They killed my mother. They took our magic. They tried to bury us.
Now we rise.
Zélie Adebola remembers when the soil of Orïsha hummed with magic. Burners ignited flames, Tiders beckoned waves, and Zélie’s Reaper mother summoned forth souls.
But everything changed the night magic di...

I opened a Youtube Channel (Again)!
I’m back at it again with the videos, only this time it’s slightly different. About a year ago I started my own youtube channel using the same name as the blog, Reverie Society. My videos were in spanish though, so of course, most of the friends I’d made in the blogosphere, wouldn’t be able to understand them so I turned my attention to my spanish-speaking friends. Not that it did me a lot of good. I wasn’t very passionate about it because of three main reasons:
It was extremely time cons...July 22, 2018
On learning how to draw and do calligraphy
This is not a bookish post, that’s clear. The thing is, lately I’ve been struggling to come up with post ideas -only one post in all of july-, mainly because my mind won’t let me think of much until I’ve published a review post. But, as you may have noticed, I’ve been stuck with one book for almost two months now. I’ll get to it, I promise. So, I decided to talk a bit about my new sort of hobby.
I’m not sure if I can really call it a hobby since I don’t practice as much as I should, but I’v...

Why sometimes we take too long to read books
It’s frustrating, and can even end up being exhausting. There are so many reasons why progress reading a book can slow down. This post is actually inspired by my current read: Children of Blood and Bone. Yes, I know. How can I? It’s a book that is currently receiving so many praises. So, it’s even more frustrating that I can’t just finish it once and for all and enjoy it just as everybody else.
Time
This one is a no-brainer, and what I think is going on here with me and CoBaB. Each time...

5 TV shows I’m in love with right now
This week I’ve been feeling quite uninspired blog-wise. I’m hoping I can make some progress with my current read during the weekend though. So since ideas for thoughtful disccusions escape me at the moment, it’d be fun to talk about some shows that I’m currently in love with.
The Originals
The Vampire Diaries wasn’t that bad the first few seasons, but after a while it just got quite dull. I mean, it was hard to take it seriously when there were witchy workarounds for everything. And Ele...

May Reveries -My head is full of projects
While April was my moving forward month, May might be my all-the-projects month. I’m still in a productive set of mind but there’s so many things to do! And most of them are things that I want to do. The problem is, omg, there’s never enough time!
Reviews
Yay! I was able to finish the Illuminae Files series this month. I reread the first two books before getting into Obsidio. Rereading Gemina gave me the chance to finally review it. Now the three reviews are up if you want to check them...

Do you HAVE to be on Bookstagram?
Instagram is a beautiful, beautiful platform. Sure, there are pros and cons, like with any other social media, but we can’t deny it, it’s as popular as waffles (seriously though, waffles are more popular than ever these days). Talking about the book community, it’s no surprise we bookworms have found yet another way to express our book addiction. And the bookworms on instagram? My, are they getting attention. With all the influencer stuff going on, brands pay them attention, and I can’t he...
