The fight continues on Weekend Writing Warriors #8sunday

Welcome to another weekend of Weekend Writing Warriors. My 8 sentence snippet this week is from my first release from my NA contemporary romance – Dancing in Circles- Book 1 of Circles Trilogy.
Scene Set -Robert is caught in a fight with Westland classmate Stephan and two football players who have grabbed hold of him.

Stephen swung. His fist caught Robert on the jaw line. Stephan threw a couple of punches at Robert's face and stomach before Robert untangled himself from his captors. The two fighters stood facing each other, daring the other to move. Stephan arrogantly confident. Robert wary the crowd was more opposed to him than curious. Stephan swung again.

Blurb – One born into privilege and a charmed life surrounded by love and family. The other born to a life of violence on the streets as the solemn gang leader of the notorious Shoresmen. A young, idealistic co-ed, Julie, meets a jaded, cold gang member, Robert, and cracks his icy shell, allowing the warmth of her love to awaken his soul.

What people are saying about Dancing in Circles5 stars  - Julie I liked, but Robert, loved that guy. He's thrown some insurmountable circumstances to overcome, but he manages a way around it all quite nicely. While he may be the 'bad boy', he still has a heart of gold. The author did a nice job expressing that while we may not all travel the same paths in life, we still are essentially the same people and deserve happiness alike.
5 Stars - I loved the cover, as well as the story. I liked the school setting, and the description in the beginning of Julie and her friends. Julie is the dreamer, searching for a happy ending. I also liked Robert, who is a "bad boy" gang leader. "from the wrong side of the tracks," etc. One of Julie's relatives says he has a heart of gold, and he does. He's smart and practical and I think he's great.
5 Stars - Author Victoria Adams does an excellent job at bringing characters to life. I really enjoyed living through Julie's dream of becoming a dancer and her connection with Robert. Yeah, Robert may have gotten himself in the wrong crowd, but he really does portray a compassionate person and in the end he really does grow on you. Can't wait to see the next one in the series!

Julie has a moment from Dancing In Circles on My Sexy Saturday #MySexySaturday

For what I believe to be my inaugural visit, I am posting 7 paragraphs from my first book- Dancing in Circles - book 1 of Circles Trilogy.

Scene set - Prep school hallway. Prep school coed - Julie is talking to gang member and classmate - Robert. She just asked him out to lunch and he agreed asking - why? Julie speaks first.

"Because I asked?" Because the words just came out of my mouth."Guess so. Where?"He said yes. "Not here. I don't want to be—""Seen with me?""No, that's not it." She stepped back a pace, relieving the tension his presence caused in her. "I find you an enigma. I'd like to chat.""Well, you're arousin' my curiosity. What do Westland girls, with a body like yours, eat for lunch? Ya don't look like the cheeseburger and fries type."He thinks I'm cute. "Lunch Box isn't far. It has a great salad bar." She looked away, knowing her cheeks flushed bright pink.

A little sexual tension from Circles Interlocked on Book Boyfriend Cafe.

'); For sexual tension I've chosen a scene from my contemporary romance - Circles Interlocked - book 3 of Circle Trilogy.

Scene set - Julie and Robert are former lovers. Fate tosses them together and past passions flare.

Julie stared out the passenger window. What do I do if he asks me to leave? I don't want to. Should I tell him? No way. I mean I'd feel so stupid if he told me to go. Oh why doesn't he ask me to stay?Inside the cabin, both tried to outspeak the other. When they realized what was happening they ran through a course of "You first." - "No you first.""Ok, I'll go first. I'm the big brave man I can do this." He inhaled a deep breath. "Ok here goes. I don't know if you still feel anything for me, but I still feel like I did when we were together." He paced the room. "I know the stunt I pulled with Melissa was stupid and I'm sorry, but my heart was in the right place. Have we got any sort of a chance or do I take a cold shower?"Julie didn't want to talk. She wanted Robert to sweep her off her feet and carry her to the bedroom. Julie undid the buttons on his shirt. "I still love you," she whispered.Robert ran his hand through his hair. "Shit that's not the answer I expected." He pulled her close. "I never stopped loving you." His mouth met hers with a desperation suppressed for nearly a decade. Between kisses, they breathed, spoke and struggled with the removal of each other's clothes. His voice was low. "I want to make love to you.""I want you to.""I don't want you to go.""I don't want to.""Marry me?"

Circles Interlocked - Having been betrayed by the man she assumed she was destined to be with forever; Julie Anderson slapped Robert Holiday in an angry ending to their brief love affair. Heartbroken that her love affair didn't end with the fairy tale Happily Ever After, Julie leaves town to pursue her dream of being a dancer. As fate has a curious sense of humor, eight years later, they wake up in bed together. Now it is up to love to fix what time cannot mend.

Thursday 13 on Victoria's Pages of Romance #Thurs13

An internet meme going around is up to 13 lines so I thought I'd give it a whirl.
If you are here for Chit Chat - let me know in comments and I'll go back to that each week. It seemed to be going nowhere, so I thought I'd try something else.

From my NA contemporary romance - here's my first Thursday 13.

"Chelsea." Kendall nudged her friend in the ribs. "Is that one of your dad's guys?""Who? Him? No way. He's just a hockey wannabe. Ooh. Check the two getting out of the cab." Chelsea giggled. "I love the day before training camp starts. It's guy heaven."

BlurbLies, deceits and secrets - not a good way to begin a relationship.
After an ugly past forced Hunter Connolly to escape to Europe, the talented hockey player is back in North America and determined to land a position with a professional team. But he can’t hide from his past forever, especially when his beautiful classmate, Chelsea, forces him to reexamine his life. Soon, hockey is not his first priority anymore.
Chelsea Henderson is a bright co-ed working towards her dream of being a professional dancer. She forms a unique friendship with one of her father’s newest recruits and would love nothing more than to take it to the next level. However, there’s just one small problem. He doesn’t know she’s his coach’s daughter.
Amid the deceptions, danger lurks closer than they could ever imagine. Will fate contrive to rip the young lovers apart? Or will Hunter and Chelsea have their shot at love?

Hunter's response to Chelsea's help on this week's Book Hooks #MFRWhooks, #MFRWAuthor

Welcome to Victoria's Pages of Romance and Book Hooks. It is also MFRW authors Tweet day - so please retweet - even if you don't leave a comment.

This week's 6 to 8 sentences are from my NA contemporary romance – A Guy and A Girl

Scene Set –Last week - While working at the strip club a tray of drinks was spilled on bare Hunter's chest. Chelsea wiped it off. Hunter got a little annoyed.

As Hunter placed the tray and empty glasses on the counter, Chelsea mumbled an apology. He placed his hand on her arm and said, "Sorry, I didn't mean that. You were just helping. I shouldn't have growled." He moved his hips and shook his leg. "I think some of Bridgette's ice cubes made it inside my pants."A smile formed at the corner of Chelsea's mouth. Hunter shook his finger at her and said, "Don't laugh."

Cosy Crime - Cherringham: A Lesson In Murder by Neil Richards and Matthew Costello

Cherringham: A Lesson In Murder by Matthew Costello and Neil Richards
Nothing ever happens in the small Cotswold village of Cherringham, making it the perfect place to retire to – or so ex-NYPD Detective Jack Brennan thought. Since then, he and Sarah have solved mysterious deaths, unlikely accidents and perplexing robberies. “Peace and quiet” never really suited Jack anyway…
Cherringham is an ongoing “cosy crime” eBook series, that launched in December 2013 and features unlikely sleuthing duo Sarah and Jack. Released in monthly episode, it is written by award-winning game and TV writers UK-based Neil Richards and US-based Matthew Costello in a transatlantic collaboration – which mirrors that of Jack and Sarah. The new series, released from March, launches with A Lesson in Murder , in which the two are asked to investigate the violent death of a popular teacher at Cherringham Girls School.

Stephan takes a swing on this week's Weekend Writing Warriors #8sunday

Welcome to another weekend of Weekend Writing Warriors. My 8 sentence snippet this week is from my first release from my NA contemporary romance – Dancing in Circles- Book 1 of Circles Trilogy.
Scene Set -Continuation of the fight scene between North Shore Robert and Westland prep student Stephan

Fists swinging, Stephan dove at Robert, who ducked the punch. Again, Stephen went at him. Robert sidestepped this punch, but edged himself too close to Stephan's ring of supporters. Two football team members grabbed his arms, pinning them behind him.Stephan grinned. "I'll show you who's the best man. North Shore garbage."

Spotlight on A SPELL IN PROVENCE BY MARIE LAVAL

A SPELL IN PROVENCE BY MARIE LAVAL

With few roots in England and having just lost her job, Amy Carter decides to give up on home and start a new life in France, spending her redundancy package turning an overgrown Provençal farmhouse, Bellefontaine, into a successful hotel.
Though she has big plans for her new home, none of them involves falling in love – least of all with Fabien Coste, the handsome but arrogant owner of a nearby château.  As romance blossoms, eerie and strange happenings in Bellefontaine hint at a dark mystery of the Provençal countryside which dates back many centuries and holds an entanglement between the ladies of Bellefontaine and the ducs de Coste at its centre. As Amy works to unravel the mystery, she begins to wonder if it may not just be her heart at risk, but her life too.

A swoon worthy line from Dancing in Circles on this week's Book Boyfriend Cafe

');

This week's swoon worthy line - I've never been anyone's inspiration before -is from Dancing in Circles - book 1 - Circles Trilogy

Scene set - Julie is a dance student. She's creating a dance routine and she somehow manages to convince non-dancer - gang member - Robert to be her partner.

"Okay, I'm ready to dance." Julie showed him different ways to lift and hold her, how to spin and catch her. She marked out some dance moves between each pose. Robert fought to keep his focus on her words and instructions and not on the sensual movements she performed or the closeness of her body when he held her in a pose."And we'll end with the last lift we did. Hold me for a few counts, lower me slowly and then I'll end with an arch."He blinked, sighed and nodded. She pressed play and began to move. When they finished, she said, "Good rehearsal. A dancer becomes involved with the music. Feel it as you move me. Don't worry about counts or beats. Just feel the passion of dancing."Robert yawned. "Aren't you beat? I'm tired and I haven't been dancing all day.""I'm strangely wired with energy." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "You energize me. Inspire me. My soul feels like it's going to explode if I don't move."He leaned his face closer. "I've never been anyone's inspiration before." He kissed her. A simple kiss expressing what his soul felt, but his mouth couldn't say.
Julie stepped back, breathing deeply trying to settle the rush of emotion that his kiss exploded within her.

Chit Chat 9 - Favourite TV shows. Here's mine. What's yours? #VAchitchat

Television - it seems to pretty much be a love it or hate it sort of thing. I've heard people pompously proclaim - I don't own a TV. I never watch it.
I feel sorry for them.  TV is our link to the world. World changing events - 9/11, Japan's tsunamis - can be watched as they unfold.
Also - it can be a great destressor. When I need some serious non-mental downtime - I click on - get ready for it - Say Yes to the Dress.  I'm married - 32 yrs and I have no idea why that show appeals, but it is my "chocolate".

There are a few TV shows my husband and I watch every week- all of the NCIS (NCIS, NCIS:LA, NCIS:New Orleans) and The Big Bang Theory. And that is pretty much it.

What I find funny is I've turned into my parents. When I was younger, I could recite the weekly TV schedule. My parents would complain that nothing was on and I'd be stunned by that.  Guess our viewing habits change.

So what is your secret favourite TV show?
