Can you manage or prevent Alzheimer’s naturally?

Alzheimer’s disease seems to be on the rise.  With so much focus on our fast changing habits, foods, and environments, one wonders if we can’t manage or prevent Alzheimer’s naturally.

Can we manage and prevent Alzheimer’s naturally or holistically?

Recently, Roland and I were guests at the powerful Move For Minds fundraiser – an event organized by the The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement – a non profit organization dedicated to education for prevention and delay of brain disease.

We were at Move...

We sit down without guests to update you on our latest events, where we learned about preventing and managing Alzheimer’s disease through nutrition, movement, and lifestyle.

Galina & Roland alone…

We sit down across the desk from each other – with no guests to protect us – to update YOU on what’s been happening lately.

And it’s a lot!

Spoiler alert!  We won the award we talk about in the show. If only we’d known when we recorded, but nope.

Eat Well, Move Well, Live Well wins the Foreword INDIE Gold

We are so thrilled, happy, and honored that our book, Eat Well, Move Well, Live Well – 52 Ways to Feel Better in a Week has won the Gold in this year’s Foreword INDIE Awards!

The list of nominees was long and distinguished, and some of our friends, mentors, and heroes were in the running right there with us. Our friend and mentor Katy Bowman’s Movement Matters took a Gold in Essays and our health hero Mark Sisson’s The New Primal Blueprint took a Bronze in Health.

Furoshiki – The Vibram Minimal Shoe Review

When the Furoshiki shoe  first came out, I got tagged half a dozen times on Facebook. “Have you seen these shoes? Oh, wow, what do you think?” Well, I bought a pair, wore them a while, and I’m ready for my vibram minimal shoe review of the Furoshiki!

Roland and I do our absolute best to teach from honest, personal experience. Whether it’s a shoe, a pair of jeans, or my favorite merino wool workout clothes, we literally wear our opinions.

A new minimal shoe we love!

A year or so ago, back when the Furoshiki shoe came out, I got tagged half a dozen times a day on Facebook. “Have you seen these shoes? Oh, wow, what do you think?”.

Roland and I do our absolute best to teach out of honest personal experience and whether it’s a shoe, a pair of jeans, or a recipe, we literally wear our opinions. I won’t lie, seeing those shoes online definitely made an impression on me. They seemed light and flexible, thin enough, yet not too thin to wear outside, and somethin...

Do you have to hold your abs tight?

Remember the last time someone playfully pretended to punch you in the stomach? Even though you knew that person doesn’t mean you any harm,  you still instinctively hold your abs tight. Your whole core tightened and you pulled back. Once you realized they were playing, you probably even “playfully” punched them on the shoulder…You didn’t think, you just reacted.

When you saw it coming, you didn’t have to tell your abs “hey, tighten up down there, a punch is coming and there are vital organs t...

The EatMoveLive52 Journal will be based on our latest book, which features “52 Ways  to Feel Better in a Week,” and more. Remember the great drawings from our friend Eli? There’s more where those came from!

Albondigas Soup – my paleo meatball soup recipe

If you’re looking for a great “real food,” primal, or paleo meatball soup recipe, look no further. You’ve found it!

Last night I made my favorite albondigas soup, which is a Mexican-style, paleo meatball soup. It’s filled with plenty of meatballs, and tons of veggies. We’re not paleo purists around here, but if you are, know that the corn and rice are optional. This is a pretty good albondigas soup recipe, corn or no corn, rice or no rice.

Meatballs are one of my favorite foods to cook and ea...
