October Reveries – I read some more and I’m making a writing course!

October was so bittersweet! I’ve had a lot going on but overall, I’ve definitely been taking advantage of my recent graduate status!

I started doing Pilates again, which is a special kind of torture that I weirdly prefer over going to a gym. But last week my friend and I took a spinning class -they offer those in the same place too- to get some cardio going and… I got wrecked.

Of course I made sure to tell the instructor that I didn’t even know how to a ride a regular bike. He walked us...

Forbidden Series by Syrie and Ryan M. James | A revision oF an old favorite

Forbidden came out a few years ago, back when it was way easier for a story to completely ensnare me. Unfortunately, the book had an open ending, hinting at a sequel to come, which would take all this time to get published. I truly, truly, loved Forbidden when I first read it so I knew I needed some closure and finally get to read what happened next!

The authors were kind enough to add a free copy of the first book along with the sequel. It was a superb idea on their part since, granted, I...

How I started reading in english -and why I continue doing it

It’s no secret that a lot of us in the community aren’t native english speakers. Regardless, our paths have brought us here, together. I won’t dwell too much on how right or wrong or dangerous to our own cultures this is, because that is a complicated discussion that merits its own post. But it’s worth bringing up.

In the latest issue of the Ya zine, Stay Bookish, some awesome people -ahem, me too- collaborated on a international-themed article that explores some of the struggles and facet...

September Reveries – I’m a graduate!

Yes I am! But before I get into that, I just want to say wow. This year has flown by so fast! And I haven’t read nearly as many books as I’d planned.

September began in a rush for me, since I was rushing to get everything in order before my thesis presentation. I can now assure you it went great! My mom also arrived around that time and stayed for a few weeks with us. She had plans for remodeling the house so I spent most of this month using my phone to take photos of granite and lamp opti...
