TBT: Fake Your Own Life
(04/05/2014)If you are reading this I may already be dead. That’s an attention grabber eh? You know how some people fake their own death to get out of debts, marriages, or legal situations? I plan to fake my own life. Heck, most people are already faking their own life on social media, so why not take advantage of the modern technology?
The miracle that is social media will let me live on forever whether I actually do or not. Here’s my plan: Because Facebook let’s you write, save and schedul...

Wordless Wednesday: Las Vegas Ferris Wheel
Let’s be honest, I might as well call this Few Words Wednesday because I’m never capable of being wordless. The High Roller opened in March 2014 and is the world’s highest observation wheel. The picture is by my brother who lives in Vegas. I hear that the Brits have built one just like it in London. I can’t believe they stole this great idea. Have a great Wednesday! ~Phil

Top Ten Tuesday! The Ten Best Stand-Up Comedians of All Time

Keep in mind that this is a very subjective list. I know there are a lot of great, young comedians out there now, but they need to do a little more to make an all time list. If you’ve got other favorites I’d love it if you’d share them in the comments. If anyone mentions Dane Cook you’re banned from The Phil Factor.
10.Bobby Collins:He may not be an all-timer as far as the entirety of his career, but once I was watching his stand-up special and I was laughing so hard tears w...

Music Monday! Joywave
The band Joywave is from my hometown and they went to the same high school as one of my sons. About four weeks ago they were on Jimmy Kimmel Live! They’re currently very popular in the alternative rock world and I genuinely liked them before I knew they were local. They played at the South By Southwest Festival last week and I may go to see them when they play a hometown gig this summer.
Have a great Monday!~Phil

When I’m Elected President, or Sexiest Man Alive…
When I’m elected President, or Sexiest Man Alive, whichever come first, I’m going to fix the calendar. What? You didn’t know it was broken? Or is it that you didn’t know that being Sexiest Man Alive came with such all-encompassing powers? Either way, you’ve got a lot to learn.
Yes, the calendar is wrong. It’s all wrong. So very wrong. Me? I’m right. Completely right. My plan to reform the current calendar is not unprecedented. Our current calendar was first reformed by a visionary by the nam...

Throwback Thursday! The Phil Factor Turns 10!
Tomorrow is the day. Exactly ten years ago tomorrow I published the first Phil Factor post. I didn’t really know what I was doing or why. I had made a few jokes at work and a friend said, “That’s funny. You should blog about that.” Here is the text of the first post I ever wrote under the title The Phil Factor.
(April 3, 2005)What Up Dawg?Is it just me or is everyone sick of Randy Jackson’s act on American Idol? How many times can we hear, “What up dawg?” Or his other favorite, “It was a li...

Wordless Wednesday: London
That London scene is the only painting in the world exactly like it, and it was painted for me. It was a Christmas gift from Mrs. Phil. I went to London last year and enjoyed my trip immensely. The painting was done by talented local artist Kerrianne Buduson. You can find more about her art at at her Facebook page.
Have a great Wednesday! ~Phil

Top Ten Tuesday! The Ten Awesomest Reality Shows
Until someone decides to make a reality show about a certain blogger, these are some of the more interesting reality shows out there.

DIY network &youtube.com
Vanilla Ice Goes Amish: Two of my favorite things, Vanilla Ice and the Amish! This show has ‘ten year run’ written all over it.
My Strange Addiction: Because it shows people addicted to all manner of weird behavior it may seem like taking advantage of the mentally ill, but a lot of it is professionals trying to help these people. I once...

Music Monday! A Song As Old as The Phil Factor
This was the number 1 song in the U.S. this week in 2005. Why did I pick this? Because I love Kelly Clarkson? No! I chose it because this week in 2005 was when I launched The Phil Factor. Since this song, Gone, was released in late 2004, Kelly has also released songs titled Already Gone and Since You Been Gone. I think Kelly’s ability to come up with original song titles is what’s really gone.

Three Things…
I usually don’t post on Sundays, preferring to let my literary work of art from Saturday have time to breath and soak in the usual adoration (yes, tongue in cheek here) but I had a few odds and ends I wanted to get out there.

1. Apparently someone named Zayn Malikleft a band calledOne Direction. So there’s a job opening? *Rushes to LinkedIn to brush up resume. Uploads video to Youtube*
2. Yesterday I posteda hilarious post about how people Googling “real sexting conver...
