The Fascinating Story of Vince Guaraldi, the Jazz Musician Behind the Music of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ and Other Peanuts Specials (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
One of the most iconic aspects of the 1965 animated special ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ is the music. There is no denying that the jazz stylings of Vince Guaraldi set the tone for the cartoon perfectly.
The most recognizable piece of music is called ‘Linus and Lucy.’
— Greg Price (@greg_price11) December 24, 2023
You can listen to the whole piece here:
The story behind this is music is fascinating. Open Culture reports:
When A Charlie Brown Christmas first aired 58 years ago, few had any confidence that it would be a hit. Its story and animation, bare-bones even by the standards of mid-nineteen-sixties television, made a positive impression on neither CBS’ executives nor on many of the special’s own creators. They didn’t expect that this very simplicity would turn it into a perennial holiday favorite — nor, presumably, that its soundtrack by the Vince Guaraldi Trio would become one of the most beloved Christmas albums in existence. Now that we’re well into the season when the music from A Charlie Brown Christmas is heard every day in homes, cafés, and shopping malls all around the world, why not get an introduction to Guaraldi, the man and his music, from pop culture video essayist Matt Draper?
“Born in San Francisco in 1928, Guaraldi credited his two uncles with sparking his interest in jazz as a child, with the future musician already learning the piano by age seven,” says Draper. After serving in the Korean War and returning home to study music at San Francisco State University, Guaraldi began to “pursue his love of jazz in local clubs.”
He soon formed his trio, and recording their first albums in the mid-nineteen-fifties, he “expanded his use of Latin jazz and bossa nova.” In 1962 Guaraldi scored his first hit with “Cast Your Fate to the Wind,” a single from an album inspired by Marcel Camus’ Black Orpheus.
Watch below. If you’re a fan of the classic Charlie Brown specials, you’ll love this:
Here’s the song “Skating” which you’ll recognize from the classic special.
This music is unmistakable. It will forever be associated with Charlie Brown and Christmas and there’s nothing wrong with that.

New York Times Provides International Platform to Hamas Barbarians with Op-Ed On Christmas Eve | The Gateway Pundit
On Sunday, The New York Times ran an op-ed by Yahya R. Sarraj, Hamas’ handpicked Gaza City mayor. The decision to provide a worldwide platform prompted outrage for amplifying “Jew hate.”
The op-ed — titled “I Am Gaza City’s Mayor. Our Lives and Culture Are in Rubble” — condemns Israel for “caus[ing] the deaths of more than 20,000 people” and for destroying or damaging “about half the buildings” in the Gaza Strip.
Gaza City’s mayor, Yahya R. Sarraj, describes the loss of its cultural institutions and its infrastructure. Read: https://t.co/CUuh9h3AGp
— New York Times Opinion (@nytopinion) December 24, 2023
Sarraj refers to the “Israeli invasion” of Gaza as a response to the “deadly attack by Hamas” yet fails to acknowledge the depths of depravity by Hamas against innocent civilians.
Sarraj can spare a moment of condolence for animals in the Gaza Zoo that have been killed or starved, but he ignores Hamas’ use of sexual assault and sexual crimes against women as a tool of war.
He can not be bothered to address what Hamas did to innocent babies.
The Times was taken to task on social media for providing Sarraj a platform.
Remember when the @nytimes journalists lost their minds and a chief editor had to resign because they ran an op-ed by a sitting US Senator?
Well now the New York Times is running opinion pieces written by Hamas.
Are their journalists outraged?

The Stigma of Antisemitism: Multiple Students Reject Harvard Early Acceptance Offers | The Gateway Pundit
Early admission to Harvard University was seen by many as the pinnacle of achievement for a high school senior.
But, as Harvard has come under fire for embracing antisemitism on its campus and for its University’s President’s embarrassing testimony in front of the House Education Committee, students seem to be rejecting the Ivy League school unwilling to be associated with the stigma of antisemitism.
Harvard reported a 17% drop in early admissions applications compared to last year.
During her testimony, President Claudine Gay dismissed the suggestion that calls for genocide against the Jews were a violation of the school’s code of conduct.
Gay was directly asked by Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., about calls of “intifada” during pro-Palestinian demonstrations.
Stefanik asked Gay, “You understand that the use of the term intifada in the context of the Israeli-Arab conflict is indeed a call for violent armed resistance against the State of Israel, including violence against civilians and the genocide of Jews… And there have been multiple marches at Harvard with students chanting quote ‘There is only one solution, intifada revolution’ and quote ‘Globalize the intifada.’ Is that correct?”
Gay responded, “I’ve heard that thoughtless, reckless, and hateful language on our campus, yes,” calling it “abhorrent” and “hateful speech.”
When specifically pressed on whether calls for “intifada,” direct support for the genocide of Jewish people, violated Harvard’s code of conduct, Gay weakly replied that it “depends on the context.”
Fox News spoke with a College Admissions consultant who said it is the first time he has seen students reject early admissions offers to Harvard.
“Virtually every student I’ve ever worked with who got into Harvard early pretty much stopped [looking elsewhere],” Christopher Rim, CEO of New York and Miami-based Command Education, said Wednesday on “FOX & Friends First.”
“This is the first time and first application season where I’ve seen a student who got into Harvard early that I’ve worked with for almost three and a half, four years now, starting in ninth grade — we’re seeing them say, ‘You know what? I want to apply to other schools because what if I graduate and this stigma and this reputation of Harvard stays the same?’ That’s their true concern.”
*************
This is the first time this has happened,” he continued. “Normally, my student will get into Harvard or a top-tier school, and then that’ll be it. We’re done. So congratulations. We’ve finished the process, but now we’re seeing students say, ‘You know what? Let me double think this. Let me think about other options.’”
Rim added that reputation remains a chief factor in determining where students wish to go to college, but they are beginning to realize that Ivy League schools are not the only options for a great education, and are turning to institutions like Vanderbilt or Duke instead.
Watch:
Statements from billionaire Bill Ackman and other potential employers promising not to hire Harvard grads may have also spooked applicants.

PS5 tips and tricks: 6 hidden features you need to know
Just got a shiny new PS5? Or maybe you’ve had your PlayStation for a couple of years, but just don’t know how to get the most out of our console.
Either way, you’re in the right place as we’ve created this guide to highlight all of the best hidden features of the PS5.
We’ve made sure to focus on features that are buried in the settings, and so are easily missable. So if you’re keen to find out all the best PS5 tips and tricks, keep on scrolling.
Enable voice commandsThose who love controlling their smart home with the likes of Alexa or Siri will be pleased to know that the PS5 offers similar functionality. By activating its ‘Enable voice commands’ feature, you’ll be able to navigate your console without picking up your controller.
This feature is currently still in beta, so it is somewhat limited. But it still has a lot of useful features, allowing you to open games/apps, control the playback of a movie or even capture gameplay. You simply have to say “Hey PlayStation” and then your desired command. You don’t need to be wearing a headset for this to work either, thanks to the PS5 controller’s integrated microphone.
To activate this feature, go to Settings > Voice Command > Enable Voice Command. You’re even able to tweak the speech speed and volume, as well as how long the PS5 will wait for you to complete your request. This is all completely optional too, so there’s no need to worry about your PS5 listening to you if you’d rather keep this feature deactivated.
Control your PS5 with your TV remoteThe PS5 is more than just a games console – it’s an entertainment hub too thanks to the Blu-Ray disc drive and numerous streaming apps. And when opening the likes of Netflix, locating your PS5 controller can feel like a waste of time and effort.
Fortunately, the PS5 allows you to control the PS5 via your TV remote instead, which makes the process a lot easier, and prevents the possibility of you needlessly draining the DualSense’s battery.
In order to activate this feature, simply go to Settings > System > Enable HDMI Device Link. Once completed, you’ll be able to navigate the PS5 with your TV remote. You also get the option for your PS5 to automatically enter rest mode when turning off the TV.
Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)Continue playing on your PS5 via your mobile or PCThe recent launch of the PlayStation Portal allows fans to keep playing on their PS5, even when someone else has commandeered the TV. But what if we told you that your smartphone and PC are capable of doing that exact same job?
You can download the official Remote Play app for PC with this link, while there are also smartphone apps available via both the Android Play Store and iPhone App Store. Once completed, turn on your PS5 and go to Settings > System > Remote Play, and then make sure Enable Remote Play is activated. Then click on Link Device, and follow the instructions on your PC/smartphone to complete the connection.
Once this has been completed, your device should be able to remember the connection, allowing you to start playing on the PS5 remotely whenever you fancy. Of course, both your PS5 and mobile device will need a strong Wi-Fi connection for a satisfactory experience. It’s also worth remembering that your mobile device is just mirroring your PS5, so you’re out of luck if someone else is already using the console.
Activate ZoomThe PS5 has a lot of fantastic accessibility features, but one of our favourites is the capability to zoom into the on-screen picture. This can be useful for those with a visual impairment, or even for someone who’s simply struggling to read small subtitles.
You can activate this great accessibility feature by simply going to Settings > Accessibility > Display and Sound > Zoom. Once activated, you’ll be able to zoom into any game screen by pressing the PlayStation and Square buttons simultaneously. You can even pan around the zoomed screen with the analogue stick.
If zooming doesn’t appeal to you, there’s also the option to increase default text size, or even activate a Screen Reader which will read on-screen text out loud.

Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)Pick default performance mode, difficulty and subtitle settings One of the most tedious aspects of starting a new game is tweaking all of your desired settings, from the difficulty level to whether you want on-screen subtitles. The PS5 can remove this pain point by setting your preferred game presets, so every future game will automatically know your favoured settings.
The PS5 allows you to set your preferred difficulty level, whether you prefer Performance Mode or Resolution Mode, play in third– or first-perspective (where both are supported) and whether subtitles should be displayed or not.
You’ll still be able to tweak these settings for each game if you want to make an exception, but logging your preferred settings should still save you some time everytime you load up a new game.
In order to access this feature, go to Settings > Accessories > Controller (General) > Game Presets. Then you’ll be able to assign your preferred presets for every supported game.
Check how many hours you’ve spent with each gameOne of my favourite features of the PS5 is being able to see how many hours you’ve spent playing each game. This may not improve your experience with the console, but it’s interesting to see which games you’ve spent the most time with.
To do this, click on your profile picture, and go to Profile > Games and then check out all of your games listed below. If you then go to Friends > select one of your buddies > Games, then you’ll be able to compare the times you’ve both spent on each game.
This may come in handy if one of your pals is bragging about being better at the likes of Fortnite or Call of Duty, as then you can prove they’ve spent twice as much time honing their skills.

Missouri School Board Removes Black History Classes After Vote On Anti Racism Resolution | The Gateway Pundit
Despite previously voting to rescind an anti-discrimination resolution, a Missouri school board voted 5-2 to eliminate elective Black history and literature classes.
The seven-member Francis Howell School Board voted 5-2 Thursday night to stop offering Black History and Black Literature courses, which had been offered at the district’s three high schools since 2021, KSDK reported. All seven members of the board are white.
“Our students really wanted these electives,” Harry Harris, whose son is a student in the district, said during the board meeting. “Our families really wanted them and our teachers really wanted them. It’s important. It’s been great.”
In July, the conservative-led board revoked an anti-racism resolution that had been passed in 2020 following the police killing of George Floyd.
This resolution, which vowed to fight racism, discrimination, and senseless violence against people no matter their race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability, has been removed from school buildings.
Both the resolution and the classes were targeted by five new members of the board who have all received the backing of the conservative political action committee Francis Howell Families, according to The Associated Press.
On its website, the Francis Howell Families PAC lists issues it’s concerned about, including “critical race theory” and “obscene books in your child’s library.”
During the board vote, members of the community, including resident Tom Ferri, spoke up to express their disagreement with the board’s decision.
“Tapping into a diverse talent pipeline would be a great way to slow attrition, but what diverse staff wants to work in a district waging culture wars?” Ferri asked.
Protests were held outside the board meeting after the decision was made to drop the courses.

In the modern era of Doctor Who (2005 onwards), there has been a special episode broadcast on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day in the UK almost every year.
This year is no different, with a brand new special called The Church of Ruby Road due to be broadcast on December 25.
Save £300 on Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED, Now Only £699.99
The well-liked Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED is now just £699.99, which is a £300 (or 30%) saving on the 4K HDR set. It’s going to be awesome for your Christmas TV schedule.
This will be the first full length episode to feature the latest (and 15th) actor to carry the Lime Lord’s long legacy. Ncuti Gatwa (Barbie, Sex Education) will a be joined by a newly-introduced companion Ruby Sunday (played by former Corrie star Millie Gibson).
This Christmas special will set the stage for the pair’s run in the next proper season of Doctor Who, set to air in 2024. The Christmas special will see a new villain introduced too in the shape of the mean-looking Goblin King. Don’t worry, it will be Christmassy, still.
“You always have to be aware that the new audience is coming in, so you kind of start from scratch and I personally think it should be as Christmassy as possible,” said writer Russell T. Davies in a recent Q&A. “We have snow, we’ve got a church… this one’s about a fable, you know, the foundling on the church doorstep in the snow.
The special, which follows the recently-aired 60th anniversary episodes, will be a reboot of sorts for the long-running sci-fi series. You can see a trailer for The Church of Ruby Road below.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared a Christmas message urging the condemnation of Hamas and calling on the Christian community to support Israel in its battle against terrorism.
He shared his message on X, saying, “To our Christian friends around the world, Merry Christmas.”
“Christmas is supposed to be a time of goodwill to all men and peace on Earth.”
“Well, we don’t have peace on Earth, not in our part anyway, and we certainly don’t see the goodwill to all men.”
“We’re facing monsters, monsters who murdered children in front of their parents and parents in front of their children, who raped and beheaded women, who burned babies alive, who took babies, hostages.”
“This is a battle, not only of Israel against these barbarians but of civilization against barbarism.”
“And I know in this we have your support. And I want to thank you for your support. I want to thank you for your prayers.”
“And I want to assure you, as we stand together, we will also prevail.”

A CHRISTMAS EVE WISH: Good, Faithful Americans Must Demand a Change of Venue for January 6 Defendants | The Gateway Pundit
Change of Venue for January 6th Defendants Must Be Granted-
Fifty Years of Case Law Destroyed by Data Science & Psychology
Treniss Evans and Condemned USA are, once again, leading the charge for Justice with a brilliant approach to analyzing the problem, leaving no doubt under any objective review that DC is utterly incapable of seating an unbiased jury. Ironically appropriate – Evans uses left-leaning institutional teachings and implemented government policies to prove his theory. The DOJ is now in the proverbial rock and hard place fighting the accepted science you are told to shut up and accept.
Before Evans’s work to apply the data science frontier, woefully sad polls representing 1,200 people were used in the motions to change venue. Compared to over 250,000,000 United States Citizens’ collective data history used to make up the data dumped on the DOJ in the Fischer filing. Merry Christmas to the January 6th community as they open and read this unique and fact-filled motion on change of venue from attorney George Pallas.
The right to a fair trial before a jury of peers is a crucial component of Constitutional due process rights in America. While most of America recognizes January 6th defendants cannot find such a thing in the District of Columbia, no one has been able to definitively prove it in court to secure a change of venue. Evans refused to let this go, delivered on his promise to prove the theory, and dismantled over fifty years of legal precedent. Using both the data and the psychological sciences with current and accepted data to prove his point. Evans excitedly pointed to the team of “patriots” and assured us this was no lone-wolf effort to carry his years-old effort over the finish line.
In preparation for a December 18th filing in the case of A.J. Fischer, defendant Fischer, and Evans worked together with Brad Raksalas of Watch Post Analytics and Defense Attorney George Pallas to lay out the egregious consequences of implicit bias in DC and how it is clearly identified through analysis of Google Trends Research. Evans stated the filing represents “an exacting new frontier of irrefutable legal proof akin to fingerprinting and DNA evidence.”
** READ the full argument and review the associated data HERE **
While the DC District Court is typically to rubber stamp denials on change of venue Fischer’s argument used the exact same data source introduced as evidence in the civil case brought against Rudy Giuliani by Ruby Freeman and admitted by Judge Beryl Howell -Ironically Howell was the Chief Judge of D.C., who created the standards for Jan 6th cases. Page two of Fischer’s 31-page motion states, “The issue of venue change should be addressed considering this data. To not do so would be to ignore the advances of technology and its usefulness in adjudicating future court cases.” Fischer individually uncovered some of the most impactful evidence through his dedication to proving the team’s theory.
What the data shows is a horrendously biased media operation to solidify the insurrection narrative in the hearts and minds of an already subconsciously biased DC jury pool. The uncomfortable fact the DC Court must consider is that many in the District are now proven to be incapable of setting aside political views and ingrained prejudicial perceptions to provide January 6th defendants with the fair trial they deserve — a fair trial guaranteed by the supreme law of the land.
As stated in the December 18th filing by A.J. Fischer, the collaborative work initiated by Condemned USA more than a year ago establishes four indisputable facts:
1) The saturation of J6 coverage by media outlets in DC dwarfs that of any other District in the United States.
2) Residents of DC consume more J6 media stories than any other federal district in the United States.
3) Implicit/inherent bias in DC is more pronounced on this issue due to the disproportionate exposure and consumption of media concerning the events of January 6.”
4) Jurors can in no way be instructed to disregard such bias as it is proven that “implicit bias” is driven by the subconscious mind
The evidence is clear Fischer should successfully move his trial to the Middle District of Florida, signaling a positive turning point for hundreds of January 6th defendants nationwide. If President Trump’s appeal for immunity is denied and Jack Smith’s prosecution moves forward in DC District Court, a change of venue could be the only real chance for a full acquittal. The time to support innovation and “Hold the line” with great patriots who refuse to fail is now! Join these men in the battle for America in the courts of D.C. by supporting your great patriots below!
