Loving Riley by Liz Durano #NewRelease #NewAdult #StuartReardon

by Liz Durano Genre: NA Contemporary RomanceCover Model: Stuart ReardonPhotographer: Franggy YanezCover Designer: Cover Couture | Book Covers & Designs

Some secrets can't stay hidden forever...
To his fans, Ashe Hunter is the perfect man, the classically trained British actor taking Hollywood and Broadway by storm. To his American girlfriend, Riley Eames, he is a man in love and he'll do anything to keep her safe from the prying eyes of paparazzi suddenly digging into her life.
But to someone from his past, Ashe is her ticket to Hollywood fame and she'll do anything to get it even if it means tearing down the image he's built for himself ever since he left her.

“What did she mean when she said I was so vanilla?” asked Riley.
Ashe had known this was coming, that Riley would ask questions. Well, why shouldn't he just answer her truthfully?
“It has nothing to do with your hair, petal,” he said. “Unfortunately, Catriona Marks is not known for her subtlety.”
“What does it mean, then, ‘She's so vanilla’?” Riley asked, her voice mimicking Catriona's words as she pulled her hand away and crossed her arms in front of her chest.
“Catriona's tastes are what might be called ‘alternative’,” explained Ashe. “In some circles, she's better known as ‘Mistress Cat’.”
“Like a Dominatrix? How would you know that?” Riley paused, raising her hand. “No, don't answer that, Ashe. I’m not sure I want to know.”
For a few moments, she didn't speak. He watched her bring her hand to her mouth, her expression distraught as if a vision of Ashe and Catriona together had come to her mind unbidden. Then she turned her face toward the window, watching the snow outside as the car made its way through the streets.
"You used to date her, didn't you?"
"Yes," he replied.
“It would have been better if you'd just said she's your ex-girlfriend,” Riley said. “She is, isn’t she? Is she the actress who discovered you?”
“Yes, she is.”
They spent the rest of the ride in silence. Ashe had much to say, but this was not the ideal place to tell Riley the things he wanted her to know about his past and the people who belonged there.

Excerpt:
“People have been mentioning Artemis,” Calypso said. “You wouldn’t have heard anything?” They knew, Amy thought. Somehow they knew. “No, Artemis isn’t here anymore. At least from what I heard.”
“Damn shame, too,” complained one of the customers in the shop. “Not the Artemis that is playing with the lights and stuff. But the Artemis who liked to help people with their problems.”
“Yeah, I think if someone is behind it, it’s someone pretending to be Artemis, or trying to shift the blame on her,” said another customer. “She may have done some things, but she’d never deliberately set out to get people hurt.”
Amy smiled at the person that made the comment. “I’ve been here all day. But it’s more than the traffic lights. Didn’t I hear that the other day the Financial District was shut down because the money showed at zero?”
“That is something that Artemis had fun with,” Dark Master commented. “Or had in the past.”
“I’m sure that whatever has been happening in Quail City has nothing to do with Artemis,” Amy replied.
“Hope for Artemis’ sake it’s true,” Calypso said. “Williams is ranting and raving in Commissioner James’ office asking for her to be arrested.”
Just bet he is, thought Amy. “Is there anything else I can get you?” Amy asked them. She saw that it was almost six and the last bus going towards her apartment would be there any minute.
“You in our bed,” Calypso said in her ear. “Your blue hair will look glorious on our pillows.” Then out loud stated, “That’s all for now.”

Bridget leaned toward me and nodded in that direction. “He’s been sitting by himself for a while. A dance with that fine man could take your mind off just about anything.”
Ophelia winked. “You should give him a try.”
“You think?” We laughed until we about peed our pants. I noticed he was watching us with a grin that spread across his sexy face. “Oh shit. I think he heard us.”
“Good. You deserve a little fun after the week you’ve had,” Bridget insisted.
“Well, I’ve seen my share of gorgeous men, but that guy is smok’n hot.” I looked heavenward and giggled.
“Oh boy, is he ever,” Bridget and Ophelia said in unison and fanned their faces.
“I’m going to give him my, ‘you can buy me a drink’ look and see what he does.”
All of a sudden Bridget rolled her eyes toward the bar. “Holy moly, he’s coming this way. That worked fast. I should try that maneuver,” Bridget whispered.
“Me too.” Ophelia got out a pen and small notepad from her purse and wrote down what I had done and then tucked her notes into her purse.
Bridget and I stared at her. Her face turned crimson.
“We always come up with great ideas over margaritas, but I can never remember what they are in the morning. From now on, I’m writing them down. Hopefully they’ll make sense in the morning.”

They drove to Woody’s Burgers in silence, which was how he knew there was probably more to this than a shitty visit with her mother. He also knew she wasn’t going to tell him what was really going on. At least not yet. He came on strong, but they had a solid friendship that felt more like a relationship and went beyond his desire to finally taste her luscious mouth. He cared about her, and one way or another, he’d figure out a way to get her to talk. He had to, because knowing she was hurting and not being able to fix it made him want to tear someone’s head off.
He parked the truck and reached across the seat, giving her hand a comforting squeeze. “Hey.” He waited until she met his gaze. “Whatever’s going on, you know you can talk to me.”
Her eyes fell to their hands, and a hint of a smile lifted her lips. “Yeah, I know. Thanks.”
Woody’s was a low-key burger joint with brick walls that had been painted white and bright green tables and benches. Overgrown ferns and decorative iron lights hung from metal rods along the ceiling. The floor was a mismatched patchwork of wooden planks. It didn’t look like much, but they had the best burgers and fries in Peaceful Harbor, and tonight Bear had the prettiest girl in the harbor on his arm, too. It was a good night, despite the cloud hanging over Crystal’s head. He’d shelter her from whatever storm came her way.
He slid into the booth beside her.
“There are two benches for a reason,” she pointed out.
“Oh, right.” He kicked his feet up on the bench across from them, the tips of his black leather boots visible over the edge of the table.
She laughed.
“Your turn.” He tapped her thigh, leaving his hand there as she lifted her feet beside his.
She pushed his hand from her thigh without a word, and he stretched his arm across the back of the bench.
“Are you always like this?” She picked up the menu and looked it over.
“You’ve known me for a long time. You tell me.”
“I know how you are with me. I mean with other girls. I’ve never been out with you, like on a date.”
He began kneading the tension from her shoulder. “Then maybe it’s time to remedy that.”
The waitress interrupted before she could respond, and they ordered burgers and fries, and Crystal ordered a milk shake. Chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry mixed, please. She was unique in everything she did, and he loved that about her. Their food came quickly, and they made small talk about getting ready for Tru and Gemma’s wedding.
When he couldn’t stand the edge in her voice any longer, he said, “Tell me about your mom.”
She shrugged. “Nothing to tell. We’re not very close.”
“Why was tonight so rough?” He picked up a fry and dunked it in her shake as she lifted her burger to her mouth.
“Um…?” She lowered her burger to the plate. “What are you doing?”
“Dunking my fry in your shake.” He popped it in his mouth. “Haven’t we done this before?”
“No.”
“We’ve known each other for almost a year and we’ve never had fries and shakes? That’s not true and you know it.”
“You’ve never dunked your fry in my shake,” she clarified.
He brushed his shoulder against hers. “Whose fault is that? I would love to bury my fry in your luscious milk shake.”
She laughed. “Not happening.” She took a big bite of her burger, her cheeks puffing out like a chipmunk, clearly trying to avoid talking about that.
He finished his burger and put his arm around her again, dipping another fry in her shake. He held it up for her, and she swatted his hand away, pointing to her full mouth. Her eyes were wide, but smiling, which he totally dug.
“Okay, I’ll tell you what. Tell me why tonight was so rough, and I’ll leave your shake alone.”
She shook her head, and he dunked another fry. She whimpered, trying to swallow her burger as quickly as she could.
“My girl doesn’t swallow well. Noted.”
She laughed/snorted and choked on her burger. He patted her on the back, both of them laughing.
“I’ll help you with that whole swallowing thing,” he offered, which made her laugh harder, causing her to snort again.
She tried to catch her breath, and he dunked another fry.
“Hey!”
“Just try one. You’ll like it. I promise.”
She eyed the fry as if it were poison.
“One bite.” He dragged the fry along her lower lip. Leaning closer, he said, “You’d better lick that off before I do.”
Her eyes narrowed, and her tongue swept over her lower lip.
“Christ Almighty,” he grumbled.
She laughed. “That’s pretty good. Salty and sweet.”
“Stick with me, baby. I’ll make sure you get your fill of salty and sweet.”

JUNGLE LOVE - It only gets sweeter!

JUNGLE LOVEJungle Island Series, book threeBy Sheri Fredricks

A quickie-read novellette
Return to the uninhabited world on Jungle Island…
Life should be sweet, but for Tarzan things have gone sour. No matter how hard he tries, when something goes wrong it’s always his fault—like the challenger who wants the Alpha Female position. And Jane isn’t happy about it.
Jane survived a pirate attack and being shipwrecked on a jungle island. Life is tough in the wilds, but how does one survive heartache and homesickness—or the suspicions the mind conjures up. Courage is made, and relationships strengthened, when two people share a sweet Jungle Love.

Lord of the Jungle - book one
Forever My Jane - book two

Protectiveness swelled in him like the creek after the rain. The feeling grew, filled his chest, and spilled over until a river flowed. Tarzan was not attracted to the gorilla offering herself in the nearby tree, and he needed to be sure she knew as well.
He stroked his weakened male part as he thought his problem over.
Jane watched his hand with an interested eye.
Perhaps there was another way for Coral to understand. He looked at his mate’s rosy, upturned face. “Turn around.”
“Yes!” Spinning on her knees, Jane wiggled her rounded ass and threw a huge smile over her shoulder. “Like this?”
Lust filled-out his mating tool until it jutted stiff and hard. He lowered onto one knee, bringing him directly behind his mate. Gently squeezing the back of Jane’s neck with one hand, he directed her cheek to rest on the sweet-smelling moss floor of the nest. His other hand raised her hips and ass high, to offer herself to him, Lord of the Jungle.
Jane deepened the flex of her back and displayed a stunning view. “Like what you see?”
“Ooh-ooh.” Tarzan swept his hands over the ripe perfection of her rounded butt. His finger traced the little dots she got from the sun and the scar from when she fell. “Tarzan like.”
From the corner of his eye, he saw Coral had stopped chewing leaves and sat still, watching them. Good. Mating in front of the annoying gorilla would, as Jane once said, “Kill two birds and eat them, too.”
Slowly, he leaned forward and ran a finger over her glistening pink sex. It clenched in response, and his own sex pulsed with need. Dew gathered along the swollen lips and the air filled with the flowers of her scent.
“Touch me again,” she whimpered.
“Tarzan touch.” Resting his hand where he could thumb the pucker of her ass, he leaned lower, stuck out his tongue and licked the moisture from her mating slit.
“Ooh,” she groaned. “Yeah, I need that.”
Long strokes, up and down, her wild taste flowed over his chin and reminded him of the beach; a pleasant blend of warmth, salt, and sweet fruit. He licked her hard little nub, the one that made Jane cry out and arch her back, like how she was doing at the moment. Each lightly furred petal thoroughly lapped, bitten and sucked, until she widened the spread of her legs.
“Come on, Tarzan.” Her whine pulled at him with her hard breaths. He hated the torture he had to put her through. She tilted her hips and thrust back. “I’m ready.”
He returned to his kneeling position behind her, but kept his fingers stroking in and out. Her moans grew louder.
To his right, Coral straightened, sitting taller to see over the rim of his sleeping nest. Totally focused on them, she didn’t even notice when Chee-tah climbed down a branch to land beside her.
No one, not even a friend from his younger days, could ever push Tarzan’s mate from her position as his alpha female. To permit such a thing would be to force Jane away.
And he would never allow that to happen.
High in the canopy on their platform of branches and leaves, scraps of moss hung from the twigs in sheets of torn webs and swayed in the breeze. Tarzan notched his mating tool to Jane’s slit. Then, turning to stare directly into Coral’s eyes, rebuking the ape to her place, he plunged into his mate’s welcome heat.
Coral’s cricket-brown eyes bugged out. Her lips pulled back. She opened her mouth wide and released a deafening roar.
The little white-faced monkey grabbed the banana out of the gorilla’s hand and swung his getaway on the nearest vine.
The branch Coral stood on bounced with her outrage, raining loose leaves and debris onto birds that squawked below.
“What the hell is all that noise?” Jane raised her head at the commotion.
Tarzan gripped the back of her neck and urged her cheek to rest on the nest floor once more. Holding the majority of his weight on the bent knee, his other hand reassured Jane with a squeeze of her hip. “Chee-tah take Coral’s banana.”
“Well, give her another one. She’s throwing a fit.”
In the dominant male position Tarzan took his female from behind, thrusting in and out firmly, while he held Coral’s hard glare.
The ape wanted more than his banana, but that fruit was only for Jane.

Rana: Teenage Queen #YANovel by Liza O'Connor

The Reading of the Heart
The most useful of all of Rana’s powers is the ‘reading of the heart’. If she can safely place her hand over a person’s heart, she can discover what they truly feel, rather than what they tell her. This is how she knew her father had killed her mother to prevent King Schnell from taking her as his wife. This is how she knew which ministers wished her dead, even when they assured her they would support her. This is how she determined which men in her police were members of the black mafia. And most wonderfully, this is how she discovered that Prince Seren truly loved her.

BLURB
Rana is only sixteen when she becomes queen. Her first challenge is to quell an internal coup while a massive army storms the gates of her castle. Her enemies believe her to be a child, but she has powers they’ve never suspected. She also has great dreams for her people, and she will do whatever is necessary to make them happen, even marrying a prince she does not want.
EXCERPT
Rana had not realized how frustrating and difficult finding truly good workers was until she tried to do it without using her ability to read the heart.
She thought the first candidate interviewed for Public Works quite excellent until they walked him to the door and she placed her hand over his heart.
He only wanted the position to make himself rich as his predecessor.
Once he left, Seren closed the door and smiled. “I believe we have found a very good minister.”
She sighed heavily.
“You don’t agree?”
She shook her head.
“What did I miss?” he asked. She could hear the disappointment in his voice. He was already losing faith in himself.
She led him to the table and sat down beside him. “Seren, I have to tell you something.”
Time slowed.
“You cannot tell him you’re a fairy,” Ditter warned.
“I have to tell him something.”
“He hates witches, as well.”
She sighed. “Will you just trust me?”
Ditter stared at her a long moment and then returned time to its normal speed.
“Go ahead,” Seren stated, looking as if he stood before a firing squad.
“God has given me a gift. It’s why I knew which ministers to remove, which to keep, and which to hire as replacements.”
“What is it?”
“If I place my hand upon a heart, I can tell what the person feels. The candidate who just left did everything right, said just what we wanted to hear, but when I touched his heart, I discovered he wanted the job to make himself rich like the one before him.”
Seren’s eyes narrowed. Then he grabbed her hand and placed it upon his heart. “What am I feeling right now?”
“Doubt…You don’t believe I have a gift…You think I’ve changed my mind and want to break the engagement and return to Stronghold…shock that maybe I do have a gift…”
She then pulled her hand away from him and stood up from a shock of her own. “You still love me!”
He remained seated so they were nearly the same height. “With all my heart. And I am now convinced you do have a gift. My only concern is what will you do with your newfound knowledge? Before you run in fear, I should remind you that I still need a new minister.”
She continued to stare at him, trying to make sense of this new information.
His hands shook and he met her gaze. “I wish I had your gift, because I need to know what you are thinking right now.”
Rana threw her arms about his neck. “I love you. I love the man you’ve been this week.”
His arms tentatively, then determinedly wrapped around her small body. “Really?”
“Really, really, really!”
“Then let’s find our ministers so we can get onto more romantic issues.”

Her Secret Ranger by Donna Michaels Yee-Haw! #Contemporary #Romantic #Comedy

by Donna Michaels Publisher: Entangled Lovestruck
Genre: Contemporary Romantic Comedy

Kissing the sexy soldier was a dare she couldn’t resist…
By-the-book event planner Beth Brannigan’s best friend dared her to kiss a cowboy. She should have said no. Instead, she said please…again and again. If her brother finds out she’s dating—okay, kissing—okay, sleeping with—one of his military buddies, he’ll kill her. Assuming he doesn’t kill his friend first.
Former Army Ranger Brick Mitchum isn’t a relationship kind of guy. But then he meets Beth and starts to wonder if maybe it’s time he settled down. She’s mysterious. Unpredictable. Curvy in every way he needs… And hiding something. He’s just got to figure out what.

The best damn fantasy Brick Mitchum ever had hit him in the middle of the Braxton fair, of all places…and he was in no hurry for it to end. The gorgeous, green-eyed woman from two weekends ago miraculously appeared out of nowhere and laid a lip-lock on him that sent all the blood storming straight to his crotch.
She had to be a figment of his imagination. How else could he explain how they were both back in Braxton today and happened to bump into each other at the fair in a town of over forty-thousand people? The odds of them being there at the same exact time was not only impossible, it was improbable. It sure as hell wasn’t a coincidence. He didn’t believe in them.
And yet, here she was.
The sweet little thing nibbled and tasted and let out a breathy sigh of pleasure that had him harder than the sledgehammer used in the strongman game down the fairway. Part innocence and part hot-as-hell in a lacey peach sundress, Beth was already halfway to ringing his bell. Doing his best to keep cool and let her run the show, he tried to concentrate on the fact Cord was waiting for him at the auction, but then she went and brushed his bottom lip with her tongue.
During the eleven years he was in the Army—the last eight as a Ranger—Brick had planned and carried out enough missions to know that if you wanted something to happen, you made it happen. And, hell yeah, he was making this happen.
With a low growl, he shoved his hands in her soft caramel-colored waves and held her head while he took over the kiss. Deep, long passes with his tongue brought her essence to him and a soft whimper to her throat. He loved how she clung to his shoulders, practically climbing his body in a show of need that rivaled his own. Brick knew from their hot weekend they had a killer chemistry, but the way this simple kiss morphed out of control in the space of a heartbeat shocked the hell out of him.
All too soon she drew back, staring up at him with heat smoldering in those incredible eyes he hadn’t been able to get out of his head the past two weeks. He’d tried. Oh, he tried. After all, they’d had a fun, no-strings-attached fling. Nothing more. Hell, they hadn’t even exchanged last names. No need. They’d kept it light. Fun. Hot. He might have broken his one-date rule with her, but he wasn’t sticking around Texas. Once the ranch was in the clear and the veterans’ barracks were completed, he was Vegas bound to work in his former commander’s security firm.
Didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy the moment at hand, though.
“Well, hello to you, too.” He grinned as his hands made themselves at home at her waist. They certainly knew every inch of her delectable body. And itched for a reunion. “I’m not complaining, mind you, but what was that for?”
Color increased in her cheeks. “It was a dare.”
A dare?
He raised a brow. The woman was full of surprises. “Someone dared you to kiss me?”
“Sort of. I was supposed to kiss the next cowboy to walk through the gate. I’m just grateful it was you.”
Well, hell. “You were willing to kiss a stranger?”
“No.” She released him completely and stepped back, a flicker of unease clouding her gaze. “I refused until you strode in and I saw an opportunity to make this work to my advantage.”

My Highlander Husband by Nancy Pennick #HistoricalRomance Tour Price 99-Cents!

by Nancy Pennick Genre: Historical Romance

Lady Juliet Kingston did not expect to find love in the Scottish Highlands. Sent by the king to marry a laird’s son, she had no expectations until she met the strong and stubborn Ross MacLaren. He won her heart, erasing her feelings for the man she left behind. Her happiness is short-lived as the threat of war becomes real, and she is reclaimed by her former love.

EXCERPT #1
“In two days, we will be wed.” He took her hand. “Do ye think ye may come to love me?”
Love? No one had ever spoken so directly to her. “Um.” She sank her teeth into her bottom lip. “I just met you.”
“Aye, I ken.” He placed his hand around the back of her neck. “And so, I ask permission to kiss ye.”
“Kiss me?” Juliet’s mouth went dry. She wished she still had the glass of sweet wine in her hand. You are going to marry him. You have kissed John. You know what it is like. “Yes, you may.”
He leaned in closer. The other hand went around her waist, bringing her to him. She felt his breath on her cheek, and the scent of ale was pleasant. His lips touched her face so lightly she jumped.
“I willna hurt ye,” he whispered.
Juliet’s heart fluttered as she looked into his eyes. Green pools of summer, ones she could dive into and never come out. She nodded and placed her hand on his chest, feeling the hard muscle beneath the coat. She opened her mouth slightly to tell him she was all right, but instead found his lips on hers.
Ross tightened his grip on her, pulling her so close she fought for breath, yet she did not want him to stop. His lips felt soft against hers as he pushed her mouth open wider. She felt the tip of his tongue on hers. John had never kissed her like that. John!
Juliet pulled back, head spinning. Ross did not let go, still holding her close. He rested his chin on the top of her head, nuzzling her hair. “Ye taste of summer and honey.”
“I think you should give credit to the wine.” Juliet tried to laugh but could only think of the kiss. She wanted another.
“I will take ye to yer room.” Ross offered his arm. “Because if I dinna, we may have to marry tonight.”
EXCERPT #2
“I feel so guilty, Eva.” Juliet looked up with tears in her eyes. “I am betraying him and our love.”
“No, you are not. John is in England. You are here, betrothed to another. I understand you love John, but you must forget him.” Eva put the finishing touches on Juliet’s hair for the wedding ceremony.
“No, you do not understand,” Juliet wailed. “I feel guilty that I could betray him so easily. I think I could fall in love with Ross. If that is true, was I ever really in love with John?” She covered her face. “I am a horrible, shallow person.”
Eva pulled Juliet’s hands away from her face. “You are kind and loving, Juliet. You would not hurt a flea.” She patted the hand she held. “Maybe Ross was meant to be. He is quite handsome if I may say so.”
“It is not just his looks. He is kind and gentle. He has made sure I have not been alone for the last two days. He spent most of that time with me, showing me the land, introducing me to the people and talking about his life.”
“That is an extraordinary man.” Eva pulled the wedding dress from the wardrobe. “You are lucky.”
“And John? What do I do about him?”
“Be grateful for the time you spent with him. He is part of your past. Ross is your future.”

Welcome to the fourth book in the Celebration Township Series, Rainbows to Riches. This series consists of thirteen novel and novellas that take place over the course of a year, beginning with Christmas. During that year, twelve more stories will unfold in the Township of Celebration, Pennsylvania, and each release will coincide with an upcoming holiday.

The announcer started the bidding at one hundred, and Shirley raised her hand. She better bid on me, she’s the one that talked me into being here. I knew that if she won, she wouldn’t even want a date, she’d only want a free dinner at the tavern for her and Fred Maxim. Of course, she’d insist that I eat with them, and I liked that idea. No fuss.
Another woman raised her hand and bid two hundred, and I squinted into the audience to see who it was. She was seated in the shadows on the other side of the bright lights, and I couldn’t make her out. Shirley bid three hundred and I figured that would be the end of it, but then the woman I couldn’t see stood and shouted loudly, “I’ll take him for a thousand.”
The room went dead silent, and I was honestly waiting for her to say, Oh, I’m sorry, I take back my bid, but the announcer called out that I was sold for one thousand dollars. I was speechless and stared into the crowd to see the crazy woman jumping up and down and screaming her excitement at having won.
Did the woman think she was bidding on someone else? She did know I was the prize, didn’t she? I started to descend the stairs and by the time I reached the bottom, this whirlwind of bright red hair threw itself at me and wrapped strong arms around my neck.
What the hell? Who was this woman? I didn’t know any ladies with hair this bright. I turned to ask for help from the guys on the stage and found them all laughing.
The woman finally unwrapped herself from me and landed on her feet in front of me. She was a pipsqueak of a woman, maybe five foot, if that.
“You have no idea how excited I am! I can’t believe I won a date with you!” She tugged me back towards her table while some of the townspeople laughed and whispered amongst themselves. “I have wanted to meet you for so long, and I can’t believe I won you!” She bounced a bit more as she reached her seat, and I gaped at her. “I can’t wait to go out with you. It’s going to be so much fun.”
“Wait,” I held up my hands to stop her prattling long enough for me to ask her a question: “Who are you?”
