Book Piracy and Them and Me

Book Piracy, them and me

This is a rather shameful post to write, but it also feels good coming clean about it, and it’s about time someone raises awareness about what’s going on in some countries, in my country. It was also very difficult writing it. How to say you used to download books in pdf illegaly without sounding like a complete asshole?

The band-aid method it is.

But yes, that’s the truth.

What the hell? Why?

I know, I know. Believe me, I know. You see now why it’s so embarrassing? Back in 2010, 2011, I us...

Book Blogger Love-a-Thon: Return of the Dragon Lady

QuestionnaireReturn of the Dragon Lady

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great day! I’m here for another round of love this year with the Book Blogger Love-a-Thon event, hosted by Alexa, Cee, Hazel, and Mel.

Since I put some things in the About Me section, and I already did this the year before, I’ll do my best to add some things I haven’t mentioned before :)

1. What’s your name?

Hi, my name is Pamela Nicole. There was a time when I was obsessed with Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal and used the name Annie online. In fact, if...

The 3 Spanish Verbs That’ll Save Your Life

Just so you know, my late fixation with the number 3 is entirely coincidential!

This second post about the technical part of the spanish language will focus on verbs. Please do try to not to fall asleep XD

So, verbs. Cue, gigantic sigh.

English: Regular and Irregular verbs. Spanish: The same damn thing.

Only, in spanish we have these three categories of regular verbs. The ones that end in -ar, -er, and -ir. Something you might be making faces at right now because in english all regular ve...

3 Things I’d Like to Write About One Day

3 Things I'd Like to Write About One Day

Like many of you, I’m currently working on a WIP, which I shall not talk about today because it’s driving me nuts. It gets frustrating because I want to just finish already so I can start working on these other projects I have, which causes me a negative vibe. And who likes negativity? I decided to have a much more positive outlook on my not being able to write about these other ideas yet, and here’s a list of some things that have been on my mind.

A contemporary romance

I started one abou...

Life with a Self-Hosted WordPress Blog

Life with a Self-Hosted WordPress Blog

I should have changed the title to ‘I should be writing a review’, or ‘I should be preparing the next Language Tales post’; but hey, not everything always works out as we’d like to.

With that out of the way, I also want to clarify that this isn’t a how-to to go from free platform to self-hosting. There are plenty of people out there who explain it way better than I ever could. I don’t want to turn this into a rant though. I want to talk about why some romance plots work, and others don’t, especially when it’s actually a subplot. Romance books themselves handle the romance a little better, since they have little else in what to support themselves.

But what makes you root for a couple in a fantasy, or sci-book?
