellyApple.com

OMG! I have an release to announce this looking back. It feels like it’s been a loooonnng time since that happened.

SO. Gravel Bound came out in early-ish August and I have BIG PLANS to get part 6 released before the middle of September. Big plans. Huge.

Considering how slow I’ve been this year on releases, this feels fantastic.

That said, I’m going to be tinkering with the part 6 cover AND working around the promo for an upcoming freebie blast I’m taking part in. (Keep an eye out for that. It’s coming soooooon!) The point I’m attempting to make is this road trip is making forward progress. It might be slow progress, but we’ll get there. I SWEAR IT!

Until next month!

Feature Friday – Grit and Bear It

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

(I’m working on getting part 6 of Heart of Stone out, so why not take a look at the second installment of Vane and Cin’s journey?)

Let the road trip begin! Or at least let the setup and planning begin.

Given that Cin’s a teensy-tiny bit afraid of the flying portion of their planned trip, they end up setting out on the road. Which, you know, makes sense since this is a road trip book. They also have road-tripping companions. YAY! (Psst, Lon and Ivy will have their own book eventually. JUST YOU WAIT!)

Plans gone awry, a little roadside loving, and some deep thoughts in the dark of the night. ROAD TRIP FUN!

Release Date: September 21, 2019

Genre: Monster Erotica, Paranormal Romance

Planning a road trip with your gargoyle honey is fun…until you realize you’re utterly terrified of flying.

Cin Malone is ready to hit the road with her mate so they can seek out Vane’s long-lost brother. Sure, she might be a tiny bit afraid of the flying part of the trip, but she can totally get over that, right?

Vane disagrees. Now they’re setting out in the communal van with a couple of traveling companions and only a vague idea of where they’re heading.

It’s the perfect road trip set-up.

And if they find out a few things about one another along the way, even better.

Warning: The book contains a gargoyle who realizes he made a mistake in the past, a human who underestimated her fear of flying, and semi-public sexy times. This is road tripping at its best and Vane and Cin are in for a wild ride.

Feature Friday – Rock Hard

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

To celebrate the release of Heart of Stone part 5 (OMG! It’s finally here!), we’re going to take a look back at the earlier installments in the series. Rock Hard, man! The beginning of Vane and Cin’s story.

The overall story involves a road trip and facing your past and finding family and I REALLY LOVE IT. Part 1 gets Vane and Cin ready to go on their adventure. There’s some prep work and introspection and grumbly Vane getting all cuddly.

I mean, technically, he gets all cuddly any time he’s around Cin, so … yeah. Gargoyles, man. They may be made of stone part of the time, but they’re big marshmallows underneath.

Following the events that closed out the Monstrous series, Vane and Cin are about to set out on a road trip to right a few old wrongs. And maybe….MAYBE…have a few unexpected encounters along the way.

Writing a road trip book was fun. So much fun. These two trying to wrangle alone time while with friends in a small space made me laugh. But, as Ian Malcolm said so eloquently in Jurassic Park, “Life, uhh, finds a way.”

It does, indeed.

(And since I don’t remind people of the bonus scenes often enough…) Did you know there are several series shorts featuring this grumbly gargoyle and his sweet, human mate? Watch Vane and Cin do their thing with their Series Shorts.

Cindy Malone is one happily mated human. She has a gorgeous gargoyle as her other half, the monsters who once lived in the shadows have been revealed to all, and she’s living with her best friend and a slew of other supernaturals she adores. Sure, she might wish she could spend time with Vane during the day, but the nocturnal hours are workable and she’s learned to be happy with what they have.

The only thing she’s maybe a little teeny, tiny bit upset about is how little she knows about Vane’s kind. After all, how can she be a perfect mate to a gargoyle if she knows next to nothing about them?

That’s right, friends, it’s time to hit the books and start talking. Cin has some learning to do.

Warning: This book contains a gargoyle who likes sweet things, a human who likes hard things, and a bunch of supernaturals who are learning to live openly in the world again.

Heart of Stone 5 is LIVE!

I can hardly believe I can finally say this, but HEART OF STONE 5 IS LIVE!

(FYI, the book cover isn’t showing yet on Amazon (I’ve contacted them about it, so it should be fixed soon!), but it is there!)

As with all the Heart of Stone books (and all the Monstrous books and their assorted spin-offs), it’s available to read FREE with Kindle Unlimited. YESSSSSS!

In case you missed my ongoing cover woes, this is going to be the new look for the series. I just…didn’t love the old covers (mostly because they were all too similar) and desperately needed to do something different overall with them. The good news? I like this little beaut and it ties in with the visual look of the Monstrous covers (sparkles!) enough that I feel like you can sort of tell the books take place in the same monstrous world.

Plus, dude-chest. I like dude-chest.

What about the next installment? I’m ALREADY WORKING ON THE COVER (that’s me being excited, not screaming at you for no reason) and I have the edits queued up. Which means the wait between part 5 and part 6 should be MUCH shorter than the last wait. *awkward laugh*

Anywho. Here we are. With a book. Enjoy!

Cin and Vane have found Vane’s lost brother, but their journey continues. Vane believes he must confront his past if he’s to have a future with his mate, so the newly formed trio is heading to their childhood home to set things right with their old gargoyle clan.

But leaving Cin unprotected during daylight hours wears on Vane and he’s starting to wonder if there’s a way to break the curse his people were saddled with ages ago. A sexy roadside encounter leaves him even more confused and has him considering the ramifications of the old gods walking the world again.

The world is ready for change and Vane and Cin look to be at the center of it. Only time will tell if they can do what the gods have planned for them.

Warning: This book contains a grumpy, introspective gargoyle who thoroughly enjoys debauching his mate. Poor Cobalt. Some things can’t be unseen.

Feature Friday – Demon Besieged

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

Ahh, yes. Jazz and Arix. These two crazy kids have some fun together.

Well, after they get over Jazz’s desire to maim anyone who gets close to her. But, pfft! Minor road bump, right?

Jazz is sassy. A little blunt, too. Which…doesn’t work so well with Evie’s fragile self-confidence. Jazz has a lot of preconceived ideas about Evie’s life with their father that don’t line up with the reality of it. She also has to wrap her head around the idea that Evie wasn’t dead (there’s a lot to unpack here, isn’t there?) as she’d been told and she doesn’t react all that well to seeing her scared sister the first time.

WHEW! Let’s just say Arix takes on a big project when he decides to woo this feisty werewolf and show her not all demons are monsters.

This series was originally planned as a typical paranormal-style series with each book focusing on a different couple. Evie and Bas were book 1, Jazz and Arix were book 2…and then I realized I wanted to give Evie and Bas more closure and wrote an as-yet-unpublished book 3 that revolved around them. (And that book’s sort of sitting in my slush pile at the moment, isn’t it? I should really go back and see if it’s in any shape to show the world. I mean, it’s been SIX years since Demon Besieged was released. That’s a long time to leave my characters in limbo. HAHAHA. Omg.)

Anywho. Jazz and Arix. The sassy werewolf with vengeance on her mind and the demon determined to show her how good life could be if they were together.

She’s determined to avenge her sister’s death.

Jazz’s journey to the demon plane takes an unexpected turn when she finds not only her sister alive but shacked up with the very demon who was supposed to have killed her. And the worst part? An infuriating demon bodyguard stirs longings in Jazz that she doesn’t want to face.

He sees something more.

Arix is intrigued by the sassy werewolf. Even when she’s making a mess of things, her fiery personality calls to him. She might be rough around the edges, but he senses a heart of gold under all her bluster.

Together they could be perfect.

What’s a demon to do when the wolf he wants to claim is determined to stay single? Turn up the heat and show her what she’ll be missing, of course.

Warning: This book contains a werewolf who constantly puts her foot in her mouth and a demon who likes a challenge. Never underestimate the power of good innuendo.

Looking Back on July

Looking Back on July

What a long strange month it’s been.

Heh. Not really. But it was a busy month. Unfortunately, the busy came courtesy of my day job, not my writing. And tweaking my back this past week DID NOT HELP WITH MY PRODUCTIVITY.

That said, I DO have a cover for Heart of Stone 5. I have a few rough edges I want to smooth out, but I’m pleased with it overall and that’s a start. (A big start since the delay in the release of this installment was ALL because of that darn cover.)

My goal (pending my back cooperating and letting me sit at the computer for marginally decent stretches at a time) is get part 5 polished and uploaded for release by the 15th. (Okay, my real goal is to have it done this week, but HONESTLY the way 2020 is going I want to be realistic about it. LOL!)

Here’s to productivity, RIGHT?!?!?

Feature Friday – Demon Restrained

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

Ahhh, yes. Bas and Evie. My first published book and…well, let’s just say I have a soft spot for this damaged couple.

How did this book come about? I wanted to write a story about a determined demon who genuinely thought he’d do anything to escape the captivity he found himself in. As it turned out, there were lines he wouldn’t cross and hurting the one individual who was as trapped as he was was that line.

Evie saved him in her desperation and in doing so saved herself.

*SWOON*

Yeah, I still get a little mushy with these two.

(And since I don’t remind people of the bonus scenes often enough…) Did you know there are several series short featuring a growly demon and a painfully shy werewolf? Watch Evie work on coming out of her shell with the Demonkind Series Short collection.

Bas wants out.

Held captive by a crazed Alpha, demon Bastael hates all those he’s come across on the mortal plane. When a damaged werewolf falls into his path, he’s determined to use her and find a way to escape.

Evie wants to be safe.

Abused by her Pack and afraid for her life, Evie hides in the dark corners of the basement. The demon that’s already down there? He’s better than the Alpha upstairs.

But neither of them expects the connection that sets them both on fire.

With the Alpha’s lust for power escalating, Bas and Evie will have to find a way to break free or die trying.

Warning: This book contains one cocky demon and one werewolf who’s stronger than she looks. That’s right, folks… If the basement is a rockin’, don’t come a knockin’!

Feature Friday – Hard Wired

Feature Friday at KellyApple.com

HA! Oh, Eugene.

Eugene, Eugene, Eugene.

This guy. He went from a socially awkward human dude who spent all his free time on Pinnacle Point’s virtual hookup site to a…uhh, computer yeti? Or, you know, something like that.

He’s still socially awkward, but he TOTALLY fits in with Pinnacle Point’s supernatural weirdness now.

Bonus, his new next door neighbor is VERY into hairy supernaturals. YEAH, SHE IS!

HA! This one still cracks me up. Because Eugene.

(And since I don’t remind people of the bonus scenes often enough…) Did you know there’s a series short featuring our hard bodied geek and his lady friend (and his grandma, but it’s not weird I SWEAR!)? You can see how gloriously awkward things get for Eugene in A Whole Lot of Something.

Hard WiredHard Wired

Release Date: March 16, 2016

Genre: Monster Erotica

Eugene Turner could be the poster child for the socially awkward. In real life, his pick-up lines always fall flat and he’s more of a laughter generator than a stud.

Which is why he prefers spending most of his time hooking up with the lovely ladies he meets online instead of prowling the bars for a real-life honey. When he’s wired in, he has women begging for his attention and enough naughty pics sent to him to keep him happy night after night.

An unexpected betrayal, a transformation of epic proportions, and a meeting he never expected could give Eugene everything he never knew he was missing. As it turns out, there’s someone out there for everyone when you live in Pinnacle Point. Eugene is proof of that.

Warning: This book contains a man who can’t keep his hands out of his pants. Or his pants on. Or pictures of himself off the internet. Some people have all the fun.
