TBT! Retirement Advice for President Obama
(Originally posted 3/1/14) This week all the news programs aired a video of our President and Vice-President jogging around inside the White House in their shirts and ties. The idea of the video is to support Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative to fight obesity in the U.S. It’s ironic that to reduce obesity she wants us to sit down to watch a video.
This is just embarrassing. For cripes sake Obama! This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen a President do, and that includes Lewinsky. You’re t...

Top Ten Tuesday! The Ten Funniest Tweets I Read Last Week
Sadly, none of these were written by me. I love my Twitter though. If I was still doing stand-up I’d be stealing from Twitter all the time. In no particular order of funniness, here are ten tweets that made me laugh this week.

Music Monday! Motion City Soundtrack
In my ears this band can do no wrong. I think they’re considered alternative, but with an upbeat tempo and clever, catchy lyrics their music is always a fun listen. Sadly, I had to miss seeing them live in January because I punished my son for something by taking away the concert trip. It was tough because I wanted to go too.

If We Were Having Coffee…I’d Probably Want to Punch You
On Saturdays many people post a “If we were having coffee…'” post as if they’re telling you what they would tell you if you had coffee with them. This is my “If we were having a beer…” sarcastic version of that after a really annoying week.
The Dress: Seriously? Why did the whole world spend all of Thursday staring at a picture of this dress on the internet? Is it blue and black or gold and white? Who cares?!!? Idiots! I’m doing internet research to find out what company makes this dress and I’...

Throwback Thursday! If I Can Make It Here…
(2/8/14) Have you ever been in a moment or a situation where you think to yourself, “I wish I could take a photograph of this and remember everything about that exact moment forever?” I rarely have my laptop handy in one of those moments, so usually I take a mental picture. Today, right now, I have my laptop, so I’m going to write about it until I feel like I’ve captured that moment, that feeling.
It’s 10:45 pm in New York City and I’m in a hotel bar with a glass of wine and my laptop. It’s a...

Mix Tape
A brilliant and hilarious poem about rock music and heartbreak. If you liked music from 1985-1995 you’ll love this.

Monday Music! Bowling for Soup
Bowling for Soup is a pop-punk band of dudes almost my age. The name of the band is derived from on old Steve Martin stand-up joke. This song, 1985, is full of 1980’s references and is hilarious, as are all their other songs. Yes I’ve seen them in concert too.
