When Ianthe began her career as a faery godmother, she stumbled so badly that Snow White will probably never speak to her again. After a long suspension, she’s finally been given a chance to redeem herself…but everything on this latest assignment is going wrong. But why?Worse, she definitely doesn’t need an attractive mortal man distracting her from her duties. Of course, needs and wants are two different things.Briak has had his eye on Ianthe for a very, very long time, but he’s been waiting for just the right moment to make his move. Despite the fact all hell’s about to break loose on his watch, he can’t resist the opportunity to insert himself into her earthly assignment. Can he convince Ianthe of her true calling and thereby win her heart? Or will his subterfuge ultimately cost him her love?
Excerpt:Briak reached out and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, and (Ianthe) gasped. He lowered his hand and pointed to the salad. “If you wanted to split that with me right now, I wouldn’t say no. You did promise to have lunch with me sometime.”The heat in his look blew away the chill from the grocery store’s freezers. Lunch and maybe a little more?To heck with the party! She nodded. “I did.”No. What are you doing, you fool? Mallory and Randall need your help, which you can’t give full attention to if you’re flirting with their employee. “I’m sorry. I don’t have time.”He shoved his hands in his pockets. “Tomorrow then. Or day after. Whenever your power’s back on.”She felt awkward and stupid. Worse, Briak confused her. There was something ... odd about him, and familiar. Though why she felt this way, she still couldn’t place.  “Maybe.”“Good enough.” He turned and headed toward the frozen food aisle.I think Geldon’s right about those demerits.Who cares? She slid the basket up to the crook of her elbow and followed him. “Have you worked at the ranch long?” she called. He slowed his progress until she caught up with him. “Six years, give or take.”“So you haven’t always been in the ranching business.”“Nope. It’s a new dream.” He looked over the frozen food cabinet and shifted a few dinners sideways.“So that’s why you work for Randall.”“Just ‘til I can save enough to afford my own.”“Do you think the ranch will go to his business partner?” she asked.Briak looked up at her, gaze intense for a moment before disgust slid in, and he snorted. “Ex-business partner.”She clamped her mouth shut before she said anything else stupid.“I don’t know,” he said. “Depends on her lawyer I guess. If he’s a shark or not.”“People are people, Briak.” She settled her basket in her left hand, watching him. “I don’t believe in stereotyping.”“Some people—”“It’s rude to label them,” she said. “You never know what people deal with, day in, day out. You might never meet a so-called stereotypical lawyer.”He smiled a little. Was her scolding amusing? She picked a boxed slice of cake from the freezer.“Let’s hope,” he said. “At any rate, it might not be a bad thing to get Mallory out of his hair.”She turned the cold box in her hands, trying to come up with a good answer to persuade him otherwise. “You liked her once.”He shrugged. “As long as she signs my checks, I don’t think about her much.” He stepped back and saluted. “So, I’ll see you at the party, Ianthe. Wear that dress.”She looked down at her denim skirt. “This thing?”He smiled, his eyes glittering with mischief. “It suits you.”She couldn’t fight off a crooked smile. “Only if you wear those jeans.”“I’ll make a point of it, m’lady.”He winked and marched off.Ianthe blinked and dropped the cake slice into her basket. She was looking forward to seeing him again. No, she had work to do. Focus on Randall and Mallory.Wear that dress, he’d said.Only if you wear those jeans. She slapped her forehead. Why did you say that?

Spotlight on M.A. Church's Nighttime Promises

Roswell – Myth or FactAccording to much widely held public opinion, the United States government successfully recovered the remains of a crashed UFO along with its extraterrestrial occupants near Roswell, New Mexico, in July 8, 1947. In what is now known as the “the Roswell incident,” the U.S. military is said to have quickly covered up the affair and continues to shroud it in extreme secrecy even today. If these events surrounding Roswell in the summer of 1947 actually took place, as have been claimed in several books on the subject and by numerous UFO researchers, it would certainly constitute the story of the millennium and be the greatest government-sponsored coverup of all time. Indeed, should irrefutable evidence ever surface that any government on this earth possessed the physical remains of either an extraterrestrial spacecraft or its occupants, it is an understatement to say that such a revelation would fundamentally transform humanity as we know it.Now… according to Ziang, Daroshi’s commanding officer, there was a crash. How does he know this? LOL. He was involved. He was there. And guess, what? Aliens do exist and have visited Earth. *Grin* Bryan can tell you all about aliens and their tentacles. ;)

Be careful what you wish for...
The first time Daroshi spotted Bryan, the Maz’Rarian warrior knew he wanted the small town sheriff as his mate. Things have been going downhill since. Daroshi doesn’t have experience dealing with humans, especially a very unhappy human male who’s just had his well-planned life jerked out from under him. Little does Daroshi know the changes Bryan will insist be made to help him adjust. But he also never dreamed someone would actually try to kill his mate.
The shocks just keep coming for Sheriff Bryan Coltrane. Finding out aliens exist was bad enough. Finding himself mated to one was definitely not on his to-do list. Wait, what? Did someone say tentacles? And if that’s not enough, a killer tried to poison him. Added to his misery, now he’s on his way to another planet—a planet that he hates on sight. How’s he supposed to survive in such a cold, ugly industrialized world? Can you take the country out of the boy without killing his spirit?
As Bryan struggles to adapt, a killer plots to end his new life... before it even begins.

Excerpt:

The stress of the past few weeks sure caught up with him—saying he was gaunt was putting it nicely. His sapphire blue eyes were sunken in his head and the laugh lines around his eyes slashed deeper into his face. The dark circles didn’t help matters, either. God, he looked like he had two black eyes. The skin was that nasty bruise color and puffy. And were there more than a few strands of gray in his dark hair now? At age thirty-four this was ridiculous. That’s what stress would do, though, and this was about as stressful a situation as he’d ever been in. Bryan sighed. The poisoning deal scared him; he could have died. Should have died, actually. Someone was after his ass and they didn’t know whom. On top of that, they were hurtling through space toward a planet he’d soon be calling home. With an alien. Yeah, stressful. “Shit,” he muttered. “Things have got to get—”“Bryan!”Bryan flinched at the roar from the other room. Damn, do these aliens know how to do anything other than yell?“Where are you? Bryan? Bryan! By the stars, answer me!”A loud crash echoed into the bathroom. “Oh, for God’s sake.” Bryan shook his head. What the hell was Daroshi doing out there? Tearing Medical apart looking for him? Did Daroshi think he’d… what? Run away? Where was there to run? Besides, he had someone trying to kill him. He damn sure wasn’t going to go wandering the halls alone.“Bryan!”“I’m in here, Daroshi.”Daroshi slammed into the bathroom area, chest heaving and tentacles writhing on his back. Jesus, he looked fierce. “What are you doing?”“Playing checkers.” Bryan rolled his eyes. “What do you think I’m doing in here? It’s a bathroom. Come on, big guy, you figure it out. Jeez.”Daroshi leaned against the doorframe, the rise and fall of his chest slowing. “I’m not even going to ask what this ‘checkers’ means. Bryan, the medibed stopped monitoring your stats. The low beeping noise ceased. I woke up thinking there was something wrong, and instead I find you’re… You weren’t there.”“Aw, man, I didn’t think. I had to use the bathroom and… What are youdoing?” Bryan grabbed hold of Daroshi’s shoulders as his feet left the ground.Daroshi hoisted Bryan into his arms, growling loudly even as a tentacle snaked across one massive shoulder to pet Bryan. “I’m taking you back to the medibed. You know, it’s that thing that monitors your body’s systems. You were poisoned and shouldn’t be up. Do you understand how serious this is?”Huh, sarcasm. “Since I was the one poisoned I’d have to say that yeah, I get it.” Bryan rested his head against Daroshi’s neck. Good thing he already went to the bathroom. “Wow, is that your best bedside manner? Because I have to tell you, it leaves a lot to be desired.”“Waking up and finding you missing left a lot to be desired.” Daroshi gently lowered Bryan back down onto the medibed. “Do not do that again.”

M.A. Church bio
M.A. Church lives in the southern United States and spent many years in the elementary education sector. She is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two children. Her hobbies are gardening, walking, attending flea markets, watching professional football, racing, and spending time with her family on the lake. But her most beloved hobby is reading. From an early age, she can remember hunting for books at the library. Later nonhuman and science fiction genres captured her attention and drew her into the worlds the authors had created. But always at the back of her mind was the thought that one day, when the kids were older and she had more time, she would write a book. By sheer chance, she stumbled across a gay male romance story on the web and was hooked. A new world opened up and she fell in love. Thus the journey started. When not writing or researching, she enjoys reading the latest erotic and mainstream romance novels.

Spotlight shining brightly on - Her Royal Masquerade by Natasha Moore

Blurb:Time is running out for Prince Vittorio. His father’s health is failing and he must find a royal bride. Fast. He’s never forgotten his glimpse of a beautiful Scandinavian princess and lures her to his Mediterranean country with an invitation to his father’s birthday ball. He’d planned to propose a marriage agreement as cold as her icy reputation, but then he discovers she's as colorful and warm as a summer sunset. The heat between them flares red-hot and when she allows him to seduce her, Vittorio sees his future unfolding just as he had planned. But what he doesn’t know is that the woman in his bed is not a princess at all.
The last thing schoolteacher Mia Holmberg expects when she masquerades as her royal cousin is to be swept off her feet by a charming prince. The incredible night in Vittorio’s arms is like a fairy tale come true, but she’d never want the life of a real princess, with all its pomp and politics. Knowing they can never have a future together, she slips out of his bed and back to reality, where she belongs.
But Vittorio discovers the deception and kidnaps Mia back to his palace, demanding she be his mistress until the real princess appears. Despite her attempts to stay aloof, Mia soon learns there’s more to the prince than arrogance and attitude, but now she’s in danger of falling in love with a man she can never have.

Excerpt:

Mia rushed over to the waist high railing constructed of rough-hewn stone like the rest of the palace. Darkness had fallen while she’d been inside. Lights from the towns around them sparkled below. Stars in the inky sky twinkled above. Once again she had the feeling of stepping into a fairy tale. The air was warm, even outside, with barely a breeze to lift the moisture from her skin. She took a few decidedly un-princesslike gulps of air, trying to calm the edgy arousal that burned within her.
“Are you alright?” Vittorio asked. He stepped up to her and the heat from his body didn’t help her at all. “Do you need to sit down? Something cold to drink?”
“I’ll be okay. Just give me a minute. I guess I’m just not used to the climate here.” She was so hot. She began to tug down one of the opera-length gloves. Would it be a serious breach of conduct if she whipped them off and threw them over the railing?  “Allow me,” he said, his voice suddenly a little deeper, a little slower than it had been a moment before. He took her hand in his, stretched out her arm in front of him. He ran his free hand up, starting at the palm of the hand resting in his. Slowly, so slowly, he moved his hand up her arm. There might as well not have been the fabric of the glove between them, she felt his touch so strongly.  When his fingers reached the top of the glove, he didn’t immediately begin to remove it. Instead, he teased the bare skin of her upper arm with his fingers. “So soft,” he whispered, holding her gaze. He swept his hand up to her bare shoulders and cupped her neck, skimming his thumb along her collar bone, just above the diamonds Birgitte had trusted her with. “This beautiful necklace is not half as lovely as you,” he murmured.  She couldn’t speak, could only offer a shaky smile in response. He was holding her hand, her throat. Could he feel her trembling beneath his touch?   “But you are hot. It is our weather, no doubt. I can help you with this problem, I think.” Vittorio began to slowly peel the glove from her arm, dragging his fingers along her skin as he did. He focused all his attention on her arm, as if it were the most important thing to him at the moment.    What would it be like to have that single-minded attention focused on her while making love? Even as Vittorio stripped off her glove, her body heated further with the image of his long, powerful frame moving over her, entering her.   Mia imagined he would take command of her body, ensuring that he pleasured her with all the skill he surely possessed. She couldn’t help but wonder if he would look as amazing out of the expensively tailored clothing as he did at this moment. Of course, he would. Everything about Vittorio was first class. He would fit right in with Birgitte. Mia wasn’t close to being in the same league.  Vittorio began to strip off the second glove, giving it every bit as much attention as he had given to the first one. His fingers strummed along her arm as he tugged at the satin. Her newly bared arm hung at her side, her fingers closed into a fist so she didn’t reach out and tangle them in his thick hair.   “Don’t you have breezes in Mezzano?” she asked, her voice rough with desire. She hoped he would think it was the heat that affected her so. He still held one of her hands in his. She lifted the other hand to wave in front of her face, trying to stir the muggy air.  “Ah, my poor cara. It is still and humid this evening. Be assured we have our share of wind and rain.” The second glove was off now and Vittorio released her hand. How ridiculous it was to feel bereft at the loss of his touch. He folded the gloves and tucked them into the pocket of his jacket.  Mia lifted her heavy hair off her neck to try to cool off for a moment. Maybe she should have worn it up. “I know I should enjoy the warm weather. Right now in Stagatland I would have to be bundled up in a coat and scarf and boots to stand outside.”  Vittorio swept his gaze over her. “And it would truly be a shame to cover the amazing view I have at this moment.”  She let her hair fall down her back. “I suspect you have had a lot of practice with those charming lines,” Mia said, letting the amusement show in her voice. Still, she soaked up the compliment, let the pleasure flow over her like a warm spring rain.  He took her hand, lifted it to his lips. This time the kiss to the back of her bare hand sent fireworks bursting through her system. “It’s only the truth, Birgitte.”   Hearing her cousin’s name fall from Vittorio’s lips was like a handful of snow smacking her in the face. Of course. She had to remember she wasn’t Mia Holmberg tonight. She’d almost forgotten she was playing a part. Still, she lifted a skeptical brow at his words, they were so foreign to those she usually heard.   “You will find that I always speak the truth,” he said. “I despise lies and deception. I have heard and seen too many of them during my years in the palace. Too many people say one thing to my face and another behind my back. I speak only the truth when I say that I am so glad you accepted our invitation to my father’s birthday celebration and that I find you incredibly attractive. I would never lie to you.”  Mia shuddered at his words. She couldn’t let him discover her deception. He would never understand.  [image error]  Bio: Natasha Moore fell in love with the written word as soon as she could read. Images of Canada. Why? It's Canada Day!

Nothing is more of an iconic symbol of Canada as our flag.

This is an image of Quebec City, Quebec. Yes, we get snow - lots of it. But we also get glorious summer days.

The majestic mountains on the west coast.

The high Arctic - even there in summer the snow is gone.

A bit of a Canadian addiction.

And lastly

To a Canadian - this is The Cup.

Happy Canada Day - everyone.

Hi. Haven't visited My Sexy Saturday in a long time, but now I'm here with my new release - an NA contemporary romance.  NA means - new adult - 17 yrs of age and up. Not new ADULT as in a new erotic romance.

Here are 7 sentences from the first time Chelsea meets Hunter. She's talking to her best friend about it.

Kendall grabbed Chelsea's arm and pulled her onto a chair. "That's...Cute-Butt from yesterday.""His name's Hunter. We're in Communications class together." She bit her lip. "He sat next to me. I think the other girls are ready to rip my eyeballs out to get near him."

War has come to the United States. It’s been brewing for years as the government and Military Police wage war on the outcasts known as the Bionics. It’s spilling out into the streets as the militant Rejects continue to wage war against the ‘inferior’ humans, the M.P.s are raiding neighborhoods and putting Bionics to death, and I am fighting alongside the Resistance to save our kind from extinction. To top it all off, the president has now declared martial law, and the rights of American citizens are being stripped away one by one.Together, with the vigilante known as The Patriot, and my Resistance family, I am prepared to fight the impossible fight, to stand up for what’s right. From a single spark, our little rebellion has grown into a revolution, a roaring fire that will envelop the nation. At the same time, things in my personal life are finally turning around. I’m in love with a beautiful girl who loves me back, and we might have a shot at a real future … unless the enemy manages to snatch away from me everything that I hold dear. GoodReads

~ Excerpt ~

A weapon’s muzzle suddenly comes up to the back of my head and I freeze, lifting my hands and the CBX with it. An M.P. in white, fiberglass armor circles around me, the gun now focused on my forehead. I can see just by looking that he has it on the kill setting.“Look, man,” I say calmly. “I’m not one of them. I’m on your side here.”He raises the face shield of his helmet, and I’m face to face with a fresh recruit. He can’t be any older than eighteen and skinny as a rail, shaking like a leaf. “Don’t come any closer,” he says, his high-pitched voice trembling with the force of his fear. Around us, the fight rages on. “You’re all the same, just a bunch of freaks.”I shrug. “Come on, dude. We both know I could have killed you by now. But I’m not here to fight you. We just want justice. Look around you and you’ll see the real killers, the real freaks. Turn your gun on them, and I’ll do the same.”He frowns. “Fight with you?”“With me, next to me, behind me, whatever. What’s your name, kid?”He swallows noisily, his Adam’s apple bobbing in his throat. “Ethan.”I nod. “Okay, Ethan, I’m Dax. You got a girl, Ethan?”Ethan lowers the gun. “Yeah… I mean, kind of. She doesn’t really know I like her.”I smile. “Been there, man, done that. I got a girl too, back home. I kind of told her I loved her a few days ago.”Ethan’s eyebrows shot up. “Whoa, that’s huge.”“Right? Big stuff. Plus, I promised her I’d try to make it back alive. The way I see it, I stand a better chance of that if we can try to fight together, even if it’s just for today. What do you think? Let’s end this shit so we can get home. You have a girl to win over, and I’d rather not piss mine off by coming home in a body bag.”Ethan nods. “Yeah. Yeah, okay, sure.”My hand grasps his shoulder just as a flying metal disc comes whizzing at his head. He cries out as I take him to the ground, just barely saving him from being decapitated. I’m not quite as lucky. The metal disc slices into my cheek as it flies by, laying it open. Pain explodes along the left side of my face, leaving a trail of fire that goes from my jaw to just beneath my eye. Another inch and I’d be sporting a falsie like Blythe. Behind Ethan, one of the Rejects has some sort of makeshift gun mounted on his shoulder. It’s the size of a small cannon, and it is shooting another disc at me. Dropping for cover and avoiding another gash, I grab Ethan’s shoulder again. “You good?”He stares at me with wide eyes and nods. “Yeah.”“Cool. Stay down while I kill this dickhead.”This time when he fires at me, I’m ready. The pistons in my leg joints fire rapidly and I jump, my boot connecting with the disc and kicking it back the way it came. I give Ethan a hand up as the Reject’s head slides from his shoulders, taken off by his own disc. “Can dish it out but can’t take it,” I grumble as I help Ethan to his feet.He smiles at me appreciatively. “You saved my life, man. Thanks.”“No need to thank me. Now, let’s go save some others.”

Brenda Dyer's 3rd Book - Prophecy's Power and all I can say is - OH WOW!!!!

Blurb for Prophecy’s PowerHe kidnapped her heart

For Natalie Tortelli, everything comes down to a hard-won fight. She’s survived an insane mother and a cold, indifferent foster care system. To stand apart from everyone and everything is to trust only in herself—and that suits her fine. But all that changes one night when she happens upon a handsome stranger, murdering another. To make matters worse, the killer takes her captive and claims he’s part of a vampire race that protects humans from demons. Caught in a dangerous world she doesn’t understand, Natalie has no choice but to trust in him. But her pride won’t allow her to fall for the sexy kidnapper.

She stole his soul

Soren from the Fourth Clan of vampires loves his life. With an endless supply of demons to fight, and willing women to share his bed, why wouldn’t he? Love is an emotion he cares nothing about. But the foundations of his philosophies are shaken to the core after he has to detain Natalie. She’s unlike any woman—vampire or human—he’s ever come across. When it comes time to let her go, he finds he doesn’t have the heart to release his wild and sexy captive.

The power of love binds them

Together, Soren and Natalie attempt to unravel the secrets that haunt her past—which might tie both of them to the vampire prophecy. Though their passionate relationship is more than either had expected, both hesitate to fully entrust themselves to one another. But if they don’t, death may be the only thing that unites them.

Excerpt
Natalie gritted her teeth as she glanced at the caller ID on her cell phone, not surprised to see Soren’s number again. He’d called her a total of ten times since three this afternoon. With each call his demands for her to get her ass back to the base had grown. At first she’d tried being nice, explaining she had a few things to take care of, but as his anger intensified, so had hers. And after the visit with her mother, her patience was now at an all-time low. The visit had gone great at first until Natalie stupidly mentioned vampires. Her mom had become so agitated an orderly had to be called to calm her down She pulled her van over to the side of the highway and pushed answer. Instantly, Soren’s loud voice blasted her ear.“Where the hell are you? Tell me and I’ll come get you.”His barked command pissed her off to the point of madness. “Where I am is none of your damn business. I’ll be there when I get there.”“Goddammit. Stop acting like a pouting child. Tell me where you are.”“No.” She rubbed her forehead. “I told you before you don’t own me and you can’t order me around. And the more you do the madder I get.”A string of curses bombarded her eardrum. “If you’re not here in twenty minutes, I’m coming to look for you.”She laughed. “Don’t bother. I’ll be there when I get there. And when I do, we’re hashing this shit out once and for all. Oh, and Soren? This is what I think of your fucked-up ultimatum.” She pulled the phone from her ear, placed it close to her mouth, and let loose a loud raspberry noise with her tongue. When finished, she hung up and switched her cell to vibrate then tossed it onto the passenger seat.Within seconds the thing bounced like it was filled with popcorn. As she watched her cell dance, the reality of what she’d done made her laugh until tears ran down her cheeks. And picturing the look on Soren’s face made it hard to catch her breath. When she calmed down, she wiped her eyes, then started the van. She’d been on her way to the base when he’d called, but after his arrogant bullshit display, Natalie decided to get something to eat first, then fill the van with gas, and drive like a granny. Hopefully he’d realize he’d get nowhere with her when he acted like a complete ass.

Sort of a review - I don't really do reviews. It reminds me too much of English class and I never seemed to get that right. So - here goes. OH WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! I've read the first two of Brenda Dyer's series and now this one and I am scheduling time for the next 20 books. I am so enamored with this author's work, if she wrote a grocery list I'd read it. Her writing is truly amazing. Her characters leap off the page. You feel they are real. You want to text Natalie and say - Get over it. Love him. Would I give it a 4 star - a 5 star rating? Remember those little boxes of gold stars - I'd stick them all over this book. Dozens and dozens until my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth. This book is worth it.Brenda - now go write the next one. I'm waiting. *Sitting here tapping my foot.*

The clock moved to end of class with the slowness of a snail. Chelsea picked up her purse and books before following the class out of the door. One of the business administration students, whom Chelsea characterized as blue eyes, with big assets, stood in front of her. "Are you two dating?"Chelsea blinked. "Excuse me?""You and Hockey God. That dark-haired, brown-eyed hunk of male heat.""I met him at the coffee machine at 8:45 this morning."The girl smiled, flicked her long hair over her shoulder and walked away.Chelsea turned the corner and noticed Hunter ahead in the hall. A surge of protective jealousy washed over her. "Hunter! Wait up." She hurried towards him. "I'm meeting a friend for break. Want to join us?""Does break involve food? 'Cause I'm starving.""Caf's this way, and so's my friend." Escorting Hunter down the hallway, Chelsea snuck several glances, checking out his muscular build, longish hair and rugged profile. At the cafeteria entrance, she looked for Kendall. "Much quieter here on first day of summer school. You should have been here at the beginning of the year. A total madhouse. Oh, there's Kendall."She spotted her friend standing, open-mouthed, staring at Hunter. Chelsea nodded and waggled her eyebrows up and down, silently praying that her friend could read her mind and not mention her father, the coach. She led the way to the table. "Hunter, this is my best friend, Kendall."He glanced between Chelsea and Kendall, frowned then shrugged."What?" Chelsea searched his face, trying not to giggle like a sixteen-year-old."Nothing. For a moment I thought I recognized you two. Probably still got jet lag." He dropped his books on the table. "Back in a sec. I gotta get something to eat."Kendall grabbed Chelsea's arm and pulled her onto a chair. "That's...Cute-Butt from yesterday.""His name's Hunter. We're in Communications class together." She bit her lip. "He sat next to me. I think the other girls are ready to rip my eyeballs out to get near him.""Shit. I knew I should've taken that stupid course."Hunter returned with a double order of toast and an apple. "What're you taking, Kendall?""Painting and sculpturing. I'm an artist."From the wide-eyed stare and flushed cheeks, Chelsea would have bet a million dollars that Kendall bit back the question, "Can I sleep with you?" A twinge of anger grew as her friend turned her attention to Hunter. She struggled to dismiss it. "Hunter's trying out for the Vipers." Chelsea held her breath, hoping Kendall wouldn't blab on her. She didn't know a lot about hockey, but she guessed her dad had a rule about players dating his daughter.
