Fuel & the Anthropomorphic Nature of God

There’s leaded and unleaded fuel. Gluten free and gluten filled. Love and hate. Hope and despair. The choice is mine. The fuel I choose manifests on a range from easy going to bumpy and difficult. “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” We don’t know that the choice of fuels is ours or even that there is a choice. We blame powers outside ourselves – blacks, Jews, Muslims, Mexicans, liberals, Republicans, God – for our experiences. Really? Whenever you point at someone or something remember, there are four fingers pointing back at you. The life energy is neutral even benign. Stop being a victim. Consider that the function of prayer isn’t to influence God, but rather to change our mind about the nature of God.

Though many contemporary religions act as if God is Zeus, I suggest that’s not the way it is. God is the Source, the life force, the energy in, thru and around us. There’s no need to beg, plead or bargain. It’s our choice to see it as leaded or unleaded, gluten free or gluten filled, love or hate.

Holding On

To what? Why?

The deepest things that matter have already shaped us.

The river doesn’t hold onto the water that flows thru it. Yet it has an intimate relationship with it.

We all sense there is something greater than we are that wants to flow thru us. It seems to threaten our egos. It is. We are so much more than our egos. We know that when we attune to that greater something. Our egos soften and still when we release and relinquish. We rest within and allow action to arise from that place. The ego vision that once compelled gives way to effortless flow.

Geez! Why didn’t I allow this sooner?

Like the mermaid, we yearn to share out inner experiences but forget not everyone can go where we go. Too often we take such inability as rejection. It’s not. We all share this essential aloneness. Yet, when we express it to another, we don’t feel it as strongly.

Shoulding on Yourself

Boy, is that something I do! You too, probably.

Too much of life is directed by, “I should do this,” or “I shouldn’t do that.”

It is possible to get clear of the “shoulds” and shift to the “coulds” and “woulds”; to hear the “shoulds” and go past them, deeper, letting go of judgments and self criticism to the wonder of being.

What would I do if I knew I couldn’t fail?

What would I do if I accepted the fact that you can’t please everyone?

Courage! The answers are there, stop shoulding on yourself and you’ll find them.

Energy

Energy is; it’s already in through and around us, constantly flowing; constantly taking new forms. We don’t have to create it. We only mold it. What template are we using to mold it? What mental equivalent are we using?

Using the template of scarcity, it seems that the Universe or the power we call ‘God’ limits its giving, that there’s not enough. But could it be if we use a different template, say abundance, we’re able to see it’s not God that limits us but our own ability to receive?

The decision to receive is the decision to accept the reality that the energy is already in through and around us, constantly flowing; constantly taking new forms; that we don’t have to create it, we only mold it. It’s also the decision to realize how we’ve misunderstood this our whole lives, but are now willing to take responsibility for how we’ve been and will be using the energy.  “Neither God’s light nor yours is dimmed because you do not see.”
