Tzu Chi Delivers First Batch of Aid to Ukrainian Refugees in Poland

On March 5th, Tzu Chi volunteers held their first distribution of relief goods for Ukrainian refugees since Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded their country on February 24. They carried out the distribution in a suburb of the western Polish city of Poznan, at a location provided by the Skórzewo district government.

Tzu Chi Volunteers in Taiwan Make Blankets for Ukrainian Refugees

In Taiwan, Tzu Chi has launched a project to help Ukrainian refugees. Starting from March 3rd, volunteers at the Foundation’s Neihu Office in Taipei produced nearly 6,000 blankets in three days. They hope that they can be delivered to the Ukrainian refugees as soon as possible.

Tzu Chi Helps 127th Country -- Tonga

On January 14, an underwater volcano erupted in the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific Ocean and triggered a tsunami. After the disaster, many small islands were devastated and almost ran out of food. A Tongan New Zealander asked the local Tzu Chi for help, and immediately its volunteers provided emergency assistance. It made Tonga the 127th country in the world to have received help from the Foundation.

The war between Russia and Ukraine is still raging, forcing hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to take refuge abroad. Master Cheng Yen, founder of the Tzu Chi Foundation, cannot bear to see their hardship and urged everyone to pool their love and kindness together to eliminate disasters.

Tzu Chi Builds New Home for Large Family in Taiwan before New Year

In Zhuoxi Township (卓溪鄉), Hualien in eastern Taiwan, there was a tiny house that used to accommodate five families. Because the space was so limited, sometimes the children had to sleep in the car.

Celebrate Lantern Festival in El Menahil School, Turkey

February 15th is the Lantern Festival in the lunar calendar, and grand events are held all over Taiwan to celebrate the festival. Although Turkey and Taiwan are far apart, Tzu Chi volunteers in Turkey, including Nadya Chou (周如意), a Tzu Chi volunteer from Taiwan, organized activities for the teachers and students in El Menahil School to introduce and celebrate this beautiful day.

Tzu Chi Brings Warmth to Needy at Place of Buddha’s Enlightenment

Bodhgaya is the place where the Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. It has become a holy place of pilgrimage and tourism. To repay the Buddha’s grace, Tzu Chi volunteers take care of the needy there with gratitude. There are many pilgrims of course, and beggars, too. After nightfall, it is freezing cold. How can these poor and homeless survive the brutal winter? Seeing their needs, Tzu Chi volunteers in India brought 300 thick blankets and food rations.
