Fading Memories – Book Spotlight – A.M. Willard

Fading Memories – Book Spotlight – A.M. Willard

Synopsis: Isabel Nichols’s life changed in more ways than one through the years. As a young child, she experienced a loss that devastated her. It wasn’t until she was an adult that the universe around her shattered. In a twenty-four-hour time frame, she lost what she’d thought was her world. What followed was a year of mourning, a year of grieving, a year of darkness. Now, there’s one man who can show her the light.

Dakota Jackson left his life behind on a whim, moving to a beach cottage away from the big city where he grew up. He sees through Izzie’s clouds as he gets to know her, with the drive to be everything that she’s ever needed. The only problem is, Dakota holds the key to a secret that could ruin both of their hopes and dreams.

Passion isn’t always enough to heal a broken heart; love isn’t always enough to guide you through the darkness.

This is about two souls that were meant to be together from the day they were born. Two people who have to figure out a way to look past the memories. It’s the now; it’s living your life as you’re meant to, loving the one your heart craves. It’s about letting go of the grieving, learning to be who you are, and accepting life for what it is.

Can love cure all things despite its hardships?

Excerpt God, that smirk he always gives me … it’s about to drive me nuts. Jumping down from the counter, I decide to do this myself. This is a conversation that needs to be avoided. In the bathroom, I lock the door behind me and locate the peroxide and a bandage. I hike my foot up on the side of the tub and dab the cotton ball onto the small cut. My breath hitches from the sting. Satisfied that they’re clean enough, everything goes back up and I head back out. When I enter the kitchen, everything is cleaned up and a brand new glass of water is on the counter waiting for me. Dakota’s out in the sunroom with the others, and I use this moment to regroup. The sliding door opens and it’s Dakota again, causing me to let out a sigh of defeat. Not understanding how he doesn’t get the picture that I’m not interested, I decide to kick it up a notch. Do I choose bitch mode, or the whole reverse psychology on him?  He’s inspecting the bandage like he’s prepared to whisk me off to a hospital for some minor cuts. “You all right?” “I am, thanks.” “Wow, she says thanks.”“Hilarious. You’re a regular comedian today, huh?”“Maybe.” “Are you this way with everyone you meet or is it just with me?” I ask. “Just with you, Izzie,” he says as he steps closer to me. Dakota’s so close that I can actually feel his breath on my neck. “Izzie, why are you fighting me so hard? Can’t you feel the attraction and the spark? I do, and I know you do.” With my heart in my throat, I’m not able to respond. He looks at me a little while longer, then backs away and takes the glass of water from my hands and places it on the counter.

About June Moonbridge
The person behind the name of June Moonbridge, has many names and many faces too. Although living in the same area, she was born and raised in one country  and now living in another. She studied economics, and quickly realised she hated it. Afterwards, she found herself working in mainly male businesses; at first in automotive and later - steel products productions. She can choose for you the best steel you need, but don't, please don't, ask her which lipstick to use.She started to write in her high school and was negatively criticised by her teacher. Stubborn as she is that didn't stop her. Under different pen names for her stories she tried to get some independent opinions, which came back as good reviews in magazines and later she published three books.Giving birth to two children, and learning that her second child has Autism, she married the father of them and continued to work. All that together took all of her free time. But the desire to write didn't die. When life somehow sorted itself out, she decided to write her novel in English and her first submission to Safkhet was rejected… For what happened later… read third paragraph, second sentence. https://www.facebook.com/JMoonbridge www.junemoonbridge.com https://twitter.com/JMoonbridge @JMoonbridge https://si.linkedin.com/in/jmoonbridge

Thirteen sentences from Red Tulip on Thursday 13 #Thursday13

Scene set- Darcy has had 2 tulips mysteriously appear. She tries to shrug it off and returns to work the next day She is a junior gardener at a big city municpal garden.

At work the next morning, Jacobs had already piled flats of annuals onto the gardener's cart. He pointed to it and mumbled something about flowerbeds by the lake. Communication skills weren't a top priority in Jacob's life. I tossed the duck feed onto the passenger's seat, grabbed my tools and drove off without a word.Ducks fed, I turned to the cart and lifted a flat of young pansies. I took one-step towards the flowerbed when something the size of a small elephant knocked me backwards onto my butt."Reginald. Stop."I glanced from the bright-eyed sheep dog to the scowling-faced man. "You named your dog Reginald?""Yes. I am so sorry. He gets excited near a body of water.”

Spotlight on Luanna Stewart and her romantic suspense - Portrait of a Girl.

Spotlight on Luanna Stewart and her romantic suspense - Portrait of a Girl.

Thank you, Victoria, for inviting me to visit your blog. As an aside, it’s my wedding anniversary today. Hubby and I have been married 30 years. Wow! We were chatting about it earlier and discovered it’s the Pearl anniversary. Our eldest son, a master’s student in marine ecology, suggested we celebrate by eating oysters. My response? Eww!
How will we really celebrate? I’m composing this post ahead of schedule, on August 25th, so I’m not sure what we’ll be doing on the 31st. But it’ll be the day after we move our youngest son from one apartment to another for his last year of undergraduate university. So I’m guessing that hubby and I will want to just sit on the beach at our cottage and recover!
What do you like to do to celebrate anniversaries?

Blurb:
When her wealthy art dealer father died, Heather James was expecting a fortune. Instead, his bank account was empty and Heather’s working in a bakery, wondering exactly what happened to her father's millions...until someone tries to kill her.
Tony Simons is on the trail of an art theft cold case that's practically giving him frostbite. He's hoping that by sticking close to Heather—the daughter of his deceased prime suspect—he'll find the answers he needs. Instead, he's finding himself distracted by a gorgeous woman who drives him crazy in every way imaginable…
Now Tony's in serious trouble. Even if Heather can't—or won't—tell him where the stolen paintings and money are, she may well have stolen his heart.
And now someone wants her dead…

Darcy's hope for a normal day at work is dashed on Weekend Writing Warriors #8sunday

Back to WWW

Scene Set- Darcy heads back to work the next day, hoping it is a more normal workday. (Jacobs is the head gardener - her boss)
How did he get into my apartment? Having already discarded the most obvious answer – magic – I stared at my screen, hoping for inspiration, but nothing came to mind. I slapped my laptop shut, grabbed my meal out of the microwave and caught the last forty minutes of Dr. Phil.
Sexy is a simple date on Saturday night #MySexySaturday #MSS107

Sexy is a simple date on Saturday night.

From my contemporary romance - Red Tulip

Saturday night was supper and a movie with Shamus and Reginald, the sheep dog. Sometimes dinner was lavish, and dessert decidedly decadent; Madagascar vanilla ice cream drizzled with a hot fudge sauce made with fifteen different kinds of cacao and the whole thing is presented in a solid gold goblet topped off with edible gold! We aren't going to talk about the coffee. Seems it doesn't come from coffee bean, but a civet cat. Then there were the less formal affairs – takeout pizza and beer.It didn't matter what the food was, I really didn't taste it. All I focused on was Shamus. It felt wonderful to be with him. So natural. So perfect. After dinner, we'd walk to his movie theatre, with the latest in 3-D viewing, its own popcorn maker and a sound system that knocks your socks off. We'd snuggle together on the broad couch in the center of the room, hold hands and watch the movie of the week. Last Saturday's feature was a romance, so that meant this week would be some action-packed adventure. Maybe the latest Bond movie. Daniel Craig makes me sigh. When the movie was over and with the Bond theme rumbling around in my head, we strolled around the gardens in a convoluted path from Shamus's mansion to my cottage. Reginald would trot along beside us until he'd spot something that required immediate attention. With a deep woof, he'd be off. Once I caught sight of a poor bunny scurrying for protection. As we neared the cottage, I paused. My grip tightened on Shamus's hand. "There's a light on in the cottage. I didn't leave one on. What if someone's in there?" I inched closer to him.His soft chuckle made me stare at him with one eyebrow raised. "It's okay, Darcy. I was in the cottage. I left a gift there for you. I didn't want to leave it in the house as Reginald might step on it."

From Red Tulip - Darcy O'Calahann is introduced to Darcy McTavis on Friday Snippets #FridaySnippets

From Red Tulip - contemporary romance with a little twist of mystery - Darcy has agreed to have dinner with Shamus at his house - which turns out to be a mansion.

I followed Shamus out of the conservatory. With a lingering glance back, I sighed, closed the door and continued down the hall. Reginald walked beside me.Shamus stood next to an open door. "My grandmother's library."The aroma of wood polish and old books nudged my nose before I stepped into the room. I have seen this room only in my imagination. Bookshelves reached floor to ceiling, every available inch of shelf space was covered by a book. Stacks of volumes were mounded on tops of small tables. A desk on the far side had three piles and one more on the chair accompanying it.I turned and hiccupped. Before was a fireplace were two worn chairs with small footstools. A table rested next to each one, just big enough to hold a cup of tea while one sat in the chair and lost themselves inside a novel. But it was, again, the painting that grabbed my attention. It was me. Only not me. Someone who looked like me a long time ago."Please. Sit." He indicated one of the chairs. "I can explain."My gaze riveted to the picture, I sat across from him as Reginald settled at my feet."That is my great grandmother, Darcy McTavis. Originally Darcy O'Flanahan.""Darcy?" I gulped. The woman sat on a brown sofa doing embroidery work. The saying she was finishing read - I will love you until the twelfth of never. She wasn't looking at her work. Instead, she seemed to be staring at me and there was a mischievous twinkle in her eye.
