"We’re always writing about
what we lost, who has hurt us
and how one day we will be
together..."
what we lost, who has hurt us
and how one day we will be
together again.
But this time I’m writing about
the memories we created before
we knew just how easily
distance and time could pull
our hearts apart and make
our love question why we even
decided to take a chance
on each other in the first place.”

I didn’t want to leave her side

what do you love about Lolita?
I love Dolores Haze. I love her character, although we hear little from her. I love her most in the1997 film because of her spontaneous personality. I love the way she speaks. People consider Dolores to be the bad one, for some odd reason, but she is the hero of the story. She is the one who was trapped and escaped, and although she did not escape into a better life, she escaped and was able to manipulate the monster who stole her from her life. She is very innocent, no matter what others say. I am always wanting more from her, more words, actions, thoughts, more about her life while she escaped from Humbert and was thrown out by Quilty. Dolores is just beautiful to me and dear to me and I see a lot of myself and parts of my own childhood inside of hers. I wish the story could have gone the other way and she would have lived and went on to do great things. But since the story is told from Humbert’s perspective it leaves you with very little knowledge of who she is. Unlike Humbert, you have to interpret who she is and piece her side of the story together to see that she was not the bad one but the hero. She was just a child robbed of her childhood and was given the wrong idea of love and nurturing. Even though she didn’t have a very good relationship with her mother, seeing as though Charlotte and Dolores were fighting for Humbert’s affections, she needed that stability and that home and that life where an adult figure didn’t punish her for wanting to live and be free and for being child but showed her how to grow up and gain a conscious. I just love Dolores (Lolita), and I am always wondering what she is thinking and feeling, instead of Humbert.
extremely satisfied with this purchase

It will be the most toxic people

will never grow, when really
it is the energy that they give off
that is the reason to why
you can’t blossom yourself.
