3 Books You Must Try if You’re Into Dark Ones

darkbooks

Yay! So the trailer for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is out, and if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend you to do it. If not, well, there’s always the book!

These are three books that have this dark tone that we’re sometimes in the mood for.

Everything 2016 -Lets Wrap it Up

I haven’t done a Wrap-Up post in forever! As with most of the things I don’t do, it’s due to my laziness.

What I’ve been up to

Obviously, to no good. Cue evil face. Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been plotting to take over the world. It’s a long-term plan so don’t worry yet.

In other news, which are not shocking at all, I hate college with a passion that is almost equal to how much this dog must hate life.

Poor doggy. I feel you bud.

Fortunately, I’ve been on break since mid-march,...

Are We Doing the Discussion Thing Wrong?

I think we all agree that there’s really now ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to write a discussion post, so what’s up with that title? It has more to do with what we identify as a discussion.

Have we started calling everything not reviews or memes a discussion post?

Personally, I have *raises hand*. As you may know, the gals at It Starts at Midnight and Feed your Fiction Addiction have this amazing discussion challenge going on, and in this last year and some more it’s been how I’ve discovered new...

My Story’s Book Genesis

My Story's Book Genesis

A Book’s Genesis is hosted by Daniela at Daniela Ark, and it’s about talking about our WIPs, these awesome things that will hopefully become published books one day. It’s a really great idea because the topics for each month so far make you think deep about your story and help you have a clearer image of it in your mind.

abooksgenesis

And now let me introduce you to my new WIP, the one I’m working on for Camp Nano: It doesn’t have a name yet, sorry

I guess it’d be much easier if I talked about the othe...

A Writer/Reader at the Beach

What Does a Writer-Reader Do at the Beach

If you must ask, yes, those are my feet :3

You know how for the Language Tales post series I promised no grammar for the next post? Well, this is it.

I haven’t gone to the beach in a little over a year, and if you’re a ‘Costeña’ [View post to see spoiler], that earns you some suprised gasps. On the holidays, be it Christmas, New Year, Easter, or a birthday, most Ecuadorians kind of gravitate towards the beach.

A lot of people say our beaches are beautiful. I know there are some incredibly br...

Color Inspiration for the Frustrated Mind

Color Inspiration for the frustrated mind

I don’t know you people but march has been a particularly draining month for me. In other words, I hated it. But reading, plotting a new story and watching TV shows with my family has made it all quite better. Recently, I’ve been playing around with the more visual aspects of creativity, by using Pinterest, and Instagramin order to influence the writing part, which is what I’ve been struggling with!

I’m not a designer, but I could spend hours checking out color palettes. In fact, I put toge...

8 Thoughts on Twilight, 8 Years Later

8 Thoughts on Twilight 8 Years Later

tumblr_m8gfgyLRcY1qjwa0g

Today I sat on my couch, my bookshelves in front of me, and the top shelf caught my attention. One of the few complete book series I own. Twilight.Dun-dun.

The Twilight books were, in my opinion, a huge game changer in the publishing industry. Of course books in general have been being made into movies for the longest time, but Twiligh began a trend… It marked a whole new era, the era of the YA rage. Whohoo!

For better or for worse, they do deserve some merit.

Then

I read the books in 200...
