A Special Thank You to Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital for Safeguarding Lives at a Quarantine Hotel

On May 31, 2021, Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital stepped up to undertake a major responsibility and joined New Taipei City government in running a quarantine hotel in Xindian district for confirmed Covid-19 patients. As the pandemic slowly came under controlled, the quarantine hotel had stopped receiving new patient on July 16. Then on the early morning of July 22, an overall environment disinfection began. Finally, on July 30, this quarantine hotel was decommissioned and returned to normal operation. To expression the government’s appreciation, Mr. Chen Chunjing, Deputy Mayor of New Taipei City, and Ms. Gao Shuzhen, Deputy Director of New Taipei City Department of Health went to the quarantine hotel on July 29 to present the certificate of appreciation to the medical team, hotel staff, and the police. Their dedication and hard work were greatly appreciated.

Work Together to Help the Zhengzhou Flood Affectees

On July 20 2021, would any commuters in Zhengzhou, Henan province in China, foresee that they would be hit by torrential rain and be stuck in a road tunnel and the subway? An astonishing 8 inches of rain came down between 4 and 5 p.m., and resoulted in deaths and damage in Zhengzhou.

Tzu Chi Hospital Opens in Jakarta, Indonesia

The Buddhist Tzu Chi General Hospital Indonesia had its grand opening on June 14, 2021. It has about 520 beds and is the first general hospital in Indonesia to perform bone marrow stem cells transplants. It also provides internal medicine, surgical, pediatric, and gynecological services.

Mongolia Seeks Pandemic Response Lessons from Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital

In Mongolia, an average of more than 1,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 occurs daily since the beginning of July. Needs for medical capacity increase rapidly. Mongolia’s Fourth Hospital is going to admit Covid-19 confirmed patients. To ensure the better preparation, they learned from Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital over video conference. Medical teams shared experience openly and discussed actively.

Chinese Medicine Jing Si Herbal Tea Reduces Covid-19 Virus Count

At the end of 2020, Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital developed Jing Si Herbal Tea for health and wellness. Covid-19 pandemic peaked in 2021. Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital surveyed and provided Jing Si Herbal Tea to Covid-19 patients every day. Clinical finding showed patient’s virus count and inflammation index had gradually decreased.

Celebrating Golden Anniversary and A Rebirth After Covid-19 Recovery

Medical team of Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital prepared a special surprise for a couple on the day of their discharge. This was a day symbolizing their rebirth because they had recovered from Covid-19. Nurses helped Mrs. Wang to put on a white wedding veil and Mr. Wang a blue tie to celebrate their golden anniversary, 50th Wedding Anniversary. This couple was very touched.

Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital Supports a Quarantine Hotel

Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital steps up to serve at one of the five special quarantine hotels in New Taipei City. This location admits 174 patients with mild or no symptoms. Medical team has to monitor patient’s condition constantly. Dr. Chao Youchen, Superintendent of Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital, went to the special quarantine hotel to encourage patients and medical personnel.
