Blaze’s Thoughts on Fitting In

Well, it turns out I’ve been thinking so much about the writer interviews lately, that my MC from my current WIP is feeling left out. So, I talked to her for a bit -nearly getting my hair burnt, mind you- and, she seemed okay too cooperate with the story again, IF she was allowed to give us a piece of her mind.

I’ll leave you with her, and… well… I’m just gonna, you know… huddle in a corner.

Blaze

I’m sure it’s like this in many places, but before all the c...

K.L. Cottrell -Writer Interview

Hello! Today, I’d like to introduce Mrs. K.L. Cottrell, writer of romance fiction, and her work, the Light Trilogy with the first book being:What Hides in the Darkness.

Hey, K, so how did you come up with the idea for this story?

This ideawas born a few days after I said something tactless to a friend of mine who’d just survived the death of a loved one. I hadn’t meant to hurt her feelings, of course; it was one of those times where something totally insignificant happens to you and it’s in no...

So Over You -Gwen Hayes

I know, I know. This book is from 2010! Regardless, it’s one of my favorites too. I’m kinda taking a break from reading books this week ;) Probably so my parents think I’m not an addict. (Don’t tell them I am!)

On with the review!

Layney Logan, girl reporter.

That’s all she’s ever wanted to be. This year, her senior year, not only does she have to share the coveted Senior Editor position with her arch nemesis, Jimmy Foster, she also has to figure out how to keep the school paper alive. With the lo...

Manuscript Wish List (MSWL) Is Out

Do you have what those agents are looking for? Go get’ em!

This weekend I was going through some tweets in my timeline when I came across the hashtag #MSWL Every tweet tagged like this was from an editor or agent telling what they’d wish to see sent to them and I was like :O

I’m not in a querying stage yet, but you guys gotta admit this will be very valuable for a lot of you. This is one step more to a better communication system betweenwriters and prospective agents. Because, a lot of us, -esp...

Isabell Lawless -Writer Interview

Say Hello to the featured writer of this week, my first guest over here: Isabell Lawless

I came across this lovely lady in a Goodreads group and she accepted to answer some questions for the blog. Thanks again, Isabell! She’s going to talk a bit about herself and her soon-to-come book:Beast of Venery

Very curious, I proceeded to snatch my pen from my hair and started to take note.

When did you first decide to write this story, and why?

I’ve had a few pieces of this story in my head for a long tim...

Of Beast and Beauty -Stacey Jay

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I read a book a while ago, and today, while I was eating ice cream after having passed my driving test, I remembered how mind-blowingly it awesome it had been. It brought a smile to my face, and I decided I wanted more people to know about this awesomeness.

In the beginning was the darkness, and in the darkness was a girl, and in the girl was a secret…

In the domed city of Yuan, the blind Princess Isra, a Smooth Skin, is raised to be a human sacrifice whose death wi...

First Interview Ever!

This happened by chance and I have to admit I feel like when I started college. I know it might seem like an everyday thing for some people, but for me, it’s the most awesome thing in the world. Okay, breathe.

New Story Idea

I was read a book a few weeks ago, and today, (while I was showering, yes) I came up with something for NaNoWriMo. *rubs hands*

Jen Allen doesn’t exist.

At least, that’s how it seems like where it matters. Her boyfriend has just unoficially dumped her, without a single word spoken to her. Her friends have built an invisible but very, very high iron wall surroundingher. Everyone at school ignores her, except forhim.

Max O’Donell. A bad boy in everyone’s eyes. He’s made a point of doing exactly th...

Myth #1: YA Fiction Is For Crazy Teenage Girls

girl-reading-book59115302_std

There are a lot of misconceptions surrounding this awesome genre.

So, I’ve decidedI’ll start clearing some doubts. The first one that has come to my attention, is that reading YA is just for teenage girls and if an adult reads it, then she must be a single woman, a crazy woman, a woman who thinks she’s a teenage girl, and things like that.

They say it as if it’s something bad, hinting at that this is a poor reading choice. These readers are often regarded as immature, and dumb.

Gosh, and don’t e...

Roleplay: The Ultimate Tool

For starters, what is Roleplay?

Roleplay is the adoption of a role, and acting on it. But, for this post, I’m going to adress only text-based roleplay. (Sorry DnD fellows). Why? Because it’s one of the most useful tools for writers to get to know their characters in a deeper level.

Basically, in a text-based roleplay, it goes like this:

Jane:Hey *waves*

John:Don’t look at me. I’m a ghost. *glares*

Okay, so this was just an example. But you get the drift. Of course, you can choose the level of deta...
