Book Review: Revival by Stephen King
Up front I will say that I’m a Stephen King fan. On his worst days he’s better than most writers on their best days. His descriptive abilities and attention to detail paint mental pictures with a texture that is unmatched. Remember The Beatles? The world’s most famous and most popular band? They had 20 number 1 hits. Stephen King is The Beatles of writers. At least for me he is.
Although The Beatles had twenty #1 hits, with twelve albums there were probably about 100 other songs from those alb...

TBT: The Everyday Oscars!
The Oscars are this Sunday. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll hear my name called. If not, I’ll award myself an Everyday Oscar as I first did when I wrote this post in February of 2011.
Well, it’s happened again. I was passed over. Not a single Oscar nomination. The whole process is completely biased against people like me. Ok, I know that there aren’t really other people like me, but that does not excuse the Hollywood establishments prejudice against me. The Oscars have been hand...

Music Monday! The Rembrandts
Long before they sang the theme song for Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe, The Rembrandts did have a legitimate hit song that hit number 14 on the Billboard charts. I should know because I bought the cassette tape.

Throwback Saturday? The Present Tense
This post is for all the guys that may still be scrambling for a last minute gift for Valentine’s Day. For the ladies it may help you when you think to yourself, “What the hell was he thinking?” It was originally posted in 2006. Yes, I was blogging back then. It is also an excerpt from my book #FiftyShades of Phil.
The Present Tense
How we communicate, what’s important to us, and the inequities of societal grooming expectations are all ways men and women differ. Another great divide between the...

A Special Valentine’s Day Interview with The Dating Doctor!
David Coleman is The Dating Doctor. Is he a doctor who is dating? Is he dating a doctor? I don’t know and it’s none of our business. Don’t worry my literary friends; David’s expertise won’t be limited to just the questions I ask here. He’s got books. Books you need to read before you do further d...

TBT! Angst Away! The Cure for that Valentine’s Stench
(02/15/2014) That’s right ladies and gentlemen, it’s Angst Away! The body spray that covers up your pure hatred of Valentine’s Day! Can you smell it? A day after Valentine’s Day the smell of romantic angst everywhere is starting to fade.
Look, I don’t have all the answers in life. I’m just a boy, standing in front of a computer asking you to read my blog, which in my world equates to love. If I get that little “like” click or God forbid, (gasp), a comment, I suddenly turn into Tom Cruise jumpi...

The Top Ten Things Brian Williams Made Up
This week it was discovered that NBC News anchor Brian Williams fabricated a story about being in a helicopter in Iraq in 2003 that was shot at. Although NBC is undertaking their own ‘investigation’ of Brian Williams, most of the ‘expert’ reporters reporting on a story about another reporter report that Brian Williams isn’t likely to be fired because with Williams at the desk, NBC News is the no. 1 ranked evening news show. Of course nowadays being the no. 1 ranked evening news is like having...
