Testing. Testing.

Dear Blog friends,

I am having issues with my blog. Upon first posting, it returns a 404 error to anyone following the link to the post. The 404 goes away if I update the post once or twice. I have tried the easy attempts to fix, per what I found on the Internet with no luck.

The only way I can discover the problem (assumed to be a plugin by tech support) is to turn off all of my plugins and then slowly turn them on again, one by one, each time doing a test post. While I can turn off my sharing...

movie review: gravity

gravity movieThis afternoon, Jerry and I went to see the Sandra Bullock and George Clooney 3D movie, Gravity. Whew! Many hours later, I’m still feeling a little wobbly, as if I’d been the one flying around in and spinning through space.

George Clooney may have equal billing on the billboards and in the TV ads, but trust me, this is Sandra Bullock’s movie. George is on screen about 30 of the 90 minutes. Sandra is there for every single heart-stopping moment, and she is fabulous. Riveting. I see another Osca...

author web sites

home pageEarly this week in an email group I’m on with other authors, someone posted a link to an article, asking if an author web site is necessary in this age of social media. Maybe the article even asked if it was worth the expense, although that question may have come up during the discussion that followed.

For me, the answer is a simple one. Yes, it is a necessary thing. Social media sites may come and go. Facebook and Twitter and Pinterest are all hot items now, but who knows where they will be i...

christian fiction wednesday 10-02-13

After years of writing novels, I’ve been privileged to meet many authors of Christian fiction, and I love to help readers find their work. Although I usually haven’t read the books I share in my Christian Fiction Wednesday posts (too many books, too little time), I like to feature their books to help readers find them. Check out these books and maybe you’ll discover another favorite author or two.

reader poll: how many books?

I usually have several books going at once (fiction and non-fiction), but I’m not a super fast reader. I’ve been made very aware of that fact when I see how many books a lot of folks on Goodreads consume in a month or a year.

Would you mind answering my poll?

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

Are you new to my web site or my books? I hope you'll take a moment to subscribe to my e-newsletterso you'll always be up-to-date on...

happy anniversary, darling!

Wedding

Before the day is gone, just have to post a happy anniversary wish to my dear hubby.

I love you, Jerry.
This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

Today, I spoiled myself with a massage which I needed really badly after an intense month at the computer. Another intense month is before me, so I’ve already got my next massage appointment scheduled.

I have tried to get through the things that have piled up as I’ve written and revised and edited and proofed, but I haven’t made nearly...

some books are harder to write than others

The Heart's PursuitLet me repeat that title for emphasis:

Some books are harder to write than others.

Last night, I finished the revisions on my May 2014 release,The Heart’s Pursuit. Off it went for the next round of editing. Those should arrive back in my mailbox in early to mid October. I will be anxiously awaiting the editor’s opinion of how the book has changed since the last time she saw it.

This particular novel has a rather checkered past. Life has interrupted it. Other books have delayed it. A change of ed...
