Tzu Chi volunteers sent relief to the fire victims in Brgy. 649, Baseco, Manila on May 24 following the fire incident on May 19 that left 277 families and 1,021 individuals homeless.

Tzu Chi Works with Catholic Church to Help Ukrainians in Warsaw



 


Since March 2022, the Tzu Chi Foundation in the Polish cities of Lublin, Poznan, and Warsaw has distributed supplies and gift cards to Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

Tzu Chi Spread the Spirit of Coin Bank in Warsaw


In 1966, Tzu Chi started with 30 members who saved NT 50 cents (about US 2 cents) every day to do charity work in Taiwan. That was the origin of the Tzu Chi spirit of the coin bank. And its volunteers have been spreading this spirit in Poland.

In Poland, Tzu Chi Brings Warmth and Love to Ukrainians



 


In May 2022, Tzu Chi volunteers from eight countries and regions gathered to bring aid to Ukrainian refugees in Poland. They have prepared supplies, blankets, and also gift cards, equivalent to cash. They have communicated with supermarket chains carefully so that the Ukrainian care recipients with Tzu Chi gift cards can buy what they need.

Professor Yung-Hsiang Hsu's Last Pathological Anatomy


On the morning of May 13, the farewell ceremony of Professor Yung-Hsiang Hsu was held at the Memorial Shrine of Tzu Chi University. Nearly 300 students and colleagues from the school and Tzu Chi Hospital gathered there to say goodbye.

Tzu Chi Distributes Gift Cards and Blankets in Warsaw



In Warsaw, capital of Poland, Tzu Chi held eight distribution sessions on two consecutive days from May 14 to 15, providing Ukrainian care recipients with gift cards and blankets. After getting to know Tzu Chi, people shared information with each other and felt the care like members of one family. There were 2,101 people on the distribution list. Each received a gift card worth 2,000 Polish zlotys (about US$450), and each person over the age of six received an eco-blanket. A total of 1,763 people got blankets.
