Whatever faults one may find with Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, it’s inarguable that the man has been both a consistent winner (with a career winning percentage of .614) and a complete professional during his NFL career.
Wilson has generally avoided controversy, all while being the consummate teammate and playing one of the most demanding positions in sports.
Given all that, and the fact that Denver overcame a slow start this year to get back into playoff contention, there was some mild surprise when it was announced this week that the Broncos would be benching their very pricey signal caller.
Wilson had been playing perfectly fine this year, even outperforming a number of his more lauded peers, and very much looked like a starting NFL quarterback.
One bad loss hardly felt like reason enough to bench him, and yet that’s exactly what appeared to happen after the lowly New England Patriots beat the playoff-seeking Broncos 26-23 on Christmas Eve.
Only, it turned out there was far more to the situation than meets the eye, as laid out by The Athletic’s senior NFL insider, Dianna Russini.
On Wednesday, Russini noted some of the more bizarre details about how the Broncos were treating Wilson — who, by the way, signed a mammoth five-year, $245 million contract extension with Denver last year that doesn’t even go into effect until 2025.
“Russell Wilson is expecting to be cut by the Denver Broncos in March, per league sources. For almost two months, the quarterback has been starting knowing the organization was most likely going to move on him from after this season,” Russini posted to X.
“The Broncos reached out to Wilson’s representatives in late October and explained that Wilson would lose the starting job and be made inactive for the rest of the season if he did not defer the injury guarantee trigger date that he has for 2025.”

Russini continued, “Wilson has $37 million in injury guarantees for 2025 that will become guaranteed on the fifth day of the 2024 league year in March. Lawyers, including some with the [NFL Players Association], were involved, and no changes were made to the contract.”
The NFL insider concluded with one last note about how Denver levied this threatening non-threat at the veteran QB.

So, to recap: Russell Wilson (who is top 10 in virtually every meaningful quarterbacking statistic this year) helped the Broncos win six of nine games after a 1-5 start, thrusting the team back into playoff contention.
As a reward, the team allegedly threatened Wilson over a clause in the lavish contract they offered him. Meanwhile, Wilson was reportedly working his tail off for the Broncos with the sword of Damocles hanging over him.
It would be real easy to be bitter about all this, and there’s a non-zero chance Wilson is apoplectic behind the scenes.
But publicly? The star quarterback shared a powerful message about why he’s not worried.
“God’s got me,” Wilson said in an X post. “Looking forward to what’s next.”

It’s the perfect response that also highlights another important aspect of this story — Wilson’s unwavering faith, something he’s never, ever been shy about.
If Wilson were some malcontent thug who allegedly broke a little boy’s arm (see: supremely talented but supremely troubled Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill), this type of treatment from the front office would probably be seen as harsh, but necessary.
But Wilson has only ever conducted himself as a class act and a man of faith.
It’s not clear what — if anything — he has done to necessitate a benching in favor of Jarrett Stidham, a career backup who couldn’t carry Wilson’s bags on his best day.
Hopefully Stidham doesn’t get hurt when he suits up against the Los Angeles Chargers or Las Vegas Raiders, because this writer can’t even begin to fathom the awkwardness of the Broncos having to return to Wilson with their tail tucked between their legs, asking him to play again.
One final note and proof that God has a wonderfully ironic sense of humor:
Multiple oddsmakers have pegged the Patriots — you know, the team that sort of sparked all this drama by beating Wilson and the Broncos on Sunday — as the favorites to acquire Wilson if/when he is released by Denver.

Fake News Media Makes up a ‘Black Santa’ Controversy Over Bringing Back Christmas Film Advertised on TRUTH Social | The Gateway Pundit
The fake news media did it again…
A recent ad on TRUTH Social has caused quite the holiday stir. So much so that an anti-conservative website decided to make it the subject of an article blasting MAGA TRUMP FANS as having a meltdown over a Christmas movie ad. Ironically, the article commits the same sin – and worse. Let me explain.
The post in question was about the new independent movie BRINGING BACK CHRISTMAS starring Leigh-Allyn Baker previously of Disney channel’s hit series “Good Luck Charlie” and Mark Christopher Lawrence of the popular TV show “Chuck”. In the film plays Daniel, a caring father, who is laid off from his 17-year job two weeks before Christmas. A spirited angel, played by , takes him on an offbeat trip back in time – a la “It’s a Wonderful Life” – to observe Mary & Joseph and the difficulties surrounding the birth of Jesus & the “First Christmas”. Daniel learns to face his momentary troubles by trusting that God does indeed have a plan.
One of BRINGING BACK CHRISTMAS movie’s sponsored ads on TRUTH Social features Lawrence wearing a Santa hat, garlanded with a string of Christmas lights. Baker is featured as a glowing angel with a playful smile standing next to him. Both of them loom over a small depiction of the Nativity.
While many on the platform actually looked up the film, watched it, and left positive feedback thanking TRUTH for advertising the inspiring movie BRINGING BACK CHRISTMAS; several users jumped to conclusions. The self-proclaimed “independent journalism” site took only the ignorant comments and ran with them, using it as an opportunity to decry TRUTH Social at large and alluding to the platform’s users as bigoted “MAGA Trump Supporters”.
It is a major concern when those with the power of influence use it for ill intent. The agenda-driven website swept an entire platform under the “racist” rug, intentionally creating propaganda. How in the world have we gotten to this point? Just because I use an iPhone doesn’t mean I ascribe to the belief system of other iPhone users. Or if I order something on Amazon, do I think the same way as all of their customers? This line of thought is asinine.
What the article’s author did by highlighting only the negative comments is actually detrimental. Ignorantly jumping to conclusions is one thing. Purposefully slanting and manipulating information to suit your end is entirely another. This is exactly why people are sick and tired of what is being called “Fake News.” In their article, they didn’t include the full story. Many TRUTH users obviously looked up the film, watched it, and left positive comments saying they enjoyed it. But, instead of including any affirming reviews as a part of their “expose”, cherry-picked comments were used to support biases and comments ignored that didn’t. Ultimately what this demonstrates is a sad lack of journalistic integrity.
This situation also highlighted a few other issues in our current society:
Snap opinions and judgments made without even a cursory understanding of a subject
Oversimplification and categorization based on our biases or the perceived biases of others
As to the first point, a few platform “users,” if they were indeed real people and not bots or paid operatives on TRUTH, did make snap decisions based on an IMAGE. (WOW! Stop the presses. This has never happened before!?!) They saw the “holiday hat-wearing” man and made some egregious leaps in their conclusions. The article’s author used a few of the TRUTH user comments, making ALL Trump supporters appear to be having a meltdown. It’s almost as hilarious as Media Matters decrying Elon Musk and X for anti-semitism while they highlight articles supporting Hamas.
Secondly, some of the “users” didn’t even take the time to click on the image to watch the trailer or visit the website to see if BRINGING BACK CHRISTMAS was, in fact, about a “black Santa”. In all honesty, the time they took looking up derogatory memes could have been spent verifying their confirmation bias assumptions rather than running with them.
Now more than ever, the ability to research, learn, and grow as people is literally at our fingertips. With information so readily available, it is important to think twice before jumping to conclusions. Which – ironically – is the message of the film BRINGING BACK CHRISTMAS. Daniel ends up gaining a new perspective, and so will you by seeing a side of the Christmas Story in a delightful new way.

Miserable Trump-hater Kathy Griffin filed for divorce from her husband after nearly 4 years of marriage.
Griffin, 63, is 18 years older than her estranged husband, Randy Bick.
TMZ reported:
Kathy Griffin doesn’t seem too nostalgic about anniversaries … because she’s decided to end her marriage, just as she and Randy Bick would have celebrated their 4th.
Kathy filed divorce docs Thursday in L.A. County, citing irreconcilable differences. According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, she and Randy have a prenup … which she wants the court to enforce. Translation: no need for the judge to grant spousal support.
Randy, who’s a marketing exec, and Kathy didn’t have any kids together … so, no issues with child support either.
Whatever went wrong, the breaking point was recent — in the divorce petition, she lists Dec. 22 as their date of separation.

The Z-list ‘comedian’ made headlines recently when she posted a nightmarish photo of her new tattooed lips.
“The Big Reveal. I got my lips tattooed and the healing process was…. Something. My friend @thekristenjohnston thought they were “noticable”, what do you guys think stay to the end for final results!” Kathy Griffin said in a video posted to her Instagram in September.
Kathy Griffin has used her hatred for President Trump to stay relevant.
In 2020, Kathy Griffin told CNN’s Jim Acosta to stab President Trump with a syringe full of air.
Air embolisms, or air bubbles in the bloodstream, can cause potentially fatal strokes.
CNN’s Jim Acosta tweeted: Trump at diabetes event at WH: “I don’t use insulin. Should I be?”
Kathy Griffin responded by telling Acosta to kill President Trump.
“Syringe with nothing but air inside it would do the trick,” Griffin said in a tweet responding to Jim Acosta.
“FUCK TRUMP” she added.

She previously received a visit from the Secret Service after her Trump beheading stunt which also landed her on Interpol’s watch list.

Pope Francis’ ‘Fiducia Supplicans’ a Failure of Biblical Proportions – Writer Is Controversial Bishop Accused of Covering up Sexual Abuse Allegations in His Diocese | The Gateway Pundit
We warned here on TGP that the new Vatican Head of doctrine was a train wreck waiting to happen – well, it did.
Most non-Catholics don’t have any idea about what the ‘Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith’ is – and this name also doesn’t ring a bell with many members of the Church.
But call it by its original name, and nearly everyone will know it: the Holy Inquisition.
It’s the oldest among the departments of the Roman Curia, founded to defend the Catholic Church from heresy – and is the body responsible for ‘promulgating and defending Catholic doctrine’.
Its seat is the Palace of the Holy Office in Rome.
In 1965, it became called as the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith before receiving its present name – but it’s still informally known as the ‘Holy Office’.
It’s a very prestigious office, former Pope Benedict XVI – then called Archbishop Joseph Ratzinger – headed it with great success during John Paul II’s papacy.
It’s the Pope’s ‘Doctrinal Watchdog’ responsible for ‘guaranteeing that Vatican documents and Catholic theological publications meet minimum standards of orthodoxy’.
Pope Francis, being the pontiff hell-bent in ‘reforming’ (many say destroying) Catholic Doctrine, chose the ‘perfect’ man for the ‘task’.
Back in July, I published here in TGP an article called Pope Francis Places Controversial Argentinean Bishop as New Head of Discipline and Doctrine – Monsignor Fernández Wrote Book About the ‘Art of Kissing’, and Is Accused of Covering up Sexual Abuse Allegations in His Archdiocese
Below is an excerpt of it, to remind us:
“Globalist Pope Francis continues unabated in his struggle to remake the church according to his very peculiar view. Now the Argentinean pontiff has selected a controversial countrymen for one of the most powerful posts in the Ecclesiastic Hierarchy, in a move that generated protest in sectors both inside and outside the Church.

“Pope Francis on Saturday chose a bishop who is a trusted theological advisor from his native Argentina for one of the Vatican’s most powerful positions — head of the watchdog office that ensures doctrinal orthodoxy.
Francis named Monsignor Victor Manuel Fernández, the archbishop of La Plata, Argentina, as the prefect, or chief, of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.”
“The Dicastery, or department, enforces orthodoxy of church teaching and disciplines theologians deemed to have strayed from Catholic doctrine in their lectures or publications. But it has taken on considerably more importance to rank-and-file faithful as the stain of pedophile priests spread across the globe in recent decades. Among the department’s duties are evaluating and processing sex abuse allegations against clergy.”
ABC News reported:
“A U.S.-based group that tracks how the Catholic hierarchy deals with allegations of sexual abuse by clergy says Pope Francis made a ‘troubling’ choice in appointing an Argentine prelate to a powerful Vatican office that handles such cases.”
In 2019, Fernández ‘refused to believe’ victims who accused a priest in the La Plata archdiocese of sexually abusing boys, and disregarded the accusations.
That is disturbing, for a bishop set to have the responsibility of judging and punishing priests who abuse children.”
“Francis ‘made a baffling and troubling choice’, the group said in statement emailed late Saturday in the U.S., citing how Fernández handled the case.
‘In his response to allegations, he stoutly supported the accused priest and refused to believe the victims’, BishopAccountability.org said. Fernández ‘should have been investigated, not promoted to one of the highest posts in the global church’.”
And the criticism also comes from inside the church, as many conservative catholic have reservations about his theological work and his adherence to the orthodoxy he is to defend.
Catholic news site reported:
“Fernández is the author of more than 300 theological works, including the 1995 ‘Heal me with your mouth. The art of kissing’, which was not included on the list of his publications released July 1 by the Vatican.
The Holy See press office said that the archbishop’s writings were marked by ‘a significant biblical basis and a constant effort to create a dialogue between theology and culture, evangelizing mission, spirituality, and social issues’.”
That a book like that is inappropriate for a man in his position is half-admitted by Fernández himself in the first paragraph of his book: “I want to clarify that this book was not written so much based on my own experience, but based on the lives of people who kiss. In these pages I want to synthesize the popular feeling, what people feel when they think of a kiss, what mortals experience when they kiss.”
So, knowing the man, it’s easy to understand why Fiducia Suplicans is such a massive flop. After all, who wants the author of ‘The Art of Kissing’ to be reforming millenary doctrine?
Christopher R. Altieri wrote in The Catholic World Report:
“Fiducia supplicans is crowded with caveats and brimming with qualifications, many very carefully drawn, over 5,000 words. It is evident that the declaration’s author and his commissioning principal both knew it would make waves. But it is unlikely either Fernandez or Pope Francis expected the tsunami of reaction that came in short order.”
Some dioceses in liberal-decadent western Europe made a show of enthusiastically embracing the business.
“From other jurisdictions—many of them geographically located in the global south—the reception ranged from frigid to actively hostile, with several national bishops’ conferences flatly refusing to implement the declaration at all.
The cardinal-president of the Symposium of Episcopal Conference of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM), Fridolin Ambongo, issued a call mid-week for talks among African bishops with a view to preparing a unified “continental” response.”
Ambongo, it bears saying, is a member of Pope Francis’s C9 “small council” of cardinal advisors.
Fernández told The Pillar that there is no change in the doctrine on marriage — male-female, exclusive, indissoluble, naturally open to the generation of new life.
“It’s nice to have the DDF prefect on record saying there isn’t any change in said points of doctrine, but the fact he had to say it itself makes it difficult to credit the idea that there is much clarity in either Fiducia’s particular propositions or the theological articulation it gives for them. Now, the practical realities facing both the DDF prefect and his principal are indeed daunting.
[…] Pope Francis has put himself in an impossible situation. Popes do that, from time to time. It usually isn’t that big a deal. In the age of instant communications and 24-hour news cycles, however, a big enough crisis could put the implosion of a pontificate on display for the entire world, in real time.”

Headphones, streaming boxes and more
The nature of predictions is that we get a few wrong. When it comes to discussing the future plans of Sonos, we imagine the audio giant wants it.
So we can guarantee that Sonos will always be cooking something up, but can never be too sure when it’ll appear. In 2023 the Era speakers arrived, followed by the Move 2 outdoor speaker and then Sonos shut up shop for the year.
There’s the usual teasing and hints of info online, so what follows is what we’re expecting from Sonos in 2024, although don’t ask us to guarantee if it will happen…
Definitely a headphone, we think…
It’s been years since we first heard about Sonos getting into the headphone market. We’ve heard about over-ear headphones that support Wi-Fi, as well as a true wireless pair, but nothing concrete materialised from leaks.
But something seems to have changed. Sonos CEO Patrick Spence mentioned the company was looking to move into a new category in the latter half of 2024. However, we think that’s another product entirely unrelated to headphones.
Various reports suggest a headphone could be launched by April 2024. Could it be an over-ear? True wireless? Both? Again we’re not sure, but something is definitely brewing and it smells like a Sonos headphone.
A streaming playerWe mentioned above that Sonos was moving into a new product category. Around this time last year we wrote about Sonos looking for a UX Lead – Next Generation Home Theatre Experience, and if it aligns how we think it will, all this adds up to a streaming box.
Little else is known but it’ll of course leverage Sonos’ knowledge in creating platforms and integrating streaming apps, competing with the likes of Apple and Amazon in the market. A rumoured price of $150 – $200 indicates a premium box rather than a streaming stick. We will look on with interest to see what this streamer will bring to the market.
More Era wireless speakers?
credit: SonosThe Era 100 and Era 300 were the beginning of a new range of speakers. The assumption is that Sonos wouldn’t stop there and continue to expand.
The question is when – 2024 or 2025? If the above is true and Sonos is entering into two brand new categories, it’s unlikely it’ll want to spread its focus thin and deal with another big launch.
It always struck us as curious that Sonos began with an Era 100 and 300. Considering Sonos’ previous policy regarding naming convention, an Era 500 is more likely than an Era 200. But who knows, maybe Sonos could surprise us…

Each year, Newsbusters gathers examples of outrageous partisan virtue-signaling masquerading as “journalism” for their list of “awards” of the worst of the worst.
This year, the leftist hacks in the media provided plenty of options to choose from.
There was so much to choose from, in fact, that NewsBusters editors expanded their list and broke the Worst of 2023 into eight additional categories, including “The Craziest Analysis Award; The Damn Those Conservatives Award; The Joy of Hate Award for Joy Reid Rants; The Jihadist Journalism Award for Helping Hamas; The Damning Florida’s Dictator Award; The Praising and Protecting Old Joe Award; The Cursing the Conservative Court Award and the Celebrity Freak-Outs Award.”
This year, The Jihadist Journalism Award for Helping Hamas went to CBS’s Imtiaz Tyab for his Hamas cheerleading and the implication that homicidal terrorists who murder babies and use rape as a tool of war are really just plucky little underdogs with a dream.
Tyab told his audience, “You know, over the years, I’ve made frequent trips to Gaza and have spoken with several Hamas leaders, and, you know, they know their military capabilities are no match for Israel’s enormous firepower. But what they lack in firepower, they make up for in ideology and sheer determination.”

The Women’s March featured numerous speakers using violent rhetoric, including the singer Madonna who said that she had been thinking of ‘blowing up’ the White House.
The Women’s March, as an organization, quickly crumbled due to multiple charges of anti-Semitism.
This woman clearly thinks of herself as part of the anti-Trump ‘resistance’ so her efforts to get Trump removed from the ballot should come as no surprise.

Speakers, such as Democratic state Sen. Shenna Bellows of Manchester, the former director of the ACLU of Maine, acknowledged the fear people have about the future under a the new administration. But Bellows and others encouraged them to remember that they are not alone, that it is important to stay engaged, and that there is power in numbers.
“When you look back at our nation’s history of civil rights it’s one of both tragic loss and setbacks and forward action of people,” Bellows said. “And we are a more just and equal society than we were at our nation’s founding or even 50 years ago. And so I have confidence that good people coming together and persevering will prevail.”

Seattle Bulldozes ‘BLM Garden’ After it’s Overrun With Homeless, Drugs, and Rats (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
After the BLM riots of 2020, the communist ‘CHAZ’ in Seattle created a ‘Black Lives Matter’ garden. The city just bulldozed over the garden because it became a magnet for homeless people, drugs and rats. How ironic.
It appears that the people behind the garden weren’t very good gardeners.

Seattle closes Black Lives Matter garden amid rampant homelessness, drug use and vandalism
Members of Seattle, Washington’s Parks and Recreation department, along with city police, removed a community garden planted in Cal Anderson Park as part of the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 on Wednesday.
City officials said in a statement that the “makeshift,” temporary garden was being removed because of public health and safety concerns, as well as for maintenance reasons including reseeding and turf restoration.
The efforts on Wednesday also included the removal of tent encampments located near the garden and outside the park along E. Olive Street, which city officials said was to ensure the public spaces remain clean and open for everyone.
So far this year, the City’s Unified Care Team has cleaned up encampments at Cal Anderson Park 76 times, making the park one of the most frequently addressed areas in the city for repopulated encampments, the city said.
City officials also said the temporary garden has created unsafe conditions for people who enjoy the park. Examples of incidents include vandalism in the park’s public bathrooms, public drug use, unauthorized camping and an increasing rodent population.

Despite Biden’s constant claims of being ‘Scranton Joe,’ the voters of the Keystone State are increasingly trending Republican, just in time for 2024.
A reporter for NBC recently spoke to Pennsylvania voters about the economy and got an earful about how unsatisfied people are with Biden.
Trump won Pennsylvania in 2016, so it can certainly happen again.

Democrats in Pennsylvania — President Biden’s birthplace — are flipping to the Republican Party in droves, according to the swing state’s recent voter registration data.
Pennsylvania holds crucial importance for Biden’s reelection bid. He notably hailed Philadelphia campaign donors as the “backbone” of his presidential campaign earlier this year.
As of Dec. 18, 35,589 Democrats reregistered as Republicans in the state so far this year; in contrast, 15,622 Republicans switched to the Democratic Party, data from the state department shows.
The state trend was first reported Tuesday by Newsweek.
Biden’s ties to his home state deepen with wife Jill’s roots in Montgomery County and granddaughter Maisy’s recent graduation from the University of Pennsylvania.
On Wednesday, the White House announced that Biden would make his first visit to Philadelphia on Jan. 6.
Nathan Benefield, senior vice president of the Commonwealth Foundation — a Pennsylvania-based public policy think tank — said that while Pennsylvania is a swing state, “by all the polling, Joe Biden is unpopular here,” and much of it is attributed to the president’s “Bidenomics.”
Republican activist Scott Pressler says the state is in play.

Dean Phillips, the Minnesota Democrat who is challenging Joe Biden, recently appeared on the Dan Abrams show on News Nation and declared that Trump is going to beat Joe Biden in 2024.
He tells Abrams that Democrats know this and are saying it privately, behind the scenes.
Phillips doesn’t have much of any chance for 2024 but what he is saying here is newsworthy.

REP. DEAN PHILLIPS: Sure. Two reasons. The country doesn’t know me yet, which is going to take some time. The bigger issue is I’m a threat to a system many people are trying to protect, and that is a problem. It is a duopoly. It is a political-industrial complex that is always focused on a coronation, not really focused on a competition, particularly when you have an incumbent president.
But this is an unusual time, as you just pointed out. Donald Trump is going to beat Joe Biden. I’m going to say it again., Donald Trump is going to beat Joe Biden. Most people know that.
The conversations are all being had privately, not publicly. That’s the difference, it is going to take a little time…
Alarmist? I think people who are not being alarmist about Donald Trump are delusional! That’s the whole reason I’m here today, that’s why I’m running for president. It’s not what I anticipated. I tried for a year to encourage the president to pass the torch, I spent the better part of six months encouraging candidates who were better known than I am right now to enter the stage.
